I’ve been a client in this place for few years now and they have in care 4 of my dogs. Last night I had to take my female GSD to the ER where she had an emergency surgery to remove a rock from her stomach this is only a overnight ER so we picked her up this morning at 6 am after spending $6000 they told us to go to our vet to get the dog one more bag of IV fluids they left the I’v in her leg and my wife went to the Hancock vet with the dog. When she arrived they put her in the room and told her that she needed a vet visit for $65 after that they gave her an estimate for $1000 to start to give the dog some fluids, my wife was in shock when they told her that ,this is outrageous no compassion or sympathy only trying to take advantage of people and money even after we spend so much the night before $6000 for surgery they didn’t care at all and didn’t help us or my dog and keep in mind we have been clients in this place with 4 dogs . We and up going to another vet Green cat and dogs where they changed $150 for taking care of my dog that they never seen before . Very disappointed don’t take your dog at this clinic they don’t care at all. Read Less

The most loving and caring place that we've ever gone to. Dr. Fernandez took the time to explain everything to us, was as patient as anyone could be. Dr. F and the entire staff expressed true caring for our ancient cat, who doesn't have many options left, but they are practically holding our hands as we go this and are giving him every option to continue to have nice comfortable life. Would recommend to anyone... Too bad they don't treat humans. Read Less

I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time now but with each visit or need, I fall more in love and am more grateful for Hancock Park vet and DR Tania White!I have been seeing her for gosh 6.5 years now since I got my first kitten Capone. About 9 months ago she also started seeing my second kitty Capulet AKA Muffin!  She treats them like her own and spends so much time with us at every visit, on phone calls, in emails. She is unlike what you find with most medical professionals, human or animal- she's not rushing you out- she cares and cares that you feel better and get the support and help you need. As a total hypochondriac - I am a great example and she tolerates me well, and makes me feel like a trusted friend, calms my every worry and question with education and explanations. When my younger cat had abnormal blood work that stumped her she even went as far as to ask her research community of other vets- totally above and beyond and open to other advice from her peers. I see some reviews note shes overpriced, well she is not cheap I can agree but in many cases its true you get what you pay for and with my cat children, they deserve the best care. Its worth every penny! Most impressively, we had an incident maybe 6-7 months back where my first cat came down with bladder stones and was very grumpy and in pain. I was of course devastated. I followed Dr's whites recommendations, changed his diet (which wasnt easy to find something he'd eat but dr white helped me through every trial and option). He almost starved himself to death at one point and I was back for an emergency visit- even in the case when last min Dr white was booked all her vets as excellent and so smart and kind- of course Dr White is our favorite. Well a few months later I was grateful beyond words, Capone was cured and back to normal and we were advised on long term care and treatment to avoid this again! We thank Dr White for this! She's also fixed both my kitties, seen them for numerous stupid little worries, eye injuries, poo problems you name it- always the best care, so smart, so much time and attention given, and pets back to perfect health in no time. Having a great vet is everything, and there are so many out there that just rip you off and dont give a damn. We are so lucky and cant recommend Dr White and Hancock Park Vet more- she's the one to trust with your fur babies hands done!Signed, Jennifer, Hunter, Capone, and Capulet "Muffin" Read Less

I came in with my pug about a month ago to diagnose why my dog went blind after a relatively small bump to the eye. I figured because I knew the owner and was referred by her they would at least try to help me. Thats not what happened. They mis-diagnosed my dog and prescribed 4 medicines ($200 worth) that she did not need. The next day she saw a different doctor/specialist who said we needed to get our money back because none of what they said was evident. Not only did Hancock park say no, but they also admitted they lied about the in-house optimologist seeing my dog (they said they had a 2nd opinion, which is why i paid $200 for the medicine) and they did not. I to this day am battling via email to get my money back considering my dog was wrongfully diagnosed or AT LEAST a free follow up visit to make up for it. 0 out of 5 stars if I could.Read Less

