We have lived all over & have used many vets, this one is now our favorite! I called to make an appointment at 3pm & somehow they squeezed us in at 4:30pm the same day, & performed a surgery the next morning on our cat. Not only was the price reasonable but they had found an additional growth & took care of it free of charge. The doctor & staff are very experienced & caring & the facility is clean. While I was paying for the procedure, the front office gave us free samples of Hill’s px cat food to try out & a blanket for our cat. They are the best!!! Read Less

We had a great experience with Aguajito last week. Our pup (1.5 year old Boxer mix) had some weepy eyes so we booked an appointment to figure it out. They took care of us quickly and for a great price! We really appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff. My doggie liked the doctor - yay! I am so grateful to Dr. Williams and his staff for the excellent care that has always been given to my beloved chihuahua. He recently was very ill and had to have his eye surgically removed. The care, compassion, and tremendous attention to detail was so greatly appreciated. I truly believe that Dr. Williams' willingness to perform surgery saved his life. I would also like to mention that Lindsay Lieder has consistently gone above and beyond in providing excellent service and care to my beloved little dog. She is present, extremely knowledgeable, efficient and impeccable. She truly wants to ensure that your pets are given the best care and service possible. I greatly appreciate this! My little guy adores her and trusts her to draw blood, take his weight, cut his nails etc. She has the ability to calm him immediately! This vet staff is so friendly and welcoming. We brought our 5 month old puppy in and he had some skin issues and they ran several tests and really examined him to make sure they covered all the bases. I took my 7 year old German shepherd to Aquajito vet hospital on 10th street and I couldn't be more disappointed with the service.  We took Rudy for an annual check, but he had been battling some itchy eyes with discharge for a few weeks.  I didn't know if the soberanes fire was contributing to it or if it was something else.  I figured it was a good time to see a vet.  The vet, Dr Thomas Williams is no younger than 85 years old and can barely handle the pet or speak clearly.  He has zero bedside manner or personality.  The only word he grumbled was conjunctivitis.  That being said, I would NEVER recommend this vet to anyone.  I think we all deserve at least a little more effort and energy when we pay someone for their services and especially when dealing with the healthy of our family members. Okay so to start this review off I just have to say I really don't aim these comments at just anyone person, all what I am about to say goes for the whole place. Now it was probably over a year ago when this all happened. My family and I have been going to this vet since 05 when we had our family members dog and keep in mind we hardly ever would have to go to the vet so that is probably why we never knew how bad it was. So the first time they messed up was when they left me sitting in a stuffy room for over an hour! BECAUSE THEY FORGOT ABOUT MY DOG AND I!! They flipping forgot! And this next part is why I'll never go there again and always urge people to not go there! My dog was throwing everything up! Anytime she drank something she would throw it up! Anytime she eat something she would throw it up! Now this caused her to lose weight rapidly so I took her to the vet and they said she was fine. Just put her bowl up higher because maybe her throat was swollen. So I try this and to no surprise it does not help. So I go back and they decided to take blood. So I am waiting for the results so I can get her healthy once again! Couple days pass and they call and tell me I need to come in so they can get more blood because supposedly my dogs blood was hard to use! Now this happened a lot of times, I had to go back 6 times! So they finally get her blood after so many try's and I am told she is fine! Nothing to worry about! Then I decided to go to the vet down near cannery row and within in second the doctor says it's probably cancer. And she was right and with some chemo therapy I was able to keep my best friend for a couple more months...now she sits in a little box near my bed. Read Less

