This "clinic" is truly nothing but a money-pit for the ignorant. My dog has been treated here for allergies for 7+ months now. It has been incredibly costly, and frustrating. Not one recommended treatment has even helped manage my dogs issues. Each time we bring him back, there is a new answer or new explanation. Dr. Shmidt (hold the md) truly just flails through each appointment, attempting to avoid any and all accountability for all her failed treatments. Today I brought my dog in with open sores on his paws, elbows and stomach. They served my up bullshit answers and said they would be back with two estimates for two different recommended courses of treatment. I asked if I could have my dogs records as well. Well, they seemed to realize that we would no longer be a money faucet for them, and came back with a bill for the office visit. They did not want to offer any treatment for my dog because we would not be returning. No compassion, no care for the welfare of the animal, just after your money. Disgusting. Read Less

Dr. Schmidt is so wonderful and I have been very impressed by her and the level of thoughtfulness and care she has put into my dog's condition. I can't recall a time when my personal physicians have been so organized with diagnosis or follow up; this is a first-class group practice!The only thing preventing a sincere 5-star review is their front office staff. I may as well be invisible as they carry on conversations about their weekend plans in front of me as I'm standing at the front desk waiting to schedule another appointment and pay my bill. Over the last year I'm confident I've spent thousands between exams, cultures, medications...not once have any of them said "thank you" as a polite courtesy after paying my account in full each time. I love, love, LOVE Dr. Ghubash! I volunteer for a cat rescue and met one of the great loves of my life, Sergio, while driving him to a dermatology appointment to see her. She has cured my boy of an allergy he's had for possibly many years living on the streets of South Los Angeles. He loves to come see her and flirts his face off with her. I've been bringing my dog here for 4 years. If I could bring my dog here for every veterinary need, I would do it in a heartbeat. My dog has been getting antigen injections for 4 years and I couldn't be happier. He no longer has to take prednisone multiple times a year for the skin infections he was prone to due to his allergies. They've also removed cancerous masses and used a laser to take off other spots that could be harmful to him. I've brought multiple foster dogs to them for ear and skin issues as well. The vets, the techs, the front office are all wonderful. I can't say enough good things about them and my experiences. Read Less

Today I saw Dr Schmidt. She was wonderful as was her nurse. I'm confident that they will solve my puppy's problem. My issue is with the front staff. As I was paying my bill, the receptionist Skye loudly proclaimed "wow your bill is expensive today" as I was handing her my card. I fully understood what I was paying for as I had signed the estimate, which she had in front of her. I really didn't appreciate her announcing to the full waiting room that my bill was expensive. I work at a veterinary clinic and I had to bring my St Bernard in for a nose condition. Everyone in the office was absolutely wonderful! We had the best visit and my dog was actually happy to be there! I left feeling more knowledgable and well informed of the steps we are going to take. Very expensive and no cohesive plan. Wanted to start three different treatments without possible knowing which one would work, and that is just bad science. When questioned about this 'plan' the vet became defensive, trying to justify the method. As a biologist, I recognize the difference between a legitimate methodology and a profit motive. Further, given the number of dogs that are seen in clinics, I have a hard time believing that each case is a unique, never seen before, stand-alone case, which seems to be the position taken by the vet. I left believing that this is done to make the pet owner feel more vulnerable, and hence more agreeable to their treatment 'plans'. Unfortunately, my complaint is very common with pet owners in the Los Angeles area, and may only get worse given that most vet hospitals are being bought by corporations. Read Less
