Great Vet and staff! Brought my new kitten in and each time they are so very friendly and loving towards her. When she gets her shots they give her treats to distract her and she has no idea she just got a shot. They make great suggestions on products and everything is always affordable. I've taken my greatly beloved cat of 7+ years here previously and returned for a checkup, which included a urine sample. They gave me a plastic bag full of reading material, a small amount of sand to replace the litter in her cat box, and a vial to collect it and return- a time consuming hassel which have never encountered previously, anywhere. The bill was over $400. In the last 6 months we were in Santa Barbara and the same services were $75. less without the hassle of the bag of material/sand, etc. My cat would not use the sand/litter provided. I repackaged that part and returned--for a refund of $7.00. The woman was rude about it. We will not be returning. Read Less

Dr. Marcus was our fourth try for a vet to diagnose my cat that was ripping her fur out, causing sores and general skin problems all over her body. Three vets had brushed off my concerns as "helicopter parenting" and told me that she just had general anxiety. None of the meds they prescribed helped. Dr. Marcus took one look at my girl and said "Allergies, obviously." She prescribed us new meds to deal with the allergies and my cat is covered in FUR again. She's back to playing, eating, and talking constantly- all things this unbearable itchiness had stolen from her. We went from discussing the unimaginable: poor quality of life, what can we do? The doctor and the staff are great and knowledgeable. I have a lot of cats and kittens and I can always get a fast appointment if I need it and they're caring and helpful. Most important is that they don't take my kitty away to do tests and scare them. I can stay with my kitty in the exam room and they bring the necessary stuff and tell me what they're doing and explain the options. Read Less

Dr. Marcus, Kim, Claudia, Nicole and all her staff are wonderful! They have treated our cats like their own. I appreciate that they can run so many tests in house and get results quickly. One of the things I like best is that Dr. Marcus takes time to educate us on a condition and on the options for treatment and possible outcomes. However, ultimately, she lets us decide the best course of action -- I never feel pressured. Regarding costs, I've done the homework and they are comparable to others in the area and one has to consider that an x-ray or diagnostic costs the same whether working on a human or animal; its just that humans are often insulated by insurance. If money is a problem, be honest about it -- look into pet insurance and if you simply want to know costs up front, just ask -- the staff is very forthcoming. Most of all, I appreciate that Dr. Marcus has come to our home each time it has been time to say goodbye to one of our beloved kitties at the end of their long (18, 19 and 21 year olds) happy, and delightful spoiled lives. She has helped us to recognize the signs of their being ready to move on before they begin suffering. You want a vet that won't take advantage of your fragile emotions at this time and prescribe further treatment that makes them live a few days longer even as they may begin to suffer while your vet makes make a few extra dollars. Dr. Marcus can look at your cat and help you know when it's time to say when. (For that matter, our cats were experts at letting us know as well -- they face death so much more calmly than we do.) While I miss each of our babies so much, I feel so at good that they died in our home and in our arms so peacefully and with dignity.
