I used to take all my pets here and was very happy until two of my pets got very ill and thanks to the neglegence of one of their doctors I lost both of my pets. This was an experience I will never forget and I don't care that they sent my account to collections I was not going to pay them for killing my two beloved babies. They died over a urinary tract infection that was never treated correctly. In my opinion they don't even deserve a star..

The cost is slightly higher but well worth it at this practice. The doctors and staff are fast at getting me in but never make me feel rushed. They take their time and are very informative.
We spay and neuter feral cats and get them treated if they are ill. Even though we had a big group of kittens last time, he spent almost two hours with me thoroughly evaluating each one. He never pushes expensive treatments or procedures because he knows that we are on a tight budget and these are not our pets. He even referred me to a low-cost spay and neuter.
Last week we had an old barncat who we found Gravely injured about 20 minutes before they closed. They still took the kitty. Sadly, she did not make it, but they did not make me feel rushed even though they were closing. Great people! Can't Rave about this location enough.

This veterinary hospital has been nothing but the best. My husband and I started off taking our kitty to the Manteca vet in moffat (wouldn't recommend them) so we called Northgate vet and they have been nothing short of amazing. Our kitty was given a shot of convenia by the moffat vet to help heal an abrasion that he had on his neck. About 2-3 days after being given that shot our perfectly healthy cat started to have seizures. Dr. Ruthsmith has been amazing in running a bunch of tests on our kitty and making sure that everything in his body is healthy which it is except for one high value. We have had to leave our kitty there during the day time for the past 3 days for IV fluids and for them to monitor him and we have seen nothing but improvement from our kitty. We're not totally sure what is causing our kitty's seizures yet, but we have ruled out a lot of bad possibilities. We go back on Monday to run one more test and to hopefully get an answer. But, throughout this entire experience Doctor Ruthsmith and the vet tech Zaneb that has been taking care of our kitty have been nothing short of amazing and are angels for helping us to get our kitty back to his normal self. My husband and I would recommend this vet to everyone who ever needs animal Care because these people are wonderful and they really have a passion for animals. We can't thank then enough for giving us our kitty back!!!!!

We have been going to them with our dog Meagan for years. Friday night we thought our 13 year old pup had pneumonia so we gave her Robitussin. But our baby girl wasn't getting any better. We called the office and they got our Meagan right in. Turned out our Meagan had Congested Heart Failure. It was a hard decision, but we had to put her down. The doctor and the techs allowed us to wait until all our family that loved our Meagan could be there to say good bye.. We will be forever grateful, and if we choose to rescue another pup. We will definitely be back..

I felt that everything was thoroughly explained to me and all my concerns were addressed. Switching my other two animals to Northgate. My dog was even comfortable enough to eat a treat!!

My kitty is not "vet-friendly" per se. My first attempted visit was a flop - my kitty was vehemently opposed to being seen, let alone be examined. What I did like about this vet though was when I arrived for this appointment, they were friendly, kind and understanding. They even had a pheromone treated towel to drape over his kennel. I've never had a vet give us something like this and while he flatly refused to be seen, it helped him relax a bit and he even came out of his carrier AND rubbed up against one of the lovely vet techs! Score of first visit: Grump Kitty: 1 Northgate Vet: 0. Technical score: 5 stars
Second visit: Zeke (aka Mr. Fight Club) had to be seen because of an abscess. The gals were great (again) and the vet was very clear and detailed about the procedure and what was to be expected. I was very concerned that Mr. Fight Club actually had a tumor and she put my worry at ease with educating me more on an abscess. I received an estimate for the procedure which included: exam, sedation (absolutely necessary for him), blood work, snap FELV/FIV screening, abscess repair, antibiotic shot, rabies, leukemia and FCRV vaccines, out-patient care and haz mat disposal fee. Price ranged (because of weight/size and amounts that would be required as-needed): $390-$476. While I was a little shocked, I remembered that this is the reason why I have pet insurance. When he was done with the procedure, the gals called me up and let me know he was doing fine (being grump and mad at everyone), he's negative for FELV/FIV, and gave me the total cost: $339.50! They didn't have to do the FCRV or rabies because he wasn't due, but included the cone of shame.
I'm SUPER happy with this vet and really love their communication, professionalism, price, and care! Mr. Fight Club and I will be returning when we absolutely HAVE to, but until then, 5 stars! Great service! Thank you!!

