Love this pet hospital. Always so clean and professional. This time met with Vet Nancy O’Day to see my pup about his limping right leg. Everything she told me made sense. Gave me lots of advice and left with a positive feeling. She’s very knowledgeable and goes beyond her call of duty. Not many Vets are like that. Unfortunately, she’s retiring in September after being one of the 5 vets that started with this pet hospital. At 11am Saturday, my dog was bitten at a dog park with two significant lacerations. Albeit the injury wasn't life threatening and Adobe was busy, we had to wait for 45 min with a stressed pet bleeding onto the floor. My dog was finally examined and admitted at 12 noon. But the surgery did not take place until 6pm. That is a very long time for an injured and upset dog. He came home very traumatized and it took a day to settle down. I have heard good things about Adobe and their regular treatment may be top notch, but I cannot recommend them for their emergency service. Read Less

This is vet hospital is top notch. While they can be pricy for most cases it's worth the price. There is 24 hour vet care and plenty of vets to gain knowledge from so you know animals are given the best care. Read Less

They did a very good job with my dog's emergency, although the prices are high. I am confident in the vets' abilities and the staff were kind and understanding. Long time customer and somewhat medically knowledgeable....Past review couple years back was 5 stars, but have to revise now.Since a couple years the atmosphere and Operations here have changed and it is more like in an human ER/Urgent Care in there....with more customers that they seem to be able to reasonably handle. Not chaotic, but rushed and clearly cutting some corners here and there. They got going for them, that they have experienced and in general quite good Vets and Techs on Staff...so not blaming them.With this, getting to my most recent experience:Had to wait almost 4 hrs. for Urgent Care for my dog, with the visit cleared and discussed beforehand with a Vet Tech (with a good idea with what was wrong and what the dog urgently needed).Knowing that my dog (albeit in distress and pain) was able to handle the wait, this is pushing the frame of reasonable (even without the extra expenses).What really made me write the review was that my dog started coughing about 12-16 hrs. after we came home....which was totally unrelated to the initial problem (Kennel Cough?).  I had noticed that the exam room floor showed signs of the presence of previous patients.....Luckily the dog overcame the double whammy without problems, also thanks to the great Vet who confirmed diagnosis and treatment strategy. I have been to this place many times and it was a great experience. My earlier reviews would have given them 5 stars without a problem. The 1 star is for a reason - which you will understand as you read this.As always I walk in with my dog for an unscheduled walk-in appointment yesterday (Friday) at 9:30AM. Walk-ins were always welcome as far to the past as I can remember - I used to take my previous dog too to this place. The receptionist asks me if I had an appointment which was a fair question; I said no and she said the earliest appointment was at 3PM same day; I said, I needed to go to work so it will not work for me and I was turning to go back home - when she said, well you can see the doctor *now* if you paid the emergency rate. This shocked me - basically what she said meant - they had a doctor free enough to see my dog outside of their appointments, but for a higher fee. I asked about the fees - it was $80 for appointments, $120 for walk-ins and $160 for walk-ins after 5PM. While I have no problem with the after hour fees of $160, because I do know that the emergency vet clinics charge more because of out of normal hour coverage, it was the $120 for walk-ins at regular hours that bothered me. I felt it was an unethical business practice - wherein you charge people more because they did not have an appointment - that too for loyal customers. I am not sure when they came up with this strategy - but it most certainly is not ethical at all.I called the other location of Adobe and asked about the rates and got the same message there as well. So this was definitely not the case of a single employee trying to game the system.I then took my dog to a vet closer to my home - without appointment and paid the normal fees and got the problem taken care of.I would not return to adobe nor would I recommend to anyone - at least not during the day. Dr. Nicolette Zarday and the staff assistants Erin and Stephanie were fabulous.  I was visiting from Los Angeles and brought in my mother's beloved four-legged Spaniel for a check-up. The   reception staff at Adobe were extremely polite and cordial. Dr. Zarday, who resembles a youthful college student, has been a practicing Veterinarian for 17 years and really knows her profession. Very personable and attentive, she has a relaxed, yet skilled, confident, and caring presence. She performed a competent exam and identified potential health concerns and provided treatment options and recommendations.   Both assistants were friendly, professional, and extremely attentive to our pet's anxiety and handled her with genuine heartfelt caring gentleness.        We had a very satisfying experience and highly recommend Dr. Zarday and Adobe Clinic. Does your dog need a vet? Go here. Don't look at any other listings and trust that literally all your needs will be served here outside of "specialty care". From a general perspective really research the cost of other vets sending tests out. And then research what Adobe offers in-house. Then work with literally any member of their staff, front desk, doctors and I do not have words to express the greatness of those in the ICU; you will never be short on knowledge and general awesomeness. This vet just tried to save my first fur babies life, tirelessly and with fully informing me throughout. They were realistic and thoughtful with me the entire way through. I could not have asked for a better tough situation. So whether it's minor or major (outside of specialized treatment), look no further. Your animals will thank you! And even it seems pricey, it's good veterinary care with warmth and competence; and if you really research you will find they are quite reasonable in the bigger picture! Read Less