They are a great vet. The desk workers are sweet and always excited to see new pups. I took my dog here when it got parvo and they did their best to care for her. She didn't make it in the end but parvo is a very serious disease with a very low survival rate. They gave me a couple of discounts which helped the very high bill. As for pricing, I haven't been to another vet so I don't really know how their prices compare to other place. Read Less

It came time for my beloved dog to cross the rainbow bridge and be put to rest and the kindness and sensitivity surrounding this traumatic event was handled with such care and grace by the entire staff. Every person who I came in contact with over the phone and in person was beyond kind and I'm forever grateful. They gave me all the time I needed to say my goodbyes and I never felt rushed. I asked for the IV placement procedure to be done in the room with me, instead of in the back office where it's typically done, and the incredible doctor kindly obliged. Dr. White is a great veterinarian.  My dogs and cats went here for two years.  I liked the staff, and Dr. White was good at recommending least invasive options.  Also, she offered a discount on teeth cleaning in February (I guess that's national pet teeth cleaning month).  The prices here started going up when they expanded and remodeled.I would probably still be taking my pets here if it weren't for an emergency my dog had.  It was Saturday, and he was vomiting and dehydrated.  I called the office.  They said they didn't have any appointments, but they could schedule an "emergency appointment" for double the usual cost.  Honestly, I'd rather hear they have no availability than feel like I was being extorted in a time of emergency.  That day, I found a new vet that could see me that day at the regular price.  I was so grateful (and the care there was good), that I never went back.Since the care my pets received was top-notch, I'm still giving 4-stars.  Dr. White should maybe consider how much money the business has lost by trying to charge me double on one day. I live close by to this Vet.  I called at 5pm and got an answering service.  (They stay open until 6) I explained this was an emergency. My papillon was bitten by another larger dog and the wound was deep and bleeding. The answering service said she would have someone call me right away.  I asked if they took walk-ins for this type of situation. She said yes and they were open until 6.  At 5:15 I decided to jump in my car and head straight there.  My little girl was in shock and crying from pain.  I arrive at 5:25.  I tell the receptionist what happened. She said the docs were with other patients.  However, she would see what she could do.  It is now 5:38. She returned stating they close at 6 and would not be able to see her.  I told her I could wait as this was an emergency.  She said she was sorry they close at 6.  I was in complete and utter shock. Anyone who cares about animals could see my little girl was in dire need of attention.  I do understand I didn't have an appointment.  But come on!Guess what, they CLOSE at 6!!! This is the most uncaring clinic I've ever experienced.  I will continue to let our neighborhood know how disappointing this was. Funny thing is they have a sign in the window that says "The Cozy Clinic That Cares".  This is true. They care about closing at 6 - nothing else. I ended up going to The Veterinary Care Clinic 323-919-6666.  Best treatment ever!  The took my little girl as soon as I walked in the door. No waiting.  They actually care about the animals not the time.  Shame on you Hancock Park Vet Clinic, shame! Read Less

I took my cat Megadave here and we had a really great experience. I booked my appointment via email and Crystal was thorough and quick to respond. Parking was super easy and it was great that it was on the corner of Sycamore & Wilshire because that street light comes in handy when you are driving westbound down Wilshire.I thought it was really nice that they offered free food samples in their lobby to take home and try for both dogs and cats. The women at the front desk were all friendly and accommodating. The veterinary assistant was great and took down all of our background info and concerns.Dr Fishman was so awesome and thorough with her exam and follow-up. She kept my skittish kitty at ease while checking him out. She very clearly told us all of our care options and had a realistic estimate drawn up for us to budget.  She even called a few days later to give us more detail on his condition after she had their in-house opthamologist review his eyes.It was a great relief to not feel like I was being upsold on treatments and no shaming me for my need to save up for my cat's treatment. Don't get misled or deterred by the (inaccurate) negative reviews: Hancock Park Vet is truly a great place for your pet! I walked-in with my kids on Valentine's Day for our 9-year old cat, a new patient, has some smelly digestive issues, if you see what I mean, and we were immediately welcome by the nice ladies at the front desk. True, I had called the same morning around 9am and got lucky to get a morning appointment, since they are pretty busy on weekends. After less than a 10-min wait, we were greeted by a young and nice technician who brought us in an exam room and reviewed our cat specs very thoroughly. Then after another short wait came Dr. Brian Torrance: Cool guy, asking the right questions, answering our own, and performing a complete physical to assess our cat well being and ongoing health issue. Worried about all those reviews claiming that the place was overpriced and trying to oversell medical services, I asked Dr. Torrance about how much everything would cost me and he was very clear and straightforward and prescribed only what was really necessary. With consult ($60), 5-year rabies feline vaccine ($30 - other places charge the same for 1-yr and 3-yr vaccine!) and other services and supplies, we ended up spending less than $170, which is very reasonable! In the end, a very positive experience! I'm happy to say that our cat quickly improved and her symptoms are already gone thanks to one very efficient medication and a new diet given by Dr. Torrance. Two thumbs up! Read Less

