My dog Jax loves it here! He has been coming to Avery Animal for about 3 years since his first set of shots. He now comes for nail trims, non anesthetic teeth cleaning, nail trims and more. The teeth cleaning is absolutely phenomenal and the prices are super reasonable compared to other vets - also helps significantly with his dog breath. It's also very difficult to find non-anesthetic teeth cleaning which is my preference to clean his teeth.The team here is so friendly, responsive, and caring. They also text you before and after appointments which is so helpful and makes it easier to coordinate appointments & pick up if I am at work. They also emailed his rabies certification and regularly email reminders when shots are needed. Even though I have moved to the bay area, I make sure this is his primary vet and schedule appointments when I am back in Orange County. He's only been to one other vet because of a chewing incident - but Avery is definitely his (and my) favorite place to go.I'm writing this review because I requested an appointment for around the holidays an Ana texted me to confirm almost instantly. I have used Dr. Han since I had my yellow lab in the past few years. Dr. Han was there when we had to put our lab down at the house. His work is very professional and you can tell he truly cares for our furbabies. We rescued another dog and haven't been to a vet just because he's so skittish and doesn't like going to the vets at all. So I tried another vet closer to my house but it was horrible! That vet made my dog wear a muzzle and yes he's a big dog but such a big baby. Anyway, I had to put the muzzle on him and it was just sad as he's not aggressive one bit. That vet was just afraid of a big skittish dog. Fast forward to the present and took my dog to see Dr. Han and Dr. Han was so good with him and calmed him down. NO muzzles necessary!!! I was thoroughly impressed yesterday when taking my dog to the Avery Animal Clinic. The facility is clean with state of the art equipment which is important to me so that I don't have to wait days for the return of important results, thus causing my pet's illness to linger until results come back. The staff was professional and friendly. The actual doctor was truly exceptional. He was kind and took his time with us.. he followed up after our visit to see how my pet was doing on the prescribed medication. He offered us various options for treatment and even sent x-rays, diagnosis exam details, etc to me in the event I wanted to gain a second opinion. While my dog's prognosis is not what I wanted to hear, I am thankful that I got such information from a caring vet that I know I'll be able to rely on to make my adored pet comfortable and well cared for while he is still with us. I feel very comfortable bringing my pets here.  The office is bright and cheery.  Even my nervous dog seems calm when I need to take her for a visit.  The staff and vet always follow up after an appointment with a phone call or text asking how your pet is doing- even after routine shots.  The doctor is very thorough and caring- you can tell he wants the best for your pet.  Their appointments run on time and the office staff are polite and helpful.  They offer low cost shot clinics as well.  I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else! We traveled from San Diego to Avery Animal Clinic solely for a Laparoscopic spay and Gastropexy for our Great Dane.  It was difficult to find any reviews of vets who had experience with Great Danes and Laparoscopic surgeries.  After concluding much research, we decided to have Dr. Han perform the procedures.  Scheduling was easy and the staff were very helpful with our questions.We arrived at opening the morning of the surgery and met Dr. Han for the first time.  He and his assistant were extremely nice.  I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Han, his experience and knowledge.  Dr. Han is humble and approachable for a man with his expertise.  He happily took time to answer all of our many questions and we learned that Dr. Han previously had a Great Dane.  Dr. Han was very knowledgeable about the surgical risks of giant breed dogs (wobblers, loss of body temperature in recovery, etc.)  Dr. Han applies several techniques used in human surgery and his surgical suite sounded state of the art.  After handing our girl off to Dr. Han's very petite assistant, our Great Dane saw a small dog coming up to the front glass door and lunged toward it.  The assistant was unable to hold onto the leash and our dog ran through the lobby up to the door.  The woman coming into the door saw our approaching dog and slammed the door shut on top of one of her paws.  I was able to free her paw and we got her into the back area without further incident.  This is the only reason I did not give five stars.  Our dog had scrapes across the top of her toes which Dr. Han treated at no cost.  That was the only injury and although it was an unfortunate incident, accidents happen and it was not really a big deal.  We picked our girl up in the late afternoon and she did well in surgery and recovery.  The incision sights were very small and did not have any external stitches.  They healed very quickly and she was acting normal the day after surgery.  Dr. Han and his staff maintained phone contact with us the day after surgery to answer questions and make sure everything was going fine.  I highly recommend Dr. Hahn for Laparoscopic procedures and I know he has experience with giant breed dogs.  I strongly recommend having Laparoscopic procedures done due to the small incision sites and the quickness of recovery.  We are extremely please with Dr. Han and would use him as our primary vet if we lived in OC. We love the Avery Animal Clinic staff and doctors! Dr. Han is very attentive to needs of your animal. He took great car of our cat, and walked us through what could have been an ugly situation. He was able to dig little deeper and get some expert opinions into the medical history of our baby and treat him. We have Dr. Han to thank for our baby still being alive today! Read Less

Avery Animal Clinic has been great. All of their staff and Vets are caring, thorough and effective. Our two dogs have received excellent care, with accurate diagnoses and the right treatment protocols. I appreciate that they use a gradual approach to treatment to ensure they are not over treating the dogs, while also ensuring that the treatment is effective. They always call to follow up and make sure my dogs are doing well. We've been going to this clinic for about two years now and every visit has been very good. Read Less

The veterinarians are extremely  knowledgeable and so gentle and kind. They respond promptly with emergency situations and have always followed up with a phone call to make sure our animals are responding well to treatments. We have 3 dogs that have received love, care, and treatment from Dr Hahn and Dr Park their entire lives! We would never take them anywhere else! They have seen us through happy and sad times and given us hope for more! We love all of the staff at Avery! They are the best! Read Less

