My little “Niki” passed away on March 25, 2018 because I could not afford the $8,000.00 to $11,000.00 surgery that he needed to live. I have written letters to Gov. Brown, Congressman, Senators, the President of the University of California who has control of the U.C. Davis Veterinary Hospital where I was denied medical treatment for “Niki, “ and to the Animal Legal Defense Fund and to President Trump. In my 15 page letter, I urged them to pass legislation for affordable “Pe...t Insurance.” A special tax can be passed by Californians to provide the funding to provide “Pet Insurance” for Californians. A bill should also be passed to provide low income, the disabled, disabled Californians, and Disabled Veterans, to have “Pet Insurance” to their pet (Family Member). These out of control fees by Veterinarians have been responsible for $200,000.00 pets being euthanized. Between the Veterinarians and the Shelters, California euthanizes 1.5 Million pets per year. It is estimated that the number of pets being euthanized by Veterinarians could be as high as 500,000.00 per year for legal pet owners who see their pets as part of the family. The average Veterinarian grossed over 1 Million dollars and the Pet Industry grossed over 1 Billion dollars last year. Isn’t it time that the pet owners have some say over whether or not their pet lives or dies!! Support me and “Niki” in this long expected battle against the Veterinarians and the Shelters that are slaughtering our animals by the thousands. We must put a stop to this genocide. In Germany, animals are not euthanized because of the murder of 6 million Jews during World War 2. They have learned from their mistake, but we yet have not learned from ours because the Veterinary Profession sees Pets as money, and the Shelters get paid for the carcass of an animal by private companies who in turn sell them to make compost or fertilizer. Niki’s Law I have urged my representative to pass “Niki’s” Law in a concerted effort to stop the excessive costs of Veterinarians and to stop the massive euthanization of innocent animals. Both have profited greatly from our pets. Veterinarians profit from the excessive and high costs of medical care for our pets, and the shelters profit by selling the carcass to private bidders to make a profit. My little “Niki” not lies in a grave because UC. Davis Animal Hospital charged me an excessive fee I could not afford to pay. Your pet might be next. Ramon Magdaleno “Niki’s Father See More Read Less

We have been to this vet twice now with our new pup and the vet and the nurses are WONDERFUL. The receptionist at the front desk isn't as nice or social as the rest of the staff but she isn't rude either. She just doesn't seem her talkative which some may take as off putting. The vet was GREAT!!! She answered all 150 questions I had and made me feel like she genuinely cared for our new baby girl. I didn't feel rushed or like just a walking dollar sign while I was here. I feel the people that work here are very caring and 100% genuine. Some may say they are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. So I am ABSOLUTELY okay with the prices here it worst it! I'm a regular at their other location College Vet. But I've been to this location a few times in the past couple weeks. My dog had  stomach, eye, lymph, and teeth issues happening in a Domino effect . Dr.Bove has been wonderful with My dog . He ended up needing a tooth extracted , but it ended up being 4 teeth removed. She answered my questions, returned my calls, took no offense to my questions. The staff called me and kept me updated. He was well cared for at this office . They didn't have a dental specialist but Dr.Bove did a wonderful job on his extractions. He hasn't whined or needed his pain meds 8+hrs later. I spent $125 just for a consult at a Dental clinic elsewhere , to find out the lady wasn't even board certified and wanted $1700. My bill here was less than half of that quote. They also have some specialist on hand here. Radiologist, cardiologist, dermatologist Read Less

We have taken our dog here and I can tell you that we will not give them anymore money!!!The people at the front desk are good at taking your money, they are certainly NOT good at customer service or being empathetic with your situation.  They rush you and don't ever try to engage you in meaningful conversation about your pet.The focus always seems to be what additional services they can sell you on.  Your pet most likely does not need it but they certainly try hard to persuade you into it.  I am all for selling me smothering but when that is your main focus not the health of my animal.I'm sorry I appreciate a little customer service and kindness especially when my pet is sick.Look around before you come here. My 1st experience was great. Rather expensive, but worth it for the care of my Bella. Sadly, my sweet mom died in my arms, and I had to move to Santa Cruz, Ca. , I had to get Bella protected from the heart worm, and other bad things dogs pick up. Very welcoming people, I really like them, but the person that cut off my Bell's long hair. Bella is a mix of Poodle, Maltese. I got her at the Animal Shelter, now Bella is my Service Dog. I thought that V.O.V. would protect her from heart worm, and other dog illnesses. I left there after Bell was checked out for heart worm, and they gave me a years worth of heart worm meds. which was good, but they lied to me saying that the same girl would cut Bell's hair. Not true, a new girl butchered my Bell's hair. Even though I have moved, even if I was up in Modesto I would not take my love to Village Oak Veterinary Hospital. I really like them, but that new person that cut my Bell's hair really bad is hard for me to continue going there. Read Less

We have four dogs and a cat (our own little zoo...) and they all go to Village Oak.  We have seen Dr. Lake and Dr. Nyugen, and both vets are very thorough and caring.  They really take time to talk to us as owners and to determine the best course of care for our pets--both medically and financially for us.  The office staff is also WONDERFUL and the office is clean and comfortable, like a medical office should be!  They are really accommodating with appointment booking, and always excited to see our pets, who are also excited to see them.  Our male boarder collie used to have to be dragged into the vet's office, and at Village Oak, he just charges-on-in without hesitation.  It really means a lot that they care so much at Village Oak, and that our babies are so at ease.  We'll be seeing them soon, I'm sure.

Read Less
