I bring my dog Coco to see Dr Keigley and Angela. Coco is a rescue and I have had her since she was a puppy. She is very nervous and gets very scared to go to the vet. Dr Keigley and Angela, her tech, are the best! Angela is wonderful! She has spent a good deal of time trying to accommodate us and make Coco feel at ease. Dr Keigley, is also wonderful! She sits on the floor with Coco and really cares about my dog. Coco is like a child to me, and she means more to me than anything in this world. It means a lot to me that Dr Keigley and Angela have given so much to us in order to make Coco comfortable. Yesterday Coco was there to get her shots and blood work and I'm so happy that it wasn't traumatic for her. She's home doing great. Thanks Angela and Dr. K!p.s. I have been taking my dogs to VCA Hospital in fountain valley for over 20 years for emergency and complicated surgeries and I want to say to anyone looking for an animal hospital for emergencies, that it is state of the art and staffed with best Vets and Techs in the country. This is the place! My wife and I have spent many nights there at 3am with aging or ill pets over the years and those folks are amazing. Brought my dog Domino in for a check up. He was just adopted from the human society on monday. Dr. Keigley and the whole staff were so nice and friendly, petting him and giving him treats to put in him at ease. Dr. Keigley even sat on the floor at his level to give him his checkup..he was so happy for all the attention,  I don't even think he realized he was at the vet!  Definitely would come back again! We are new to the area my sick puppy was able to be seen right away on New Year's Eve when no other nearby vet was open. We were in and out quickly and everyone that I encountered was so nice and helpful. The office is clean and even has coffee for pet parents! Such as nice touch. the vet's inexperience cost me well over $1300.00. Wasted time and money. Every month they apparently find something that will require additional testing and just so happens not be covered by the well-care plan they encouraged me to purchase.  Within one year this office managed to charge me well over $3000.00. I had to demand the tech stop attempting to take a temperature on my dog because he was hurting him.  Very unhappy with their service. Read Less

So glad I found this amazing place! They are all so nice and caring. My dog is a rescue and gets very aggressive at the vets office and she needed to be seen for a problem with her mouth. I spoke directly with the vet on the phone before I came in. Then when I got here the vet and her assistant were amazing with my dog. My dog was so calm with them. Dr. Keigley has called me twice now about the progress of our Border Collie who is on pain meds for his spinal arthritis.  Each call was spontaneous and a follow up to a completely different diagnosis.  It is obvious she cares.  It is obvious that she is with you every step of the way.  Caring versus a medical bill is hard to find.  I hope she goes far in this community. Called around a few other vets & I wasn't too convinced I'd found the right spot for my situation: I found a kitty a few nights before & needed some help.I found this place, called & made an appointment for the same day. I first spoke with Rachel at the front desk, really nice & knowledgeable person. She was just as nice in person as she was over the phone. I was given a room rather quickly, which was appreciated. The lead Vet Tech, Steven, came in & was also very nice. He ended up helping me greatly! He answered all my questions, gave me some advice & was just overall pleasant to be around. Super informative!My appointment was with Dr. O'Neil. She's a pretty smart woman whom I'd feel confident bringing any of my pets to. She was quick & efficient, which is also appreciated.I'm very satisfied with my first experience with this particular VCA. I feel like they have potential to be pricey, but seems worth it. Everyone here is awesome, always so friendly and eager to be of help. We recently moved to Nicaragua and Dr. O'Neil and staff helped us with our international health certificates. We ran into several problems with the airlines and had to leave one of our pets behind. Dr. O'Neil worked with us on having to re certify our cat several times. This has been my Vet for all 4 of my dogs. They have always been so patient with my animals. The staff there have treated all my pets so wonderfully. They love the animals and it shows In their work. It may seem a little pricey to some- but it is quality pet care for a fair price. When I lost my pet of 14 years they sent a card. They are very kind people and I appreciate all they do for my pups. The first time I came to VCA Mission Viejo I was VERY disappointed. I felt the Vet made me feel like if I didn't get all the recommended "necessary" treatments on 17 year old cats that I was a bad pet parent. I was very put off and was reticent about returning.Well one of our now 18 year old cats was a little lethargic so we decided to bring them back. Dr Heilberg (probably spelling it wrong) was fabulous. She was informative and compassionate but still understanding about financial issues we may have. I just really can;t say enough great things about her. She has contacted me numerous times to go over the cats' lab work and treatments. I have 4 dogs and 1 cat. I have been a customer for 15 years, when VCA Mission Viejo Hospital was known as just Mission Viejo Animal Hospital. My pets have always received excellent, professional care over the years from caring vets and staff. I have never considered going anywhere else as I only want the best care for my babies. I do have to say that since Dr. Wood and Dr. Priest have been on staff, their personal commitment to provide the best care for my pets goes above and beyond my expectations. My pets have some special issues and because of their expertise, all the issues are under control and my babies are as healthy and happy as can be. As far as pricing for vet services, I find them to be pretty much the same as any other vet. However, I have found VCA is taking steps to make veterinary services more affordable, to help make well care more affordable because annual exams, dentals and vaccinations are so important to the health of your pet. VCA Mission Viejo Animal Hospital offer several different health care plans for your pets needs. The new Well-Care Plan is awesome and I am anxiously awaiting for the Sr. Wellness Program to be offered. I have had great experiances with the staff here. I have a diabetic cat. They have been awesome with advising me on how to care for her. They call or email to see how she is doing and answer my questions. They are all very caring here and obviously love pets. Both my daughters take thier cats here as well as my neighbor who also takes her 2 dogs to this office all at my referral. I called Friday night with an emergency with my cat and they had me come right in and fitted me in between patients. They have been wonderful! Read Less

