Our 17-yr-old Shady-cat was clearly fading this morning. We were able to make an almost immediate appointment.  Dr. Cynthia Steele arrived with an assistant about two minutes after Shady died. I just had my first visit from Dr. Steele and Maureen this morning. I had the best experience. They loved my scaredy kitty Jack. :P I'm so appreciative that they both did their best to make sure he was comfortable. You can sense they genuinely cared and I love that nothing was rushed. Someone recommended Cynthia Steele to me and I could not be happier with her care and treatment of our dog Cody Bear. She truly cares about your pet. From the beginning of just meeting me and seeing Cody she only had what was best for him at heart.  He is a pure bred Havanese with major skin and allergy issues. It has been a long road finding the right treatment in the past. Dr. Steele and her assistant, Maureen, are a great team and they have the best manner in caring for you (the worried pet owner) and your sick pet. They listened and answered questions while staying very focused on the care and treatment of Cody. They are supportive and down to earth and very approachable and understanding. I cannot express more fully my gratitude for Cynthia Steele's service. Her commitment to people and pets - or pets and people - is profound. Case in point:New Year's day and our beloved best dog ever is ready to make the jump into the next life but she needs some help. It's very sad, very serious - she deserves a clean, peaceful and beautiful exit. She's earned it tenfold. But - it's NYD and all the vets are closed - except for the emergency pet hospital half an hour away - in an uncomfortable car ride that would end in a clinical environment. Sterile and scary.We wanted her to be able to pass with us at home - amongst her family in her familiar place, comfortable and as peaceful as she could be. Not to mention the stress that having to make the ride with the whole family - and for the whole family - would create.I called around - leveraged Google - nothing I could find was going to make this day what it should be for our dearest friend.I was referred to Cynthia by the emergency vet center - among others. She was the only vet that gave the option to leave a voice mail on this day - and the only one that didn't expressly say, "I'm closed on NYD." On the long chance she might be checking messages, I left one.And she called me back!She heard our story and said of course she'd come - she could be there at 3.We were able to spend the interim with our friend, making her comfortable and being with and around her.When Cynthia arrived she was a breath of fresh air - she took up as much space as she needed to and was ever so respectful, appropriate and professional.She communicated what was necessary, she prepared us - she brought instant relief to our dog and then when we were ready, she gave our pet the push she needed to leave.It was as good as it could possibly have been - and Cynthia made it possible.On top of that, she gave us the time we needed to prepare our pet and to say goodbye. She then took her away for us and will deliver her for cremation and then will bring her ashes back to us.Amazing.And even more amazing, as this was a holiday, when we went out to her vehicle we noticed a dog in the car - and Cynthia introduced us to "Petunia" the dog, and Cynthia's visiting sister! She'd been in the car the whole time and never once did Cynthia mention that there was someone waiting in the car - not a "Do you mind if my sister comes in from the cold" or even "my sister is waiting..."Dr. Cynthia Steele was there for our pet and for us and to ensure that nothing got in the way of this most important event.Again, I cannot express more fully what a blessing this was - what an amazing person Cynthia is - what an angel she really is here. As everyone else has commented, Dr. Steele is truly amazing. She exuded a love for animals when she walked in the door to help my cat move on. It was a painful process to come to the decision and see my little guy deteriorate as quickly as he did, but she brought me to a place of ease that I had made the right decisions and it was time to let go. Dr. Steele is the kindest vet. Her name was given to me by another veterinary office in the area. I called her on a Saturday needing advice & help with my 14 year old cat who had been suffering with diabetes and other issues that had come about with disease. Dr. Steele returned my call quickly and was at my house within an hour. I am new to the area and having never met her she treated me, my husband and my cat as if we had been with her forever. She was incredibly compassionate. She listened to our situation and feelings- and she explained to us what was happening with our cat. We knew in our hearts it was time to put our beloved cat to sleep and Dr. Steele did it with the utmost care and love for my animal. I would recommend Dr. Steele to everyone. She is wonderful. Cynthia and her assistant were just wonderful. We wanted our dog to be able to be euthanized at home in the back yard where he felt most comfortable. Called and they could come same day, and take his body with them for cremation. Reasonable price, quick response. And they came with hugs and compassion and were very kind and supportive. They talked us through the whole thing and were willing to take time with it and make sure that everyone was ready and comfortable before proceeding. I met Dr Steele because she was recommended by a good friend and  my little furry wonder was so afraid to go to the vet.  it made her condition worse to be checked out.  So Dr Steele would come and check her out at my house.  Then as it got more toward the end I stayed in contact and Dr Steele came out to help my most precious one ease into the Big Sleep.  I have been around a lot of this in my life as I have had many animals and I have to say she did the whole thing better than any vet around.  Right there at my house.  There was no upset (beside my own of course).  My sweetheart creature gently lifted into heaven- thank god for being able to help and not have her suffer.Anyway- for something as horribly tough as this subject- I recommend her.  Why put your animal through going into a vet office ? I plan to keep her as my vet from now on.  Also she can recommend specialists if you need them for bigger deals like surgery etc. Read Less

Cynthia is wonderful.  She came to our house on a Sunday to put our very sick dog to sleep.  She was so gentle, empathetic and patient, which really put us all at ease.  Cynthia gave our dog a pain killer on our lawn and let us hang out with her - pain-free for the first time in weeks - as long as we wanted.  When it was time, she gently did the deed and took our dog with her, when we were ready.  We are so appreciative for the care she gave us in our moment of deep sadness. Our dog had a life threatening illness. Dr. Steele came to our house three times eachday to treat him. He iwas unable to move for over a month. He is once again very healthy.