After several visits, I lowered one star, I feel their prices are a little on the high side, AND they want to charge you for every little thing, seems like a sales office. Many pet owners are very over protective of their pets and I feel this vet tries to take advantage of that slightly... I'm so glad Dr. "B" (Nicolette Bertolone, DVM) has landed at Hancock Park Veterinary Clinic! I first met her when she was with VCA/West LA and she has been my primary vet ever since.Because VCA is a teaching hospital, you never know who you'll get or what quality of service you'll have. It's often a mixed bag. Don't get me wrong, VCA is a good clinic that's open 24/7 and offers many specialties and they are closer to my home. I'll certainly still use them for emergencies, but I purposely followed Dr. Bertolone to Hancock Park Veterinary Clinic, after being so very impressed by her knowledge, skills and work ethic.I knew from the get-go she was different from the norm. My 16 year old cat (at the time) was close to death, but through Dr. B's care, she brought Bailey back and a year-and-a-half later she's still doing well and will turn 18 soon.Dr. Bertolone may be young, but don't let that fool you. She is really very sharp and smart with an old vet soul. What I like about Dr. Bertolone is that she is very thorough. She listens well and takes time to explain what all of your options are - the pros and cons, procedures, meds, etc. I've also been very impressed that she's such a good intuitive problem solver who not only takes time to consult with other vets, she'll do her own research. Though she understands the merits of well established practices, she's not shy about exploring the latest technology and procedures or a more holistic approach, if warranted. Love that about her since it gives me the security of knowing I'm able to make well informed decisions based on her input.Dr. B also has a sweet empathic side. She always makes me feel as if Bailey and I are special and that we'll get top quality, professional care, rather than feeling as if we're just another number. The other great thing I personally appreciate about her is that she is quick to respond to either phone calls or emails. She never leaves me hanging. As for Hancock Park Veterinary Clinic, I've been there several times now and am very impressed so far. They seem pretty organized and the staff knowledgeable, especially Vet Tech Yonat. She really knows her stuff and offers good advice. Though I have yet to meet Dr. White, I hear great things about her too.I've also been pleasantly surprised with their rates. I read reviews from a few saying the fees were high, but they are low to me in comparison to VCA or another West LA cat hospital. The norm at those places often left me feeling as if I'd just given them the equivalent of a car payment or more for each visit!I only have two less than positive things to say about the clinic. One, though I know the staff is very busy, a few times I've come in and it's taken several minutes for someone to acknowledge me. A simple 'hi I'll be right with you' goes a long way for me. The other comment is regarding their hours. It's often challenging with my work schedule - ugh. Wish they were open 7a-7p at least one day a week.In summary, I'm very satisfied with Hancock Park Veterinary Clinic and Dr. B is the bomb! I am truly glad I found her and feel confident in her care. My two cats are my precious babies and I only want the best for them. I sure feel like I have that with Dr. Bertolone and now with the clinic too. I recommend them both! Read Less

Every person who I came in contact with over the phone and in person was beyond kind and I'm forever grateful. They gave me all the time I needed to say my goodbyes and I never felt rushed.

Read Less
