Only giving two stars because the staff is very nice, it's very affordable and I like the technicians. However, I have two pups and I've taken them both there for regular check up exams and for a concern that I had for each. First during the check up it seemed like all Dr. Brewer cared about was that my dogs had a few stickers in their fur and I told her that I live in the mountains, they get them all the time but I brush them daily. She also mentioned that she noticed one of my dogs had some spots where her fur was sparse and skin looked dry but didn't try to look into it any further or really even talk to me about it. Next, I was waiting for her to notice that my old border collie has terrible teeth and needs them cleaned and her ears are pretty dirty so they should be looked at. She either didn't notice or didn't care enough to say anything. When I brought it to her attention she just brushed it off and moved onto the next thing. Next I asked her about my Great Pyrenees' nose because it gets severely chapped(I think he has discoid lupus and so does the new vet I take them to), she just cooed at him and asked if she gets sunburns and moved onto the next thing. Then, my border collie hadn't been walking on one of her rear legs for a month or so. All she did was give me pain meds for her, take and xray, tell me how her bones looked fabulous so she doesn't know what's bothering her and to bring her back in 3 weeks to see how she's doing. And that was the end of it. No additional research to see what it may be. When I asked if it could be her ACL she rambled about how she could refer me to a specialist in town that does surgeries but she isn't sure if that's what it is. The pain meds didn't make a difference and she was only prescribed for a month with no refill but over time, her leg isn't bothering her as much anymore which gives me more reason to believe that it was in fact her ACL. Neeext I took my Great Pyrenees in because he had a massive lump on his side, which is shocking because he is only nearly 3, I thought it may be a foxtail stuck in him. So she took a little syringe of the spot and looked at it under the microscope. Said she saw a few abnormal cells but nothin active so she's hoping it may be benign but she wants to go ahead and take it off. A tech came in and explained the quote to me and said it would be between $604-$770, which isn't a bad price. But when I asked if we could do a biopsy first(which was included in the higher end of the quote) they gave me a run around about how it would pretty much be pointless and I might as well just take it off. I took him to another vet for a second opinion and she agreed it may be a foxtail, gave me some antibiotics and wanted to see him again in 1-2 weeks. 1 1/2 weeks later and the bump is virtually gone and sure enough it was a foxtail in there. So, to wrap all this up, each time I have brought my dogs into her and have voiced my concerns, she seems like she didn't really give a second thought about them. Just wanted to get them in and get them out with as little effort or interaction as possible. I don't feel like she ever took me, my concerns or my suggestions seriously.
(I also might add there have been a few times where she has given me a 'shpeal about how this is what she was taught in school and that she isn't specialist so essentially said "I don't know how to do anything more than office exams" without using those words" Read Less
