Upon checking in the receptionist was overwhelmed and you could tell, she didn't know how to multitask or wasn't comfortable with it . I got checked in but still had a question about a coupon. She help 4 other people and took phone calls while I stood there waiting. Finally she got a free moment to help me but instead chose to help another lady who just walked up. I am not the type to butt in and say something but I had, had it. I finally said "excuse me I still have a question and you're helping all these other people" her response was "I know". That is NOT good customer service, at all. Once we got seated we had to was 45 mins for our appointment, with no update on how much longer, what's taking so long, no apology, no explanation. What's the point of me making an appointment and plans on my day off if this business can hardly keep up with their end? My wife and I have both used Banfield for our pets for the last 7 years with nothing but positive experiences. We recently moved to the area and shortly thereafter our cat, who has a severe medical condition, began to display acute symptoms that required emergency care. My wife took the cat to Banfield before they opened and they refused to see / care for the cat and were rude in the process. Keep in mind that the cat was bleeding at the time my wife was turned away. My wife ended up driving to Ontario and they were able to care for the cat. Read Less

I have no idea why they are a 5 star i think its a little over the top because ive had so many problems with the scheduling side of view. Ive had my appointment for my pet to get fixed cancelled 4x over and over and over again. Without even a hint of being apologetic. The service here is really poor. The doctors don't really try to help you, they tell you things to make you scared so you spend more money even though most likely its nothing serious. Also don't purchase the insurance because it's a trap to make you keep on spending money because it doesn't cover any other exams Incase your dog gets hurt, and you can't cancel without paying and Hugh penalty. They used to be great,  we've used them for years but it's not worth the money you spend every month on wellness plans.. Each time you drop your pup off for a comprehensive exam, they ask you to come in at 8am.  However,  they leave your pup caged without water or potty breaks for hours. This is cruel. It seems that only after I call to check on my pups, is when they finally start to do some work. I've had it!! I called and said I was picking them up after 7 hours of my pups being there and then they had not even been seen by a Dr yet.  What a waste of time!!! And as soon as I do pick them up,  my pups drink a gallon of water and are in dire need of going potty. This Banfield takes on too many patients at once and are obviously understaffed, leaving your pup neglected when they get there which is cruel and heartless. I'm going to a different location from now on until I'm free of this stupid wellness plan. Read Less

I have been going to this location for a few years and had good experience with the staff and care for my dog. My dog needed immediate medical attention on 9/11/16 so I called to see if I can bring my dog to be seen. The person who answered the phone was not helpful at all. She did not even asked what was wrong with my dog but I told her anyways. I was told over and over that they did not have any opening and I was welcome to come but my dog will not be seen. She did not care and was not sympathetic at all. She directed me to call other Banfield to see if there are other appointments available for my dog to be seen or take to nearest ED. I found out later on that if a Banfield location does not have availability they can assist by calling other Banfield to see if there are openings as a courtesy. I understands that there was not an appointment available but some genuine concern and assistance would have been helpful. All I can say is that I was very angry and disappointment. My dog was seen at the Banfield in Rancho. My dog had pancreatitis and was very ill. She is doing better and slowly recovering. I am happy with the staff at Banfield Rancho who was very caring and understanding from the moment they answered the phone to providing treatment to my dog. I called today to make a follow appointment for my dog to be seen. My husband wanted me to give this location another chance since the action of one person does not reflect the good care that my dog received in the past. When I called to make an appointment I spoke to a person who was kind and helpful. When I told her about my experience she told me she was in charge and was appreciative about verbalizing my concerns and will talk to her staff regarding the issue. Have trying to get a prescription refilled for 4 days and they have not been open. Found out today a vet quit and they have changed their hours with no posting of what those might be.  I am paying a monthly fee to insure my two dogs health and cannot utilize the service.  The only option is taking my dogs 15 miles farther away where there's a vet service from Banfield that is still open. My Mamas has been seeing Dr.C for almost a year now. He take care of her and make sure all her needs are met. The front staff is a bit of a hit or miss depending whose there but the I love the vet techs here. There's this one young dirty blonde girl who is very attentive about my Mamas. She understands my dog gets anxious and nervous especially around men (Though she mostly see Dr.C due to scheduling) so she helps keeps Mamas calm. She's also very informative and is very knowledgeable not just in general but about my dog specifically.  Whenever she gives me back my child she always carriers her in her arms and hands her to me which I really love! I just wished they weren't always booked especially when it's an emergency because I can't just take my dog anywhere she's not familiar with or else she'll freak out and may have an anxiety attack. My wife & I have been coming to this location for about 3 years now. The staff is GREAT Dr. Pinto & Dr. C are awesome with our 4 hounds. We completely trust both of them with our kids and would recommend them to anybody looking for a vet. The front counter staff is also top notch, our pups absolutely adore Nichole. She's very very good @ her job and has great relationships with all the clients I've seen her deal with.  We're there around 4 times a month. We used to live in Rancho & had a Banfield 5 mins from us, one day we needed to get our puppy at the time in to see a vet the same day. The Mira Loma location was the only one that could accommodate us. One visit with Dr. Pinto & her staff was all we needed to know we had found our vet. PetSmart staff is also very good! Read Less

