The entire team from Dr. Gonda and Dr. Villanova, all of the vet techs, Stuart, Alfonso, Courtney, Melissa to the lovely ladies up front, Jackie and Annie made our experience so wonderful. I brought my golden retriever in when he was having health issues. He was diagnosed with cancer and the doctor and entire staff were so sweet. They helped so much the entire time. I love this place! I have been coming here since Dr. Gonda opened his practice, years ago, and I have never been sorry. I can be pretty emotional about my dogs, they are family, and the entire staff has been nothing but kind and supportive. From puppies to senior dogs, all of my dogs have received excellent care. I have referred all of my friends here. The staff is easy to talk to and always explains all treatment options with me. Whenever I have had to put one of my animals to "sleep", everyone at Arroyo has been incredibly compassionate, making a hard situation much easier. They even sent a sympathy card signed by everyone. my dog was misdiagnosed, we weren't told the severity of his condition and he ended up dying. as a pet owner, you put your trust in the vet to take care of your loved animals  and tell you when something is wrong but this place brushed off his condition and sent him back home to suffer for 2 weeks. conejo valley veterinary hospital saved him long enough for us to say good bye but had he been treated sooner he might still be here today. Well our 13 year old cat "Fat Boy" cut his paw and it would not stop bleeding for weeks we changed the bandage and kept him inside (he is an outside cat) nothing helped. We took him to the vet we, well used to use they checked it out and said it was a type of cancer and they needed to to do tests and blood work and then probably amputate his leg or put him down at that point we would have be into it for thousands of dollars without a resolve.Step in My youngest daughter who interned at Arroyo Vista Vet during high school. she said " hey why don't you take him in there they are very good at taking care of the critters.we made an appointment and saw Dr. Gonda he checked out the foot and laid out a plan that was both reasonable for an old cat and didn't break the bank.Dr. Gonda opted to do blood work first to see if the cat was even in good enough health to move forward at all. The tests came back and he was very healthy the next step biopsy the cut pad on his foot. he did give us the possible options of just a minor surgery of removing the pad or worst case scenario remove the leg.The biopsy came back as a benign tumor and local to the pad so he remove just the pad and Fat boy is back to normal, next week he will be going outside for the first time in 3 months.Thanks to Dr. Gonda and the Staff at Arroyo Vista Veterinary Hospital very professional, caring and friendly.Oh, and it didn't break the bank. My wife and I have been taking our dogs to Dr Gonda since he bought the clinic over 10 years ago. Both his staff and him are extremely skilled and equally compassionate. This clinic is not a mill, as Dr Gonda and his staff will take the necessary time not only to diagnose and treat your pet, but also afford the time you need to ask questions and explain the options for treatment.  We drive a few extra miles to see Dr Gonda, but I would never take my dogs anywhere else. I was ready to switch vets and Arroyo Vista came recommended to me by classmates - and I'm SO glad I gave them a try. When it was time for my cat's annual checkup and vaccines, I made the appointment at AVV. The office staff and vet techs were all very warm and courteous and my wait time was more than reasonable - a HUGE step up from my previous vet! Dr. Gonda listened to my concerns and was clear, honest, and informative.When my cat had an unusually bad reaction to the vaccinations (which is uncommon but not unheard of) and was extremely lethargic, vomiting, and refusing food and water altogether, Dr. Gonda not only personally took my call but asked me to bring my cat back so that he could be given subcutaneous fluids, Benadryl, and an anti-nausea medication 100% free of charge. Within two hours he was his normal self again. The office even called me first thing the next morning to see how my cat was doing.Vets this attentive and personable can be hard to come by. These crooks don't even deserve 1 star!! If I could/knew where to report these evil "vets" that don't know anything I would! They try to rip you off and contradict themselves in everything they tell you your pet needs. If your waiting on a call back good luck! They never help you out all they care about is your money. They make you come back for bs appointments before they can prescribe anymore medication. All they do with these appointments is feel your pet and take its temperature! They show no love and care for animals. I believe they just go to work for a paycheck. If you want your pet to get better take them somewhere else!! All they do is give attitude including their receptionist. I'm telling you this place is no good stay away!!! Owning a Greyhound is wonderful.  