I worked at Green Dog&Cat Hospital for five years. I resigned a few months ago from being a receptionist. I can say that working here, I learned a lot of things I did not know before. I learned how important vaccinations are in order to prevent your dog or cat from catching a virus, as well how it is to deal with extremely rude, obnoxious people with big headed egos, in the hood. In this review I'll be informing you about Green Dog& Cat as a former employee and a customer.Dr. Bahl and his staff are the best. We always tried our best in satisfying our clients, sadly we did come across those clients that thought we didn't know what we were talking about. Just an fyi, this is a private clinic and not a specialty center. Many times we had cases were clients didn't understand that we didn't have certain equipment in our facility because this clinic is a basic clinic and not an ER(which has more equipment, since it has doctor who are specialist in certain fields.) Some of the services Green's offers are services such as vaccinations for dogs and cats, baths, certain skin treatments(like mange, scabies), boarding(pet must be current on vaccines),certain surgeries(ear crop, ear hematoma removals, spay, and neuter) which all need an examination before scheduling the procedure. Many people think Green is ridiculously expensive but it actually isn't. It's cheaper than a 24 hour hospital, however clients sometimes feel that services should be free. Well let me ask a question, when you're feeling ill and go to the doctor is your visit and medicine free? Majority of you have insurance but still pay a copay unless you have MediCal and get everything for FREE! Well guess what?!? There's no such thing as MediCal for pets! Yes, there are pet insurances out there that you can buy for your pet but the way it works is you pay the hospital and the pet insurance reimburses you! Working at this hospital I came across really friendly people and extremely ignorant people. I honestly think people need to research and educate themselves on how important it is to vaccinate your pet, and keep it clean. I came across people who didn't deserve to be pet owners and who thought they knew everything. I know the comparison may be bad but pets are like children. They need to eat, poop, sleep, play and they need vaccines and regular check up to stay healthy! And yes, they get sick just like children and ourselves get sick and sometimes they might need antibiotics. Many clients would just Google things and try to treat their pets from what they read on Google, well guess what, Google doesn't always help. There were cases were pets would pass away because it was too late for us to do anything because clients thought that google could save them some bucks. As a ex employee and dog owner and animal lover, I highly suggest for people to really research and may be practice dog sitting to see if they really want to have a dog or cat at home. By dog/cat sitting you'll know whether you want a pet or not. Pets need love and care just like we do, and if you feel you can't provide that than I suggest you don't get a pet at all! Here are some prices from Green's although they do change prices randomly.
