Im so sorry to say the vet tech was a very nice guy thats the only reason why i give 1 star as although i dont want to give them Shiznit ,far as service this place absolutely ducks. My puppy was seen for approximately 4 minutes by the doctor gave me a false diagnosis and prognosis and due to his 4 minute observation when he should have spent atleast 20 minutes i was notified by 4 other 5 or more star vets if not more than 20 minutes beings my dog was just a 15 week old pup especially after giving medications to see if there was was any type of allergic reaction.To make a long story short we were rushed out literally my puppy died in my lap a 1/2 of a block away after leaving the place after charging me 200$ turned around so fast put my puppy right on the receptionist desk and demanded my money back because that Dr. New my puppy had parvro and lied to me when i already new what was going on with my puppy and hes so very money hungry and also uncaring I did not get any type of apology nor consoling whats so ever! Hes a real unprofessional vet and was so much of a coward did not even come out from the back to talk to me left the receptionist to wipe his a** and she didnt have any idea of how to handle the situation and yes still charged me.this vet i will never ever recommend to anybody for their pet of any kind. Im so sorry to have to be the person to blast these people out but not even a sincere apology nor financial arrangement was considered so for that matter if you value the life of your pet and pocket please take your pet else where for the couple of extra bucks , i just may be what you need to save your fury loved one. Thank you community for taking your time to read my tragedy , just trying ro help the next family from losing their pet and money. Good luck. And my puppys death was horrible by the way.Dont want to get in the details but id never do this if i didnt love animals or care.

I love this vet. I had a sick pup that her regular vet at the time didn't have time to see. So I stumbled upon this place. And I'm so happy I did. My girl had half a softball in her belly stuck, they had her in surgery within 1 hour of my first call. They were exceptional to my pup and treated us like more just a payment. They went above and beyond for 3 days with my dog. And prices can't be beat in this area.
Just recently my 2nd pup went in for a rash and ear infection and the vet was very up front with treatment and cost. We ended up needing a good amount of things and meds for her but shes already looking great 2 days later. So now I won't take my pups anywhere else. This place is amazing it's hard to find a vet that actually cares about the animals.

I highly recommend this vet to everyone in Modesto and the surrounding areas! If it wasn't for these amazing people I really don't think my dog would have made it! The doctor was extremely helpful with prices and you can tell everyone in staff have a huge love for animals!!! My dog warmed up to all the staff and could tell he was comfortable under the horrible circumstances he was in there! The staff went above and beyond for my dog. I was so worried and stressed out I kept calling over and over again just to check on my puppy and the staff members and the doctor had no problems talking to me about my pet and about what was going on with him! Every time I was worried they took us in no matter the time with open arms! They checked my dog just to make sure he was doing ok! I will always take every animal I have to this vet do the rest of my life! Don't let the outside of the building fool you! This is where the best vet in the state is!!! This place deserves more then 5 stars!!! Thank you you guys for all you do!

To start with I should note that the ownership changed recently, and the new owner/vet is not just knowledgable, but very compassionate and endearing. The doctor took us in late evening last week with our very old and very sick dog. Not only did he examine her and gave us his honest opinion, he did an emergency surgery after hours the same day and waited for our dog to wake up after surgery before releasing her. And we weren't even charged an emergency fee. How amazing is that?
A week later, my dog is up and around like she hasn't been in the last whole year. The doctor did tell us that her tumors will come back for sure, but for now, we are just so grateful cos he made it possible for us to have some more time with our beloved pet.

This place is an absolute scam. Took my dog here, they wanted to charge me $260 for "ear infection". He said there were no ear mites and wanted to sell me a bunch of drugs which could be harmful to my dog. Also wanted to "sedate" the dog to look further into his ear. A week later I was informed he had ear mites! That was all, but it had gotten so bad that my other dog and two cats got them as well. Thank god all my pets are getting better now that they are being treated for the correct problem.

I came here because I had a cat that was unable to walk. I was frightened that the cat was going to have to be put down. The office staff and vet were very kind and within a few hours after the visit and steroid shot, my baby was well on his way to recovery. The service has been wonderful both times I have been here, not only that but half the price of the other vets I have been to in the area.

The Veterinarian was very gentle and thorough, he discovered that my dog had inhaled a foxtail and it was lodged deeply in his sinus canal.
The treatment required that he anesthetize my dog to be able to safely remove the foreign object.
After the vet had injected the medicine that would make his drowsy and fall asleep, he allowed me to hold him in my lap. I was also allowed to remain with my puppy while the procedure was taking place. When the Doctor was done, he allowed me to pick up my dog and take him to an exam room so that I could hold him until he woke up.
I have never experienced a vet that was so understanding of the connection a human would have with their dog. From beginning to end my dog had me by his side through out the whole procedure.
It is because of this understanding that my mom wants to take her dog to this veterinarian for her puppies medical needs.
Don't let the outside of the building sway you from the great personal care you will get when you walk inside.