This is a review of Adobe's emergency services only.We've been dog-sitting and last night the dog woke up snorting and looking uncomfortable. This continued for about 20 minutes, so I called Adobe, where a tech very kindly asked me a few questions and then suggested I bring in the dog ASAP to get checked out.Once I showed up at Adobe, Renee helped us out. In short, Renee was extremely helpful, kind, and compassionate. The dog ended up having something that resolved pretty quickly, but nonetheless I found Renee to be reassuring, particularly for the middle of the night. Keep up the great work, Renee! PLEASE DO NOT DO IT!  Do not let your pet suffer another day, a few days more, or another week. I believe the folks at Adobe have good hearts and intentions. Unfortunately, much like our "human" medical establishment they are victims of their own system.  They don't have the strength to rise up and oppose or change the status quo.  A for profit organization's core value is maximizing "profit".  This is not achieved by curing diseases and ending life sooner "less suffering".  It is achieved by treating diseases and prolonging life "suffering" at your pet's expense.We brought Mika into Adobe after my significant other received lab results and recommendations that the best chance of treating Mika was to keep her overnight for two days.  To the vet's point, he did mention it was risky, but we were never provided any concrete numbers about how risky. Any numbers such as a 10% chance of success would have been NICE!  Given that she was already at the end of her life was WHY PROCEED WITH RISKY TREATMENT. In my opinion, if one can't provide concrete estimates on the outcome "better or worse", why bother!   To make a long story short, Mika turned for the worse the next morning and we took her home. She was heavily sedated. My significant other and I believe she had some sort of stroke, but no one could confirm it. We decided to bring her home. When leaving I specifically asked for some pain "comfort" medicine and was told is was too early.  Hours later at home Mika was howling as if someone poured acid into her system and we rushed her back to get euthanized.I clearly knew Mika's end was near. Primarily because the signs were very similar to my dad's who passed away a few months ago. I made a call to Hospice for my dad several months ago once he could no longer walk.  They provided us comfort meds and within a week he passed away with miminal pain "minimal suffering". I would have loved to provided a similar transition for Mika but the status quo at Adobe wanted otherwise.Like birth, there is a science to death. There are clear signs and indicators when death will occur. If you don't believe me go talk to Hospice.Please be strong and do not let Adobe "Corporation" prey on your emotions.  In my opinion it is better if your pet leaves this world a day or few days earlier than suffer some excruciating death.For Mika. Yes, they are expensive, but you're paying for the top notch service, 24/7 facility, caring and friendly staff, in house pharmacy, and much more I brought my sick cat in and spoke to the doctor over the phone multiple times - everyone was patient. I loved the service and care provided by my cat's doctor (Dr. Corces). Facility is always clean as well and no weird pet smells you get at other hospitals. Highly highly recommend Adobe! Read Less

