Dr. Pam and Dr. Joe are hometown vets. We had adopted a puppy from a Fresno shelter and she ate a poisonous mushroom. Dr. Joe, Dr. Pam and their incredible staff saved our puppy's life. The office is in a former house so when you go you feel like you are in the living room of a friend's house. The Doctors make house calls for large or difficult to move animals. After a few terrible experiences with vets, I was referred to Dr. Pam by my parents.(fun note: my parents and I received $20 toward our bill for the referral) I couldn't thank Dr. Pam and everyone else working there enough for giving my dog quality of life!! Dear Dr Joe, Dr Pam & Team, Our family so sincerely loved our Ace for 14 yrs. We chose MVVC with a searching heart & became committed to your hands, hearts & care. You've helped care for three of our pets for approximately 11 yrs, now a once upon a time story. On Friday, 11-18-16 your journey with our family at such an intimate & sacred closing was beyond heart wrenching yet was trusted even before we entered your doors. We knew Ace needed to be saved through euthanization as he was not present that morning let alone by the time we were able to get to you. It is that point in time now that we will all know as an unknown reason for why Ace was "critical". You allowed me a feeling of hope in my disparity with the finalization of knowing my seeking of your care would allow me to deliver Ace "Home" to an amazing final resting place for his spirit. I'm sure they are a decent vet but watch what they quote versus what they charge. Went in and was quoted one price but when it was time for the procedure price was doubled. Caring, smart, practical - all around wonderful practice. I have an old dog with complex health issues requiring regular visits. Drs Pam and Joe know how to take care of both pets and their owners. I have contemplated writing this review for sometime now, but since have realized I need to write this to help someone in the future. I brought my chi mix here when she suddenly lost all movement in her back legs overnight. I brought her there and Dr Pam did a full body X-ray and told my husband and I that she didn't see anything major in the X-rays that would show any cause, but told us she gave her a steroid shot if it will work will work within 3 days, she said she can usually tell right away if it will work and it didn't but to still wait. I asked her what to do if it didn't work and she said the only option is to go to a neurologist to get a 3000$ surgery that is not even guaranteed to work. I was hopeless and a mess for those three days after I saw that my dog was not at all better. I called after the three days (no one called to check up on her) and asked if I had to put my dog down and she said "well you just have to think about her quality of life" after I said I couldn't afford the surgery. Luckily after contemplating all day about putting her down and crying all day a family friend and retired animal rescuer suggested DR Bell in Rocklin ca who is a chiropractor of animals and humans. I took her down and after one 25$ adjustment she started walking that evening!!!!!!!! Dr bell is amazing and literally saved my dogs life!!! I am very disappointed the Dr Pam did not suggest any other alternative and had zero compassion for my situation! Also Dr bell requested for me to get the X-rays that she had done and after he took a look he said he saw a lot more then she did in them! He said my dog was twisted like a towel and her whole upper body was twisted to the right and her lower end the left. I suggest if anyone comes across this issue with their dog do NOT take them here! Take them to a chiropractor (DR bell is the best!) I would have put my dog down or paid for a 3,000$ surgery if I listened to her. And since no one has called in months to check on her progress from this vet, which shows exactly where her heart is and in my opinion it isn't with animals well being Read Less

I've been going to MV Vet Clinic for about 15 years and Dr. Pam and her staff have helped so many times with the pets, rescues, and foster dogs that have crossed my path. My most recent visit was an emergency trip because my Weimaraner had been bitten on the ear and Dr. Pam and her staff treated Harley immediately, stitching, laser treating, and bandaging him up. After going through a learning curve with vets and a high priced specialist in the San Ramon/Danville/Walnut Creek area, I reached out to our breeder (High Falutin' Poodles) in Applegate. Maggie Laney introduced me to Dr. Pam and the Meadow Vista Veterinary Clinic. Now my story goes like this. Our puppy had a lower canine tooth that was turned inward and hitting the roof of his mouth. The first vet saw it and said that might be a problem. The second vet said it was an immediate problem and had to come out right away and was referring me to a specialist. As I was standing in her office, my phone rings and it is the specialist telling me they had a spot open to see Edson at 7:05 am the next day. I went to see them and I should have asked how much the consultation would be. The "specialist" said it was a problem and needed to come out right away. She spent less than 15 minutes with us and then her assistant came in with an estimate sheet that was between $700 to $900....something didn't feel right. I went to the desk to check out and was hit with a bill of $125.00. Now I know something wasn't right.  