First I am amazed at the previous reviews. So I called the vet to ask why such bad reviews. Aha this location no longer has Dr, Gill. The new vet is Dr. Bassi . I am so happy to hear this as I found Dr. Bassi to be one of the best vets I have ever used. He was a wonderfully warm and knowledgeable Dr. He diagnosed my best friend Pepper as having a staph skin infection when I was told by another vet it was yeast. I was ecstatic as staph is simply antibiotics and yeast problems on skin is very difficult and costly to treat. I also needed Peppers toenails trimmed as he practically has a heart attack if you attempt to trim. So he has to be sedated. 3 other vets have trimmed his nails while sedated and not once did they mention it would be best to cut and cauterize his nails. Dr Bassi did this to pepper which was a fantastic idea. He wouldn't need them cut for a lot longer than the other vets that sedated and barely trimmed them, I assume it was because I would have to bring him back much sooner. Dr. Bassi saved me money and it was the best job ever done on my boy. He also explained to me all about the staph infection, because I had researched the yeast and was certain it was indeed yeast due to the foul smell. He was just an all around great veterinarian. My nephew who brought pepper in with me was equally impressed by his warm and friendly personality. This is great as I live very close . It is a good feeling to trust a vet with your pet, especially when being sedated and having to leave them. I will see you again Dr. Bassi and thank you so much for being a good vet. I am a real customer. My name is Stefanie Vargas and I live in the La Loma area. Just saying because of people that think there are fake yelps. Mine is a real review and I am happy to say so.

My dog was on the verge of death, i had to twist there arm to start treatment while i went to get the rest of the $ money i needed. Not the friendliest or comforting place it just seemed that money comes first before an animals life , they just need to be more understanding and have better customer service comfort, caring, etc... Would think twice before i took another animal there again

Horrible customer service. And if that's as bad as it is, I can only imagine how it is to have your dog under their staff's care- being as rude and disorganized as they are. I had the unfortunate first experience be with Menji, who was not only inarticulate in our phone conversations (yes, two of them), but is as lacking in communication tact in-person. She told me over the phone not to bring in my dog for the heart worm renewal medication, which I complied, but when I showed up in-person sans dog, she repeated several times that this was a mistake and in her rude manner, MY mistake. I tried to get over the poor use of conversational skills, but after she reiterated more than once that I must have misheard, implying that I came up with this odd instruction, I definitely could not take that type of rudeness. One star for hope that they will better train their staff to have better communication skills and customer service. For future reference, Modesto Veterinary Clinic is only a few minutes away and has a cleaner newer facility; not to mention, a great caring staff, to pets and ALL customers.

First off, the price I was quoted on the phone when I asked for the cost for my male husky mix to be fixed was about 50 less than the actual cost they said when I showed up with him. (that was because she only gave me the price for the procedure alone. (no med or materials) Then there is the fact that they are a butcher, not thorough at all! They wanted me to bring him that day! Just 2 hrs. away. But I asked for an appointment a few days later. That was when I was told that he was not to have any food or water after 10 the night before to prep him for the surgery!
Then I brought pup in after we rescued him to have all his shots and a thorough check up and to address the excessive weeping eyes and lungs/breathing. Got a clean bill of health. Vet hardly listened to or looked at him! No wonder when I brought him back for a check up, to be fixed and his tear duct flushed...that vet found him to have an infection in one eye!
Hacks!!! Giving the "low cost care"! What your get..."for your cost, VERY LOW LEVEL CARE!!!! I guess they would be ok to use for vaccinations. I will never take my pets there again!

Awesome. I took my dog here a few years ago when he had to be put to sleep because his normal vet (who I also love) was on vacation, and I'm sad that it was our 1st (and only) visit with them. The vet was very caring and explained everything to me. She was very gentle with my boy and made his last moments as good as possible. After, they let me have as much time with him as I needed and brought me a chair, tissues, and water.

Dr. Gill is great with my animals. He is very thorough, but he also will not put your pets through unnecessary testing just to make money. I shopped around Modesto for a vet for a long time before I found him. He is easy to work with and get a hold of if you have questions. He always takes the time to explain everything and genuinely cares about the well being of the animals under his care. I'll be honest, the office isn't very fancy, but I am more concerned about the quality of care than how well a vet can decorate their office. So don't be put off by the fact that the facility appearance is a little dated, it has always been clean. The office staff is also very courteous and good with handling the animals. I would definitely recommend their services.