MY DOG DIED HERE DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE! I brought my small rescue dog here because she had a little piece of steak stuck in her throat that she couldn't quite cough out. The doctor who saw her said "oh, it's not a big deal" and used a metal rod and literally shoved it down her throat and did and said "she should be fine now" and sent her home with me with some pain killer for her throat. Well, when I brought her home, she was not acting normal and was clearly lethargic and would not eat and so I brought her back to Adobe. The doctor looked at her and said maybe she just needs some fluids and so she suggested I leave her there so they could administer IV fluids for a couple of days. So I did. When I went back to check on her the next day, they would not let me see her and staff were running around and I asked what was going on and a nurse said my dog was going into cardiac arrest...long story short, whatever that doctor and hospital did to my dog, wether it was the aggressive manner the doctor shoved the metal rod down my dog's throat or unnecessarily giving my dog too much fluids, who knows, but my otherwise healthy dog ended up on a respirator at that hospital for over a week and later died from her little lungs bursting because they could not take the machines pumping oxygen in them any longer. And not once, did that doctor ever call me to apologize or offer words of condolences... To make matters worse, they STILL BILLED ME THOUSAND'S OF DOLLARS for their hospital services!! When i went to pick up my baby's ashes, I was still in shock and mourning that I paid the bill without even thinking, but later realized what I had done was a huge mistake. I begged that they donate the money used to try to save my poor dog's life to a non-profit rescue group to rescue hundreds of dogs with that money but the Manager refused. Her comment to me was "Pursue us in other ways if you like..." Heartless Corporation. They are not a compassionate Animal Hospital. PLEASE! If you love animals, as I do, support your local Vets and take your fur babies to their private Veterinarian Clinics and not to this greedy Corporation that only cares about PROFIT! Read Less

We went to Adobe after our pup was hit by a car. He was facing a huge surgery ($$$) and we were uncertain what to do next.The staff at Adobe guided us through the process. Every single person at Adobe bent over backwards to help us and our pup through this hard time.Beyond giving wonderful care they also have connections with a board certified surgeon - Dr. Henry. Dr. Henry is kind and knowledgable. He completed the surgeries with expertise and was available to us 24/7. He even came in on a weekend (for a free check up) when I was worried about some post-surgery swelling (everything was fine). During the surgery the Adobe front desk kept in constant contact with us and even opened up after hours so we could pick up our pup. Bascially - we love this place and are so grateful to the staff. First and for most I want to thank Dr. Corses and the entire Adobe Animal hospital staff for not only helping my Maltese get better from Pancreatitis, but also for being so transparent, caring and really helping us step by step with helping my baby get better. I was recommended by Hosic - and I'm very glad I listened to him and the amazing things he had to say about the level of attention they dedicate to your pets. My dog had a severe case of pancreatitis and had to stay at the ICU unit for a few days, Cindy and the rest of the ICU staff were so caring and helped not only my dog, but all the pets with being so diligent, making sure they were clean, fed and comfortable. I also really appreciated that you're able to sit and be with your baby the entire time; you're able to see what they were doing to care for your pets for majority of the time being in there. Dr. Corses really was trying everything in her power to make sure she was making the best decisions for my dogs health. I believe with the amount of love, care and medicine my dog received greatly increased her chances of getting better as pancreatitis is a sickness that is really based off how your dog is able to recover and pull through. I'm very happy with the service I received there ranging from the moment I walked in and was greeted to being in the ICU unit with all of their staff. Our fur babies get top notch care at both their Los Altos & Los Gatos locations. Having a terminally ill pet can get very costly & we've found their rates to be competitive even for medical supplies. They teach you how to give your pet sub-cutaneous fluids so you can administer this in the comfort of your home & not have to pay hospital stay fees. Our lab results are received very quickly & we get reports & results at the end of our visits. Technicians can draw blood for tests where you can save without having to pay a doctors appointment fee (best if after a doctor has become involved). You get discounts for repeat doctor visits when it's for the same chronic condition. The Los Altos location it's a full service hospital/lab/surgical unit. I received an unexpected grand tour of the entire facility at midnight on Valentine's Day a few tears back. Every room & area was impeccably clean. No weird smells & saw staff attending to the ill with such care & concern. We drive 17 miles to bring our girls here & when we strayed & went to another vet due to transportation issues, our little one suffered greatly & we lost her due to a mis-diagnosis & lack of willing to do labs that Adobe would have caught & they did with the very same health issue (renal failure), for our other girl still under their great care. I have very high standards for my vet care, and Adobe meets them! They have knowledgeable and friendly staff, a clean facility, great communication and a well laid out facility. When my dog decided the vet wasn't such a great place after her surgery, they were enthusiastic when I brought her in to re-acclimate her. They not only let me hang out in the waiting area, they brought her around all the exam areas and fed her tidbits to help her learn to love it there again. The pharmacy is in store and it is super easy to refill prescriptions. They also carry non prescription items, and now have a mini retail area too! My dog also has drug sensitivities, and being the worry wart that I am, I kept asking for verification that they were aware of it. Not only did they never make me feel bad about that, they repeatedly assured me that they remembered AND they added an alert to my profile to let me know they are aware of it before any procedure. <3 They are amazing! While they can be a little bit pricey compared to other vet offices, I believe it is worth every single penny. They live up to and beyond my expectations, which is pretty darn hard to do!Read Less