I love this Banfield!! The care our animals receive by Dr. Christensen and Dr. Pinto always over exceed our expectations! They truly love all their clients and it definitely stands out in the care our fur babies receive. The staff here is just as incredible! Nicole and Laura are awesome! They are so refreshing and its nice to be treated like "family" and not just a "client". We are so thankful to all the staff at this Banfield for many years of awesome service! We have 2 large dogs and 2 cats, and we have been coming here for almost 4 years.  We LOVE the doctors and staff here.  One of our dogs is a bit more difficult to deal with and has some health issues.  Dr Pinto and Nicole are amazing with her.  They give her the extra attention she needs without ever making us wait.  We have never felt rushed through an appointment and they are always available when we have questions. Whether we come in for wellness checks or the occasional random injury, we feel extremely confident in the care both Dr Pinto and Dr Christianson provide.  Also important... when it's time for medication refills, Nicole is always amazing at making sure everything is ready and available when we need them.  There have been times when she has had to get them from other Banfield locations for us and they were ready the next day. She has been extremely helpful when we have had questions or needs beyond an appointment.  Nicole and all the staff here are great.This Banfield group is awesome and we are thankful to have them! We had an appointment for our 8 month old puppy for wheezing, sneezing, and a runny nose. We called in and were able to get an appointment that day which we were pleasantly surprised. We had made the appointment for 5:30 pm. We got there right on time and checked in. The front receptionist had us sign the waivers and weigh our little pup. That part was fine. We waited until about 6:30 and still had not been seen. No one had even came up to us to apologize for the wait or explain why it was taking so long. I know we could have gone up and asked what the deal was, but they should have informed us over the course of an hour. We eventually just left. This wasn't the first time we were waiting for a long period of time. But this one was the last straw. We will still shop at the petsmart store for food and toys but will not be going to them for health concerns. Do your research and find a legit vet. Read Less

Not happy with this place. I felt that the staff had no compassion and everything seemed in a hurry. One of the assistant made a comment about The Humane Society in San Bernardino that was negative.  I went today to the humane society and had the most wonderful experience every. I wish to address the staff, not the company or any puppy plans, just the people who come to work and do what they can to care for our pet families. Loving, caring, beautiful staff.  Ours was a terrible outcome (cancer), but the all staff was so very wonderful! Not only the trained professionals but the reception people too. I will return to have all my pets treated by these loving professionals.  In memory of Jake Bentson, best dog ever.  We were seen by both vets, and they were both wonderful. I love this Banfield.  Dr. Pinto has been amazing with my two dogs, Zero & Tiny girl. I checked out this location with yelp plus the petsmart puppy plan gave a free consult. All the vet tech's and vet really take the time to have your pet get comfortable with them. Zero, the puppy is on the puppy wellness plan and just had his neuter. My little tiny girl also on a wellness plan because it's cut down a lot on costs,  had bladder stones removed. I scheduled them both for surgeries on the same day for work scheduling purposes. They staff was great with calling me before to give pre op instructions, immediately after each surgery to tell me they were doing fine, and the day following to see how the dogs were doing and answer any questions I might have had. All the vet assistants talked to me about both dogs so I really got the impression as to how caring they were with them. Both dogs are recovering great and it's only been two days!!!! Thank you all.During dr visits and post surgery and always Dr. Pinto has made me comfortable in her course of action, took time explain in detail what was going on. She has anawered every silly fur mom question I've had and has never made me feel rushed or pressured. She's definitely a keeper as a Vet. And all the vet assistants are awesome. I approached the counter to inquire about the cost to spay my dog.  The young lady behind the counter said, "Well, it's actually expensive here.  For about $400 you get the surgery, IV, bloodwork, pain medicine (not sure what else she named).  But you can find low cost clinics online.". I'm not sure why she felt the need to convince me that the services were too expensive for me, or to suggest that I might want to look for low-cost alternatives.  This is either very poor customer service/marketing or someone who made some judgements about me based on my appearance.  My personal opinion is that she came off as condescending, and so I will likely pay the same amount at another vet. I have mixed feeling about this pet hospital. The vet we bring our dogs to see, Dr. Pinto, is wonderful and extremely caring. Their nurses and technicians all seem very skilled and capable. Their equipments are up to date, and overall their examination rooms are kept fairly neat. The front counter staffs, however, could be hard to deal with. It seems as though they don't communicate well with the technicians and doctors in the back at all. It's frustrating to always have to repeat my requests to them over and over again. Read Less
