I have brought my two cats here for about 3yrs maybe more and they have always been helpfull. Low income is welcomed. My cats have been spayed and chipped plus received immunizations and I don't pay ridiculous prices. Staff is helpful knowledgeable. This place is not for show but they offer extremely affordable pricing and take care of all your pet needs. If you have the time to wait for an appointment to spade/neuter, the services are worth waiting for. Much cheaper than my local Veterinary. We bring feral neighborhood cats here occasionally and they are treated well and given vaccines while they are under sedation. The staff allows us to bring them in the humane capture traps so it helps keep the cats more comfortable. We have also used them for our personal pets over the years and have never had any complications from any spay or neuter surgery, really love the care they give all the animals coming through.Yes, you can also bring your pets here as well. Great experience. I found a neglected cat in my neighborhood that needed a lot of medical care. Her nails were so overgrown they had grown into her paw pad (very painful!), she was covered with fleas, had a tumor, and appeared sickly. They booked my appointment within 24 hours. The staff was helpful and the vet came out to chat with me about the cat's conditions when I came to pick her up. She was very personable, kind and felt this poor cat was in good hands. They did a wellness check and verified she was already spayed. They surgically repaired her paws. Removed the tumor and sent the results off to a lab to be tested. They gave her all of her vaccines, a microchip, ran tests for FIV, and sent her home with antibiotics and an extra round of flea meds. All of this was under $200. Because of SNPLA i was able to give this kitty the help it deserved and a second lease on life b/c of their affordable care - and for that I am incredibly grateful. I noticed some other negative comments below on the clinic's appearance.  Being a low cost non profit spay neuter clinic, you are not getting a fancy specialty animal hospital with all the bells and whistles - and shouldn't expect to when those funds are being appropriated for what matters and that is the vetting of their patients. Paid $104 total for microchipping  and neutering my Yogi. No complications. The best part was pain meds for three days were included. I didn't like the cone they provided so I purchased one at Petco. The staff answered all of my questions and left the office content. Read Less

Every time I've gone to the one in Pico Rivera for the wellness clinic hours, service was always fast and workers are friendly. I don't even live nearby but I go here because of exactly that. Will update review when I get my good doggo neutered. Lol prices are great for shots as well. Read Less

This place literally has the worst service. The two people in the front are rude, work slow and have an attitude. It's also VERY crowded. We're waiting a long time to pick up our dog when she was ready over an hour ago. Very ridiculous. Don't come here, I don't recommend it. Read Less

Me and my sister have brought our fur babies here plenty of times, never had anything negative to say about them. Took my 8 week year old pup here today and I must say they were so nice! They went out of their way and helped my pup even more than the necessary! Really impressed and happy, wouldn't choose any other place. Vet and the assistants were wonderful!!! Read Less

This place is awful. It is unsanitary and unorganized. First off, I was surprised to see how many dogs and cats were there on the same day. And they don't even require the proof of vaccinations. So if you are planning to take a puppy that is not fully vaccinated, I would say don't do it. The lobby smells bad and it certainly doesn't look clean. I would have left if my dog hadn't been vaccinated. Anyway, drop-off is between 6:30-7:00am and they are supposed to call or text you between 11am-2pm once your pet is ready to be picked up. I didn't receive anything until 2:30pm so I called them. The girl who picked up the phone said "Oh, we don't call unless some emergency comes up." and went to check if my dog was done. She said "Yes your dog is ready. By the way, we called you but there was no answer and couldn't leave a message on you phone for some reason." Didn't you just say you only call for something urgent? And I kept my cell with me the whole time that day because I was so worried about my dog after seeing the place, and my voicemail was working fine. Even if that was true, they should have tried calling one more time.They also screwed up with the procedure. I asked for blood test, neuter and microchipping. They of course did neuter, and microchipping as well, but didn't do blood test. They recommend blood test with additional cost when you check in and ask your consent. And they forgot about it or my application was mixed up with someone else's. Instead, they gave my dog flea prevention which I just gave him a week ago and didn't ask them to do. The instruction is pretty vague too. They emailed you the day before with the aftercare instruction, which says completely different things from the one they hand out at the clinic. And reps at the desk can't even answer which is right. I decided to take my dog here because the price is much lower than regular vets and has good reviews here on yelp, but I totally regret that I put my dog through this. If you love your pet and can afford to go see a regular vet, please do that for your dog's sake. Read Less