I called my wife and said I think we should get a second opinion. I reached out to another vet to tell them I needed a second opinion. They fit us in and spent the better part of an hour going over a diagram and plastic model of a dogs jaw and teeth. He explained in detail the pros and cons and the risks involved. He he said it was a doozy and that it needed to come out...His estimate was $350. His office visit fee...$35...Only problem was he was booked out for another week and a half.  Meadow Vista had us scheduled in for the extraction a few days later and I decided to trust Maggie's judgement. After all, Maggie does know what she is doing regarding dogs and their health care....if she trusted Dr. Pam, that was good enough for me. So why am I telling you all of this.....to share my perspective.... my EXPERIENCED perspective..... to let you know how wonderfully blessed your community is to have a vet like Dr. Pam at the Meadow Vista Veterinary Clinic....Edson had been seen by three vets and a specialist. My experience helped me to understand that a good vet is the one who wants to know how to take care of most, if not all, of your pet's health care. Dr. Pam and the staff did exploratory surgery on my cat to remove a 3/4lbs mass from his abdomin. He is 17 yrs old and it was a very risky surgery to do however the benefits outweighed the risks in my eyes. Prognosis without surgery was a couple weeks. He still has a long recovery but is doing cautiously good considering the trauma. Dr. Pam is so caring, compassionate, and loves what she does! It really shows. Our 13.5 year old German Shepherd has gotten to the point that even with medications his mobility was decreasing. Dr. Pam suggested that we try Companion Laser Therapy, so we did. BB went from barely able to get up to being like a puppy again after the initial treatments. We know have him on a maintenance regimen that keeps him comfortable and let's him be our baby a little longer. Dr. Pam was wonderful during the process. She stayed in the room and explained everything that was/would happen. The whole staff has been exceptional in treating him and also "me". I highly recommend that if you have a pet with needs that Laser Therapy might meet, talk to Dr. Pam and see if it will work! Read Less

My pets (past and present) have been clients of Meadow Vista Veterinary Clinic for 20+ years. Doctor Pam and the staff at MV Vet have been the best! Through all these years they have helped me give my critters the best care. This year has been exceptionally rough for my little Yorkie/Chi, Charlie Perkins, with multiple problems and there have been times that I wasn't very hopeful. Dr. Pam has worked with me to help me help Charlie. I think he is still with me today because we have been able to work so closely together. My other animals have been given great care from MV Vet Clinic too. My little dog Elliot had a difficult problem to diagnose and Dr. Pam took a practical approach to finding a solution for him. He is doing well today. Two of my horses had illness from ticks and Pam and her staff showed up everyday to treat them, making it easier on me. There are several more instances too. I think what impresses me the most about Dr Pam and all the staff, is I know they care about the relationships people have with their pets, they listen to concerns and treat my pets with kindness. I have been a client of Meadow Vista Veterinary clinic since it's inception (at least 30 years).   I love having a local veterinarian within a couple of miles of my home.    I typically have Dr. Pam do ranch calls, though, because I have 3 horses, 2 cats, a pig and now 5 dogs.   Dr. Pam has taken us through two bad episodes of pigeon fever with our horses, several tumor removals on our dogs, one heartworm treatment, a nasty rat poison ingestion, hoof abscesses, one difficult horse that doesn't like shots, fox tail removals, and we are currently working on a cruciate tear in one of the dogs knees.   Needless to say, Dr. Pam is competent, caring, and compassionate. Meadow Vista Vet clinic saved our dogs life. Lacey ran off during a recent thunder storm and was hit by a car. A gentleman notified Meadow Vista Vet that a dog was hit and laying in the middle of the road. Dr. Pam went and picked up Lacey and treated her.