The vet is personable but stay away from this place unless you think that overtreatment and overcharging are good medical practice for your beloved pet. My puppy was overtreated for GI distress. After treatment and being charged close to $900.00 for one day I saw not one but two vets who verified my suspicion that half of the treatments were unnecessary and provided to jack up the bill. I brought my lab Gabby in for vaccines. Just a normal visit, but I was treated like a welcomed guest with a red carpet. They knew our names when we walked through the door. Dr. Wood came in the exam room, introduced herself and her technician. Both of them treated Gabby like their own dog! I took my baby Jack to VCA recently to get 13 teeth removed. He is a 5 year old 4lb yorkie mix. He is the sweetest most loving animal you will ever meet. When I picked him up after the surgery I noticed wounds on his abdominal area. I took him back to the vet and they said 'oops' we left the heating pad on him to long. They left a heating pad on my little dog, without any protection from a towel, for so long that he had 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 10% of his little body. He has been in an incredible amount of pain and wont even eat or drink. I have him on pain pills, anitbiotics, anti inflamatory, and silver sulphadiazine cream. It has been the worst experince of my life. I will never go back to VCA animal hospitals again. I hope that you don't either. Read Less

I recently took my little dog Jack to VCA Mission Viejo animal hospital. Jack is my beloved 5 year old 4lbd yorkie mix. I took him in to get 13 teeth removed a big enough surgery for such a little guy to handle on its own. When i picked him up i noticed wounds on his abdominal area. I took him back to the vet and was told that they had 'accidently' left heating pads on him during surgery. My little dog had 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 10% of his little body. How long do you have to leave a hot heating pad on a dog with no protection before 2nd and 3rd degree wounds are produced? It has been a horrifying experience to say the least. He isn't out of the woods yet but he is getting better every day. I will never go back to VCA Mission Viejo Animal Hospital again. I hope you dont either! Read Less

Just be advised that that TECH may still be there...smacking recovering patients, commenting and playing with genitalia, abusing her dog....need I say more???? The worst location is in Lake Forest on South Pointe Drive. A full day of no one calling me back regarding my pet who had to stay there with a catheter. Finally around 5 they told me to come pick him up yet I sat there for an hour!! Then another lady who had dropped off her dog for surgery (which was minor and she said she could wait later in the week yet they said they weren't busy so to bring the dog in that morning). She too was told to come pick up her dog (at 4!!) At 6 we both got irate! I find out I don't have my pet because the doctor is in surgery with her dog!! She then blew up as she was told 2 hours ago he was ready!!! It kept getting worse. Even when I got my pet back (and there is a lot of BS in between these lines where I wrote them a 7 page letter of the day of misery I had with them) they don't return calls! No one there does! Even when I inform them my pet is bleeding all over the house. Didn't even care to respond to the 7 page letter. THEY DON'T CARE. NOR DOES CORPORATE AS SENT THEM THE LETTER TOO! Avoid all VCA Hospitals. The main office didn't even care to follow up!!! Go to a private vet because THEY CARE MORE! They aren't pushing new vets into the system!! Read Less