We took our 10 year old cat in last night who was showing unusual signs of distress. Before we could even sit down, a delightful tech name Machelle met us and immediately started providing comfort and care...to our cat and to us. From there we got fast professional care. My sister was so happy that her cat returned home after he ran away for 52 hours. It was a relief for her when the escape artist came home. After he returned, something didn't look quite right. She found some cuts and bruises on his eyelids and belly. Poor cat. I felt bad for her family. I have a cat myself. I could understand how anyone feels about their family cat missing and injured.My niece brought this sick cat to Adobe Animal Hospital for a checkup. They were excited to see the veterinarian fixed him up quick and didn't cost her arms and legs. That reminds me of how important a pet insurance could be useful in the emergency.Even though I wasn't there, she gave me up-to-minute information via Facebook from the moment he was missing; just like I was there with her. WORST ANIMAL HOSPITAL EVER ? NOT ! Adobe is absolutely the best vet around and has been for several decades! Between 4 cats and a dog and too many emergencies to dwell on here, have had nothing but the best of care, anytime. Tell me some other vet you can call at 7PM and be seen at 8PM? When you have a pet you care dearly about, and it is in pain, you can't wait to get an appointment after 8AM the next morning. And when that day comes to say goodbye to your buddy, they have the room to allow you and your pet the dignity of some privacy to spend that moment. Living in the south bay and a monster commute, we have tried other vets. The Los Altos office is nearby to work, and good for regular visit and our schedules. Adobe Animal Hospital is wonderful. I have been bringing my pets to this hospital since it opened fifty years ago. My dog Princess has been treated there since she was a puppy, over fourteen years ago. Dr. McKenzie and Dr. Jane Johnson have been treating her recently for a pesky infection. I just received word that her culture is clear! The doctors are excellent and very knowledgeable, as well as being personable and kind. The office staff and technicians are dedicated individuals and do a great job answering questions and assisting doctors. I would recommend this practice highly to any pets and ownbers in need of a good doctor. Read Less

I see the same vet every time and he is great. He listens to me and he is takes great care of my cats. Plus my cats seem to like him. Also, the front desk staff is very helpful. When I had to take both cats by myself and could not find my boxes (we were moving) the desk staff came out to my car and helped me get them out and then get them back in after the visit. All the vets are good. Lab is on premises so no need to send out and wait for results. Pharmacy also there. Have ER vet on call so one can take animal to clinic. Saved my cat from rat poison w/ER visit, lab work for coagulation time, resident cat was same blood type as my cat and got cat to cat transfusion and saved his life. A a friend recommended Adobe and said we didn't have to worry about being over charged for services. We absolutely love Adobe. We love the fact that they have late night appointments available and the staff is very sincere and they really love animals.