Im so sorry to say the vet tech was a very nice guy thats the only reason why i give 1 star as although i dont want to give them Shiznit ,far as service this place absolutely ducks. My puppy was seen for approximately 4 minutes by the doctor gave me a false diagnosis and prognosis and due to his 4 minute observation when he should have spent atleast 20 minutes i was notified by 4 other 5 or more star vets if not more than 20 minutes beings my dog was just a 15 week old pup especially after giving medications to see if there was was any type of allergic reaction.To make a long story short we were rushed out literally my puppy died in my lap a 1/2 of a block away after leaving the place after charging me 200$ turned around so fast put my puppy right on the receptionist desk and demanded my money back because that Dr. New my puppy had parvro and lied to me when i already new what was going on with my puppy and hes so very money hungry and also uncaring I did not get any type of apology nor consoling whats so ever! Hes a real unprofessional vet and was so much of a coward did not even come out from the back to talk to me left the receptionist to wipe his a** and she didnt have any idea of how to handle the situation and yes still charged me.this vet i will never ever recommend to anybody for their pet of any kind. Im so sorry to have to be the person to blast these people out but not even a sincere apology nor financial arrangement was considered so for that matter if you value the life of your pet and pocket please take your pet else where for the couple of extra bucks , i just may be what you need to save your fury loved one. Thank you community for taking your time to read my tragedy , just trying ro help the next family from losing their pet and money. Good luck. And my puppys death was horrible by the way.Dont want to get in the details but id never do this if i didnt love animals or care.

I love this vet. I had a sick pup that her regular vet at the time didn't have time to see. So I stumbled upon this place. And I'm so happy I did. My girl had half a softball in her belly stuck, they had her in surgery within 1 hour of my first call. They were exceptional to my pup and treated us like more just a payment. They went above and beyond for 3 days with my dog. And prices can't be beat in this area.
Just recently my 2nd pup went in for a rash and ear infection and the vet was very up front with treatment and cost. We ended up needing a good amount of things and meds for her but shes already looking great 2 days later. So now I won't take my pups anywhere else. This place is amazing it's hard to find a vet that actually cares about the animals.

I highly recommend this vet to everyone in Modesto and the surrounding areas! If it wasn't for these amazing people I really don't think my dog would have made it! The doctor was extremely helpful with prices and you can tell everyone in staff have a huge love for animals!!! My dog warmed up to all the staff and could tell he was comfortable under the horrible circumstances he was in there! The staff went above and beyond for my dog. I was so worried and stressed out I kept calling over and over again just to check on my puppy and the staff members and the doctor had no problems talking to me about my pet and about what was going on with him! Every time I was worried they took us in no matter the time with open arms! They checked my dog just to make sure he was doing ok! I will always take every animal I have to this vet do the rest of my life! Don't let the outside of the building fool you! This is where the best vet in the state is!!! This place deserves more then 5 stars!!! Thank you you guys for all you do!

To start with I should note that the ownership changed recently, and the new owner/vet is not just knowledgable, but very compassionate and endearing. The doctor took us in late evening last week with our very old and very sick dog. Not only did he examine her and gave us his honest opinion, he did an emergency surgery after hours the same day and waited for our dog to wake up after surgery before releasing her. And we weren't even charged an emergency fee. How amazing is that?
A week later, my dog is up and around like she hasn't been in the last whole year. The doctor did tell us that her tumors will come back for sure, but for now, we are just so grateful cos he made it possible for us to have some more time with our beloved pet.

This place is an absolute scam. Took my dog here, they wanted to charge me $260 for "ear infection". He said there were no ear mites and wanted to sell me a bunch of drugs which could be harmful to my dog. Also wanted to "sedate" the dog to look further into his ear. A week later I was informed he had ear mites! That was all, but it had gotten so bad that my other dog and two cats got them as well. Thank god all my pets are getting better now that they are being treated for the correct problem.

I came here because I had a cat that was unable to walk. I was frightened that the cat was going to have to be put down. The office staff and vet were very kind and within a few hours after the visit and steroid shot, my baby was well on his way to recovery. The service has been wonderful both times I have been here, not only that but half the price of the other vets I have been to in the area.

The Veterinarian was very gentle and thorough, he discovered that my dog had inhaled a foxtail and it was lodged deeply in his sinus canal.
The treatment required that he anesthetize my dog to be able to safely remove the foreign object.
After the vet had injected the medicine that would make his drowsy and fall asleep, he allowed me to hold him in my lap. I was also allowed to remain with my puppy while the procedure was taking place. When the Doctor was done, he allowed me to pick up my dog and take him to an exam room so that I could hold him until he woke up.
I have never experienced a vet that was so understanding of the connection a human would have with their dog. From beginning to end my dog had me by his side through out the whole procedure.
It is because of this understanding that my mom wants to take her dog to this veterinarian for her puppies medical needs.
Don't let the outside of the building sway you from the great personal care you will get when you walk inside.