I visited this establishment and the exterior as well as the interior turned me away. Once inside, the smell of urine was incredibly strong and disguised by some sort of air freshener. The metal benches that are used for seating are rusty, the walls are filthy and the floor is even worse. You cannot excuse these conditions because it's a pet facility, non-profit organization and because of the location. Cleanliness and sanitization is assigned to personnel everywhere!There's several non-profit organizations that are up and running and do not operate in this manner. When I describe the unsanitary conditions, I'm not only describing the lobby; it's the entire facility. Also, the front end staff are completely careless about the type of personal conversations they are speaking about. While I was there, I listened to them make fun of clients that they spoke to via telephone and that is extremely unprofessional!If the staff put more effort into customer service, professionalism and sanitation...it would not provide a negative experience for several people. This clinic helped my dog so much! I am forever greatful to them. They provide low income pet owners a reduced rate for appointments and procedures. This was the only way I could make sure my little beagle service dog was okay and get the dental surgery she needed for gum disease. She used to not play and was always in pain, sleeping. Now she is lively and playing and wagging her tail again. Gum disease causes significant pain for your pet. I thought she was dying by the way she was acting. She is 5 and everyone thought she was old and dying when they met her. Now she is back to her young self! She had an intensive dental procedure with anesthesia and deep cleaning under the gums to remove puss pockets and tartar. She was on antiboitics and pain meds for a week and now much much better! They ran other tests as well to make sure there was no underlying problem. Very thorough and the vet was especially kind.Read Less

Came a couple weeks ago here to have my cat put down, overall the place was a bit crowded but that's what you expect at an animal hospital. The receptionist was really nice it was a guy, and the doctor who put down my cat was extremely nice as well, she explained everything to me. Definitely would recommend this place. Read Less

I had my female dog spayed today. It maybe too early to write this review as I have to see how she heals but so far so good.  She has been eating and drinking water just fine. I'm hoping for a full recovery. The only downside was the delay to discharge her. It took over 40 minutes even though there were only 2 people ahead of me. I don't know why it took that long. I paid for the full price for the surgery. It's not a big difference compared to a regular vet, but SNPLA charges a flat fee, whereas regular vets might charge for exams, etc.Also I never got to talk to any veterinarian, just the front desk folks who by the way were friendly.I recommend this place, but don't expect too much. Bring your pet, someone comes to pick him/her up and in a few hours your pet is ready to be picked up. You never get to go "inside". Read Less

Great friendly and professional staff. Their services are very affordable for basic care & vaccinations. I suggest coming here for these types devices because a vet can be expense. For example: rabies shots are $10; my vet charges $25. Feline neuter was on $58 compared to vet cost of $157. They alao have lower priced services for qualifying low-income clients. Read Less

I took a puppy I found in an alley to get vaccinated, dewormed, shipped and checked out. She tested positive for mange. Vet prescribed medicine and recommended I use 1800PetMeds. The vet is supposed to answer a fax to release my puppy's medicine but its been 4 days now and still no answer from this clinic to approve her meds =( Guess I have to find a different place to take care of her. Place was really dirty and smelled really bad when I got there. I understand it's an animal clinic but I been to other clinics and they don't even smell bad. You could tell the staff doesn't care about the place and look like they don't even want to be there. Read Less

My first impression of this place was that it needed some maintenance. Some clean windows on the exterior and a coat of paint on the inside could go a long way. I was one of the first people to drop off my female cat, Mariah @ 6:30AM. They tell you to come back between 3pm and no later than 4:30pm or else there will be an extra 75$ charge. I sign back in at 3:05pm, just to wait about another half hour for them to tell me that " they were backed up today so Mariah wont be ready to leave until about 4:30PM", which BOTHERED me because I can't stand when places overbook themselves. I thought NBD as long as they did a good job and my Mariah is healthy. I come back at 4:45 and the receptionist with the largest teeth and braces ( I bring it up because I couldnt help but be so focused on that huge hunk of metal in her mouth that I could hardly comprehend what she was telling me) tells me there was complications, etc, etc and was told to come back in 15 to get an update on her condition. The doctor did talk to me and was surprisingly uber professional and personable. She explained how Mariah may have had some internal bleeding so she had to open up her stiches, but found nothing. So poor thing was cut and stiched up twice. Which really pains my heart. In conclusion, you get what you pay for, 48$ for a cat spay. And I can understand that things can sometimes go wrong, the problem I have here is lack of sympathetic staff and what Im assuming is lack of responsiblity when something does go wrong.I'm still waiting to pick up Mariah so this is to be continued.DAY 2: I thought the nightmare had ended.  I arrived to Pico SNPLA at 6:30AM in hopes that it will be open for Mariah. I ended up taking her home at 6pm and let her out of the carrier at 6:30 when we got home, eventhough the vet tech person reccommended I keep her in the carrier all night. I watched, followed, laid, petted, and played soothing " cat music" from youtube. I didn't want to handle her too much, and about 8pm is when I saw some blood on her belly.I decided to take a closer look at her underbelly. And found a what looked like a hole. From the information I googled, I decided to wait until morning to have her stiched back up. Since, it was not actively bleeding. So SNPLA does not open until 9AM today.  She meowed once in the car on the way to SNPLA after a bump in the road. She has the most soft feminine meow I've ever heard. I never thought I would miss it so much. I uploaded a photo of Mariah post surgery, oh and I had to make her a makeshift paperplate e-collar so that I could get some sleep without worrying about her licking her wound. I ended up checking her in at 8:30 and the vet (It was a different vet from the day before)took her in at 9AM. The vet told me that Mariah will be monitored until about 4pm. I called them at 12pm to check her status and was told that she is stable and had even eaten a little bit. I figured this was good and my cat was going to recover. I return at 4pm and the vet met with me to let me know that she had to force feed her and give her some fluids via IV because she was dehydrated. When I asked about the stiches, she denied they had come undone. I was confused and asked again, but according to her ( or from what I could understand due to a thick accent) they were intact and had only had some fluids coming out. So she pretty much said that she is looking good and should recover within the next few days. I approached the desk to check out and the tech asked me if I wanted to purchase pain medication and antibiotics. I had just spoken with the vet and she did NOT mention anything about the medications. Isn't that something she should have addressed? So I asked for the vet again. When she comes out, I told her that she did not go over the need for antibiotics or pain medication. She replied, yes I did tell you, THEN she changed up her story and said well I just now told the tech about the medications. I didn't argue with her further. I asked how will long the antibiotics need to be administered. She did not understand the question so I gave her an example, like one to two days? She laughed and replied, you cannot give her antibiotics for one day. At that point, I had had it and walked away to pick up Mariah's meds and go. I expect and hope for her to be better by next weekend. Still Im a little afraid that she will never be the same again.UPDATE Mariah has been recovering and has the largest scare. Read Less