Perfect dog in my opinion!  Our retired racer rescue rarely has health issue but when she suddenly started limping I panicked.  Being new to the area we had not yet established a doctor for our girl Cleo.  Finding veterinarians who understand Greyhound physiology is super important so I started googling and fortunately I found  Arroyo Vet Hospital.  Dr. Youngblood and her staff did such a great job examining, X-raying, and treating Cleo.  She is taking meds for arthritis and feeling much better now!  Going back to get her teeth cleaned very soon. I am so über happy that I finally found a great, friendly-staff, and helpful vet. Since I hadn't had any luck finding one near our place, I decided to look around my parents house. I was a little worried they would be closed during Thanksgiving weekend, but I called a few weeks prior and was able to get my pup in Saturday morning. From the moment we walked in, both of the office staff greeted us with a genuine hello. It always amazes me, when I walk into a vet (this has happened the last few vets we've been to), and the staff have that resting-bitch-face and don't say hello. Now, I know I look young and you're probably guessing I'm in my teens, but really? I digress...the front office is very inviting, not only to pet owners, but pets. I love the tables that are made to look like logs! They also have a kitty and a dog section of toys/food. And they have Keurig, so you can enjoy a cup of coffee while you wait. After filling out some paperwork and grabbing a coffee, we were called into one of the back rooms. The room in the back was a pretty small room, but honestly not much room is needed unless you have a large dog. One thing I thought was a little weird was a sign that was placed on top of the table that stated the counters were wiped down and disinfected. It felt a little hotel-ish to me. I guess I just assume all vets did that...but still, its nice to know they are proactive and wanting to be informative. We waited in the back room for a few minutes and a very sweet veterinarian came in and introduced herself to us and was very friendly! She was pretty quick and we were surprised at how quick we were in and out. Another thing I thought was a little weird was they took our pup to a different room to get all of his shots and blood work done. Either way, our pup seemed to do well and the whole process was painless...well for my hubs and I at least. From the moment we stepped inside the vet and out, we were there for a total of 30 minutes. For the total visit, we paid a little over $200 for the office visit, three vaccinations, heart worm test and meds (for a year). I would highly recommend this vet! Read Less

I have had to put down several dogs with them and they have been very compassionate. They readily take emergencies during open hours and know the best facilities for after hours. I started going here because my other vet was in Ventura and I wanted one more locally.  I randomly chose Arroyo Vista and was sure glad I did.  They have the nicest staff and Dr. Gonda is top notch.  He tells you like it is.  They aren't the cheapest vet, but they also aren't the most expensive.  They have mid-level prices, but the knowledge and compassion that you get from the entire staff is worth it!A couple years ago my Newfoundland Sebastian got really sick and needed surgery.  With his history of bad reactions to anesthesia, I was terrified. Dr. Gonda did everything he could to help me figure out the most important and affordable tests I could have done to give me peace of mind, and when he finally performed the operation, everything went smoothly.Then again, last summer when Sebastian had heat stroke and i had to rush him there as he was gasping for breath, they were quick to treat him and did everything possible to return his body temperature and vitals back to normal.  It was so serious that he almost died a few times, but with their quick and skilled thinking, they were able to bring him back from almost certain death.Unfortunately, he passed away later that day due to a blood clot [a side effect of heat stroke, and no fault of theirs] and they were so sympathetic. They allowed us to go in the back and spend as much time as we wanted to say our goodbyes.  Dr Gonda personally dealt with us afterwards and was very sensitive to our emotions as he presented us with our options for cremation.During one of the most difficult times in my life, I am glad that Dr Gonda and the entire Arroyo Vista Veterinary staff were there for me.  I will forever be grateful for their efforts and the kindness they showed.