First I am amazed at the previous reviews. So I called the vet to ask why such bad reviews. Aha this location no longer has Dr, Gill. The new vet is Dr. Bassi . I am so happy to hear this as I found Dr. Bassi to be one of the best vets I have ever used. He was a wonderfully warm and knowledgeable Dr. He diagnosed my best friend Pepper as having a staph skin infection when I was told by another vet it was yeast. I was ecstatic as staph is simply antibiotics and yeast problems on skin is very difficult and costly to treat. I also needed Peppers toenails trimmed as he practically has a heart attack if you attempt to trim. So he has to be sedated. 3 other vets have trimmed his nails while sedated and not once did they mention it would be best to cut and cauterize his nails. Dr Bassi did this to pepper which was a fantastic idea. He wouldn't need them cut for a lot longer than the other vets that sedated and barely trimmed them, I assume it was because I would have to bring him back much sooner. Dr. Bassi saved me money and it was the best job ever done on my boy. He also explained to me all about the staph infection, because I had researched the yeast and was certain it was indeed yeast due to the foul smell. He was just an all around great veterinarian. My nephew who brought pepper in with me was equally impressed by his warm and friendly personality. This is great as I live very close . It is a good feeling to trust a vet with your pet, especially when being sedated and having to leave them. I will see you again Dr. Bassi and thank you so much for being a good vet. My dog was on the verge of death, i had to twist there arm to start treatment while i went to get the rest of the $ money i needed. Not the friendliest or comforting place it just seemed that money comes first before an animals life , they just need to be more understanding and have better customer service comfort, caring, etc... Would think twice before i took another animal there again

Horrible customer service. And if that's as bad as it is, I can only imagine how it is to have your dog under their staff's care- being as rude and disorganized as they are. I had the unfortunate first experience be with Menji, who was not only inarticulate in our phone conversations (yes, two of them), but is as lacking in communication tact in-person. She told me over the phone not to bring in my dog for the heart worm renewal medication, which I complied, but when I showed up in-person sans dog, she repeated several times that this was a mistake and in her rude manner, MY mistake. I tried to get over the poor use of conversational skills, but after she reiterated more than once that I must have misheard, implying that I came up with this odd instruction, I definitely could not take that type of rudeness. One star for hope that they will better train their staff to have better communication skills and customer service. For future reference, Modesto Veterinary Clinic is only a few minutes away and has a cleaner newer facility; not to mention, a great caring staff, to pets and ALL customers.

First off, the price I was quoted on the phone when I asked for the cost for my male husky mix to be fixed was about 50 less than the actual cost they said when I showed up with him. (that was because she only gave me the price for the procedure alone. (no med or materials) Then there is the fact that they are a butcher, not thorough at all! They wanted me to bring him that day! Just 2 hrs. away. But I asked for an appointment a few days later. That was when I was told that he was not to have any food or water after 10 the night before to prep him for the surgery!
Then I brought pup in after we rescued him to have all his shots and a thorough check up and to address the excessive weeping eyes and lungs/breathing. Got a clean bill of health. Vet hardly listened to or looked at him! No wonder when I brought him back for a check up, to be fixed and his tear duct flushed...that vet found him to have an infection in one eye!
Hacks!!! Giving the "low cost care"! What your get..."for your cost, VERY LOW LEVEL CARE!!!! I guess they would be ok to use for vaccinations. I will never take my pets there again!

Awesome. I took my dog here a few years ago when he had to be put to sleep because his normal vet (who I also love) was on vacation, and I'm sad that it was our 1st (and only) visit with them. The vet was very caring and explained everything to me. She was very gentle with my boy and made his last moments as good as possible. After, they let me have as much time with him as I needed and brought me a chair, tissues, and water.

Dr. Gill is great with my animals. He is very thorough, but he also will not put your pets through unnecessary testing just to make money. I shopped around Modesto for a vet for a long time before I found him. He is easy to work with and get a hold of if you have questions. He always takes the time to explain everything and genuinely cares about the well being of the animals under his care. I'll be honest, the office isn't very fancy, but I am more concerned about the quality of care than how well a vet can decorate their office. So don't be put off by the fact that the facility appearance is a little dated, it has always been clean. The office staff is also very courteous and good with handling the animals. I would definitely recommend their services.