Amazing! Dr. Koski was the only vet I could get my hamster to. She was very sick and Dr. Koski did everything she could and made Kanani as comfortable as possible. We ended up loosing her to congestive heart failure but know that she has such an amazing vet to ease her over the rainbow bridge made us feel so much better. They are all such a great staff, they even sent a sympathy card from the clinic as a whole and then Dr. Koski also too the time to send us one as well. There is not enough stars to express how grateful I am for the amazing care they showed to my little hammy.

Got my dog right in and the price was much appreciated-no worry at this vet. Dr Lake found the cure for my dogs rash, the other cheaper vet in town couldn't cure after a whole year of treatments. Not so cheap after all.
She had it cleared with Clindamycin in 3 days flat. Hurrah! at last. Dr Vega is very kind and a good vet. I feel I get the best care for my pets here.
I wish they were open late at night and on Sundays. I should have come here first and saved myself and my little dog grief over that rash and a year of treatments that didn't work.

We have been going to them with our dog Meagan for years. Friday night we thought our 13 year old pup had pneumonia so we gave her Robitussin. But our baby girl wasn't getting any better. We called the office and they got our Meagan right in. Turned out our Meagan had Congested Heart Failure. It was a hard decision, but we had to put her down. The doctor and the techs allowed us to wait until all our family that loved our Meagan could be there to say good bye.. We will be forever grateful, and if we choose to rescue another pup. We will definitely be back..

I switched to this veterinary hospital after my last one was sold which I had gone to for many years . All the staff are wonderful and very caring. Highly recommend.

I felt that everything was thoroughly explained to me and all my concerns were addressed. Switching my other two animals to Northgate. My dog was even comfortable enough to eat a treat!!

My kitty is not "vet-friendly" per se. My first attempted visit was a flop - my kitty was vehemently opposed to being seen, let alone be examined. What I did like about this vet though was when I arrived for this appointment, they were friendly, kind and understanding. They even had a pheromone treated towel to drape over his kennel. I've never had a vet give us something like this and while he flatly refused to be seen, it helped him relax a bit and he even came out of his carrier AND rubbed up against one of the lovely vet techs! Score of first visit: Grump Kitty: 1 Northgate Vet: 0. Technical score: 5 stars
Second visit: Zeke (aka Mr. Fight Club) had to be seen because of an abscess. The gals were great (again) and the vet was very clear and detailed about the procedure and what was to be expected. I was very concerned that Mr. Fight Club actually had a tumor and she put my worry at ease with educating me more on an abscess. I received an estimate for the procedure which included: exam, sedation (absolutely necessary for him), blood work, snap FELV/FIV screening, abscess repair, antibiotic shot, rabies, leukemia and FCRV vaccines, out-patient care and haz mat disposal fee. Price ranged (because of weight/size and amounts that would be required as-needed): $390-$476. While I was a little shocked, I remembered that this is the reason why I have pet insurance. When he was done with the procedure, the gals called me up and let me know he was doing fine (being grump and mad at everyone), he's negative for FELV/FIV, and gave me the total cost: $339.50! They didn't have to do the FCRV or rabies because he wasn't due, but included the cone of shame.
I'm SUPER happy with this vet and really love their communication, professionalism, price, and care! Mr. Fight Club and I will be returning when we absolutely HAVE to, but until then, 5 stars! Great service! Thank you!!

Amazing! Dr. Koski was the only vet I could get my hamster to. She was very sick and Dr. Koski did everything she could and made Kanani as comfortable as possible. We ended up loosing her to congestive heart failure but know that she has such an amazing vet to ease her over the rainbow bridge made us feel so much better. They are all such a great staff, they even sent a sympathy card from the clinic as a whole and then Dr. Koski also too the time to send us one as well. There is not enough stars to express how grateful I am for the amazing care they showed to my little hammy.

She had it cleared with Clindamycin in 3 days flat. Hurrah! at last. Dr Vega is very kind and a good vet. I feel I get the best care for my pets here.
I wish they were open late at night and on Sundays. I should have come here first and saved myself and my little dog grief over that rash and a year of treatments that didn't work.