I was really worried about finding someone I trusted, but the experience was fantastic. Vanessa at the front desk was so sweet and the rest of the staff was amazing as well. My Dad has been bringing his Shih-Tzus to see Dr. Williams for years, and so when I moved here, I brought my Shih-Tzu, Stormy there. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, and Dr. Williams is super sweet and she liked him a lot.She had to go in last week for shots and exam, and since Dr. W was out of town, she saw Dr. Haley Barno. I think they fell in love with each other! Dr. Barno, and the assistant (can't remember her name), that Stormy, who NEVER takes treats from anyone but myself and my Dad, actually took treats from both of them!!When we moved I was a little nervous that we wouldn't find a vet that we liked as much as her old one, but we definitely did and couldn't be happier! We've been at Aguajito for almost two years now so we've had several things taken care of by Dr. Williams.  Routine exams, surgery, and even a euthanasia.  We absolutely love Dr. Williams.  He is so full of wisdom and genuinely cares about my animals.  As far as his staff it has been hit or miss.  The office staff seems a little unorganized most of the time,  Also, there used to be a front desk girl that was blatantly rude but I don't think she's there anymore.  All in all Dr. Williams' expertise is well worth the little bit of disorder at the front desk. Our beloved cat died while under the care of Dr. Williams. We took him in on a Wednesday after we noticed he had stopped eating and was lethargic. My first impression of Dr. Williams was not a good one. He seemed tired and irritable and only mumbled lowly when he spoke. It was difficult to understand what the problem with our kitty was because Dr. Williams spoke almost apathetically about his condition. He told us (from what I could gather) "You have a sick cat. He has an enlarged heart and has fluids in his chest". I asked how serious it was and if it could be treated? He seemed unsure and said they were going to get a sample of the fluid to have it analyzed and send the X-rays to a heart specialist for further evaluation. I asked if we should worry about out cat dying because he hadn't eaten or had water for almost 2 full days. He said "cats need water more than they need food", but didn't offer an IV or any remedy to get our kitty fed or hydrated. And that was it. He took our cat to remove the fluid (how much, I don't know) and had his assistant bring him back to us and set an appointment with a heart specialist for the following Wednesday. When I told his assistant I had lots of questions, she said the doctor "just stepped out" and would call us back so he could answer any questions. He never called us. They sent us home with our very sick cat and had us bring him back the following day to start his medication. Again, the doctor was unavailable. After another night of not eating and looking very frail, we called Dr. Williams' office to ask what we could do about food and hydration. They asked us to bring him in again and finally gave him IV fluids and gave us some food and syringes to feed him with [WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE FROM THE START]. This was all for nothing. Our kitty died that night while we slept, most likely from heart failure. We'll never know because Dr. Williams NEVER explained to us anything about his condition or what his chances were. Everything we learned about "enlarged hearts" and "fluids in the chest" we had to find on the internet. We are devastated by the loss of our kitty, who was like a member of the family. We now wonder if he might still be alive had we gone elsewhere, or at least died with a little more dignity and with a chance to say goodbye. Dr. Williams NEVER ONCE told us how serious the problem was [or might be], leaving us thinking that our cat might recover. He never offered any solutions to keep our kitty fed and hydrated (until we asked for a third time) and the front office staff seemed disinterested and unprofessional. There was no communication whatsoever. When I called to cancel the heart specialist appointment after our cat's death, they apologized for our loss, but 2 hours later they called to ask how our kitty was doing?? Absolute worst. Read Less