Dr. Park and Dr. Hon are very nice, kind and honest about our dog's health and well being. The vaccines were done quickly and the visit enjoyable. Office and examination rooms are CLEAN. I trust my baby with the doctors and staff members. Read Less

This review is long overdue. I don't know what other people are complaining about but I can't say anything bad about dr. Han! Found him here on Yelp 3-4 months ago when I was looking for a vet that does laparoscopic surgeries on a cryptorchid male. Called their office to inquire about it and the girl that answered the phone was very nice and helpful. We scheduled an appointment before the surgery and again, we were nothing but impressed by everything we experiences with dr. Han and staff.The office was nice and clean, the staff was caring and helpful, and Dr. Han sounded knowledgeable and patient enough to explain everything in a way we understood and answered every question we had. He was also the only vet that our 100 pounds male doggie didn't try to eat alive. He let him examine him which is something he won't let other vets because he doesn't trust anyone. Completely satisfied with everything we experienced we scheduled the day for his surgery, and they were very flexible enough to put up with me changing the date a day later. When the big day came we dropped him in the morning, everybody reassured us he would be fine. Later they called to ask us if we'd like them to fix a small hernia he had that we had totally forgot about, and we agreed. They updated us when the surgery was done, everything went well and we were told we could pick him up later that afternoon. When we went there Dr. Han updated us on how the surgery went, and showed us a picture of our dog's hidden testicle, informing us that all went great. Then I had to go inside to get our doggie since he refused to leave with anybody else (that's our not trusting boy!). The love I saw in Dr. Han's eyes when we were giving our boy hugs and kisses in the foyer after his surgery is something I haven't seen in a vet. There was so much love and admiration in his eyes, so much happiness for us and our dog... I don't even know how to express this. I loved everything about him before that but that was the moment when he completely won my respect and appreciation. It's been two months since our Ape (yes, his name IS Ape, and I am attaching a picture of him in the car on our way back from the vet) had his surgery. He recovered completely in no time from the surgery and is doing absolutely fine! There have been no complications whatsoever. I would recommend Dr. Han to everyone. I really don't know what those other people here are talking about but to me Dr Han is knowledgeable, caring and loving vet, and his laparoscopic surgery was a fraction of the price another two vets asked for. If i could rate NO STARS i would! Dr. Hon is the most incompetent vet i have ever experienced!! His diagnosis consists of nothing more than hearing that your dog is old or your dog has allergies, absolutely the most un-educated vet i have ever met! Dogs go in healthy, come out DEAD! Dog owners BEWARE!! Maybe a dog's life can be spared from my heartache experience with this man! Read Less

I really love this vet! The vet techs, assistants, and Dr. Han were all so personable an accommodating.  Our little Mochi had to extract his baby tooth, which cost a little more than I expected, but it is dental. However, they are extremely caring and loving towards animals. Highly recommended! I've never been to a "low-cost" vet quite like this. We will be boarding him this weekend as well! Read Less

I had a bad experience w/ a Vet who was going do a laparoscopic surgery in Encinitas but wanted the benefits of laparoscopic surgery for my crypt orchid puppy.  The Speciality Hospital was going charge be extra 2k so I started looking in Orange County.   I am so grateful I found Avery.  Nicole the office assistant was very helpful & responded quickly.  The only thing is Mu had to get his vaccinations which I don't believe in getting every year but I had to do it for their requirement.  Anyways he went through his surgery and neuter and was his old self after 2 says.  The Vet Dr. Han was caring and careful with explaining the procedure.  He was very understanding of our concerns and offered a better grade of anesthesia.  I would go back to get his teeth removal with them! 110% satisfied customer. No regrets coming here. I will never go anywhere else again. Ive been to All the most expensive vets and high rated vets in Orange County. Not one of them was able to help my last dying dog. Along with my current 3. I have spent loads on useless vets that honestly don't care and just want your money. This is the ONLY place that will be honest with you and not rip you off. You will be blown away and you will be able to tell that your pets even feel better here. I cannot recommend this place enough, from the first phone call to the follow up there is no other place I will ever take my pets.  My cat had a very critical condition and had to have several tests and be hospitalized over night.  Both doctors took the time to explain and even show me my cats results and never made me feel rushed or guilty for asking a million question or even awkward when I broke down and started to cry. The level of care, patience, and understanding from not only Dr. Park and Dr. Han, but also their staff is remarkable.  Every time I have called to speak with the doctor everyone has asked how my cat was doing.  They went above and beyond the call of duty and made me feel comfortable in a time of distress.  The doctors work (and I think own) both here and at the Capo Clinic as well. Dr. Han and his staff have taken excellent care of my cat. They were recommended to me by an emergency clinic because they have an ultrasound machine and endoscope which not many of them in this town has, and I was really impressed and pleased with their service. Dr. Han has no problem explaining everything he's doing in minute detail, and answered all of my (10000) questions to my satisfaction. I had absolute confidence that he was doing what was most beneficial and compassionate for my kitty, not just the fastest, easiest, or most expensive procedures. The technicians obviously care about their charges--they're always talking to my cat and petting her, and they frequently call after visits to check on her. They're meticulous about going over my bills line-by-line so I understand all the charges. I really feel like the first concern of the people who work there is the comfort and health of the animal, not placating owners or making the big bucks. Read Less