This is a wonderful place, definitely a truly non-profit organization, which charges me a decent money for neutering my cat. Their employee were extremely friendly and caring, they will ask you questions before you pick your cat back home. Just to make sure that you have to making an appointment first before bringing your cats there. Read Less

Took our recent rescue to get spayed. They sent me a confirmation the day before but when we got there we weren't on the list. Luckily they were still able to see her. Thank you. I've been able to rescue more animals because I can get their treatments cheaper. Read Less

I've used their clinic before for spay and vaccination of my cat and dog. Drove from Hollywood to San Pedro today to get their vaccinations updated and some flea treatment. After a 45 minute drive I show up to a closed facility. Wish there were updates done to the website to reflect closures. I even called the phone number on their website, the automated system didn't mention any temporary closures. Appreciate their affordable services, but annoyed about wasting gas and time. Read Less

Any place that helps animals is a win! They are pretty disorganized, unfortunately to their foster parents. We have had to make costly trips that could have been done in one trip if they were more organized. Plus, they do not provide as much as they first inform you. We had to pay for nearly all the supplies, food, etc. It is still fun and worth fostering with them at least once. Read Less

I was deferred to this place as a last option since I didn't have money to help my dog. Honestly I took a risk and brought my dog here, she was in really bad shape and the Doctor here and staff are beyond what I expected. This place and the staff goes above and beyond, and their care for animals blew my mind. My dog is alive thanks to the generous, and beautiful Doctor that works here. My dog was spayed, and fixed up and was able to breastfeed her babies. I am more than grateful to this Clinic and look forward to contributing money to this great organization in the future.I was in tears, thought I may lose her and honestly feel that this Doctor could of not helped me if she didn't want to but she did and I will be forever grateful.Call to make an appointment to get your dog spayed or neutered, they offer vaccinations as well for low income families. It's hard to review a place when the staff literally saved your dog's life. It's like a paragraph of words is not sufficient. Dr. Johnson and her staff were magnificent in every way. I was quoted $2,000 for our dog's operation and then $1,000. The wonderful people SNP LA did everything to save our dog's life for $165. Yes, you have to be there early but realize that in less than 24 hours, we had an appointment and arrived at 6 AM in San Pedro, an almost 50 mile drive one-way for us. The staff is just thoughtful and loving. I witnessed them do everything from providing medical advice, to even what I call social work by being there emotionally for the people themselves that are overwhelmed because their pet is ill. It was heartwarming and Dr. Johnson even showed us pictures of how swollen our dog's uterus had become. Gave me details on after-care that I walked out with confidence in knowing I could do it. They took our dog in at around 6:30 AM and we were on the road after 5:00 PM and they were still working on pets. I can't say enough because our 13 year old dog will have more years with us because of the people you come in contact with at SNP LA. Thank you so much for saving Sweety because like everyone, we love our pets dearly and when a Veterinarian thanks you for bringing your dog to her, when she is the one that saved her life.......well, you just can't say enough to her and the great people that work there. Vaccinations were fast, no appointment necessary. My cat & dog vaccines were all about $10-15. Even the rabies shots are are around those prices, and cheaper if its during spay or neuter. Long lines for spay and neuter, get up extra early, it's a number system! Be the first in and you wait long to drop off your pet(s).They close the place from about 12-1 for lunch. Read Less