Two weeks ago I adopted my puppy Cooper from the SPCA. The SPCA gave me a paper with a list of veterinarians that would perform a free wellness exam. Aguajito Veterinary Hospital is the first name on the list and pretty close to home. So, I gave them a call. I easily scheduled an appointment on a Saturday, which was great because I work M-F. Very convenient.When I arrived to Cooper's appointment the front desk staff was very welcoming and very friendly and loving with him. When we got into our room it wasn't to long of a wait for the assistant to come in. I explained to the assistant that Cooper had been dewormed by the SPCA, but was still having tapeworm segments coming out during elimination. I explained my concerns about the tapeworms as he had been sleeping indoors and relaxing on couches for the past week. The assistant eased my paranoia and explained everything I needed to know about tapeworms. She was also very gentle and loving with Cooper, he was happy to have her help him. I also showed her Cooper's furless patch that was on his face when I adopted him, and she was sure to take note of it and pass the information on the the doctor.When Dr. Thomas Williams came into the room, right away I knew by the way he interacted with my pup that he has a genuine love for animals. He played with Cooper for a few minutes and let him know that he meant no harm and everything would be okay. He did Coopers wellness exam and clipped his nails too! He then took Cooper to the back and scraped his patch on his face to make sure it wasn't mites. He brought Cooper back and said it wasn't mites. He prescribed tapeworm medicine, a topical cream for the patch, and flea/tick medicine. I was very happy with Dr. Williams' pleasant attitude and services. He was awesome.I went into the veterinary expecting to spend at least $100 or more because I know taking care of animals health can be expensive. I was so happy to walk out only spending $80. We have two great Danes who've never had a solid vet bc no one really stood out enough. In six yrs of their life this is the nicest place we've been. It's got a small family feel to it, with friendly supportive staff and Dr Williams was so kind. Our Dane had a bladder infection and peed all over their floor twice. I felt horrible but they didn't even flinch and even tried comforting him. Dr. Williams even took me through the blood analysis results to explain them all which no one had ever offered to freely explain. That gave me a peace of mind when knowing why I needed what work done. I think we've found our first permanent vet we can call our own. Would highly recommended them!Read Less

Excellent facility, but more than that, everyone there works from the deep spirit of service. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Dr. Tom and staff. My cat loves Dr Tom and nurses. She is completely comfortable there which is a huge factor for us. And their Saturday immunization clinic offers great rates comparable to SPCA. The hospital is equipped to do digital x-ray and blood tests in-house which is a life saver when things need to move along. They sell quality pet foods as well.Read Less

Due to the fact that I am new to the area, my dogs were in need of their vaccinations so this place came recommend by my vet from my old city that I moved from. I called and made the appt to have both of my dogs get their shots and its funny cause never did they mention that they charge $45-50 per dog a annual health fee ( according to them they charged this to determine if your dog is healthy in order to get vaccinated) So what I thought would be a simple $50 for both dogs turned into well over $100.... They charged $60 to look at it and then another $31 for Pad Tough Spray ($10 on Amazon). On top of that the receptionist was rude and audibly huffed when we walked in. We have been clients of Dr. Williams for 25 years. When our first golden retriever Bahama had to be put to sleep, Dr. William's associate, and a staff member waited until 6:30pm to put Bahama to sleep in order to give my husband time to go and get our older son. Their kindness allowed our son to say good-bye to the dog who had always been by his side. When our second golden Matagi suddenly developed lung cancer, and was bleeding internally, the staff was once again full of heart. We were allowed to wait for our younger son to drive from school into Monterey in order to say good-bye. We now have golden #3, Cayman, and #4 Bokissa. On December 3 Cayman suffered a FCE, which is a stroke in the spinal cord. He was a quadriplegic for almost a month. The care that Cayman received during his darkest hours was extraordinary! I'd rather give positive reviews than negative, but can't do that this time.  :-(  Took my cat with a swollen jaw here, pretty sure it was an abcessed tooth, and was told it was allergies!  They gave me antibiotics for another condition and told me to come back in 2 days for a recheck.  Second visit was diagnosed with the abcess, which they drained and I got an estimate for oral surgery.  Yikes!  Really?  Rather than pawn something I got a second estimate elsewhere and had it done for almost half what they quoted and even got her nails clipped while she was in surgery.  In addition to their high prices, the vet tech was not personable at all and the original diagnosis was wrong.  I won't be back. If you care about your dogs health... DON'T BRING HIM HERE!  We took our dog to Aguajito Vet Hospital because he had stopped eating and was vomiting constantly. They kept him overnight, hydrated him, and gave him a variety of test that included a series of x rays and came up with nothing. Sent him home with soft food and antibiotics. Within 2 days the previous symptoms had returned. We rushed him to emergency clinic where it was discovered that he had a severe stomach obstruction. Let me clarify to you that it took ONLY ONE X-RAY to show the blockage.Luckily, they performed emergency surgery which saved my dogs life! Read Less
