After arriving late to an appointment to see our sick bunny, the sassy and rude receptionist told me that they couldn't see our bunny because the next appointment was scheduled in 5-10 minutes –– they hadn't even arrived yet. Rather than try to help, ask what was wrong, or even have a quick chat/look see to help an animal in obvious distress, she made me feel bad and showed me the door. Keep in mind, this was at 8:20am, and no one was waiting. The place was empty. When I went back in to express my disbelief and horror in their cold and callous receptionist she grabbed her phone and threatened to "CALL THE POLICE!" I retreated to my car in shock and went to another (more compassionate) vet in the area. I WAS late, I WAS upset (c'mon, sick pet!), but there's no excuse for that kind of behavior. You have one job as a vet: care for animals and hire other people that do the same. #fail #neveragain Read Less

We’ve been clients of Miramonte Vet for over 15 years, and during that time Dr Taylor has treated my dogs and parrot. I credit Dr. Taylor with helping my first rescue dog live as healthy and pain-free a life as possible for the 14 years we had her.
Now I’m happy to continue with my new rescued dobie. I’ve referred several friends and neighbors to Dr.Taylor, and they have told me how satisfied they are, as well. Read Less

Dr. Taylor saved our cat's life. We took Chloe to an emergency pet hospital when she suddenly became extremely lethargic. There she received several blood transfusions for severe anemia. She eventually stabilized but would not eat. Unbeknownst to us, she had previously stopped eating due to the underlying illness that led up to her hospitalization. Being overweight, this caused her to develop hepatic lipidosis ("fatty liver"), which can be fatal if not aggressively treated. Dr. Taylor made an immediate diagnosis and ensured that she received the proper treatment. Thanks to his quick thinking, we still have our beloved Chloe. Dr. Taylor has also given us valuable guidance in treating our senior dog who suffers from arthritis. He recommended a combination of medications that enables Sabrina to have continued mobility as a nearly 14 year old Labrador Retriever. Dr. Taylor is very knowledgeable and highly experienced. You can trust him to provide outstanding medical care and always do what is best for your pet. Read Less

I have been bringing my dogs to Dr. Taylor for 20 years. I really appreciate his professionalism and his willingness to explain everything to me. He is very good at indicating which tests are most important and which will be potentially helpful but won't necessarily change the treatment of the animal. I was surprised that one person said he didn't allow you choices because that isn't my experience at all. Also, he doesn't push unnecessary treatments but he lets you know about issues that might need treatment in the future. My dogs have had a variety of challenging medical issues; I have always felt they were in good hands under Dr. Taylor's care. Read Less

Highly recommended! As a physician myself, I have high expectations for the medical care of all my family members. I am delighted with the level of care that Dr. Taylor has given to our little dog. Dr. Taylor accurately and quickly diagnosed an unusual bone disease in my pup's hind leg. I got three other opinions before proceeding with the surgery that he recommended. Although the other vets did not all agree with Dr. Taylor's diagnosis, it turned out that he was right. I followed his recommendations and now my dog runs and plays as if nothing had ever happened. The whole team is very professional and compassionate. Read Less

I have been bringing my cats to Dr. Taylor for the past 11 years. 2 of my kitties were special needs cats adopted from the shelters. Dr. Taylor took the time to research their ailments and provide treatment that extended both of their lives for an additional 5 years. He and his staff continually checked on the progress of the medication and provided the emotional support when it was time to say good-bye. I have always felt like a part of the Miramonte family whenever a visit was needed. I'm happy to say our newest addition to the family has already had a visit with Dr. Taylor. I would strongly recommend this facility to anyone seeking a professional and caring environment for their pets. Read Less

Having just moved to California from the UK I needed to have my dog checked over. The people over at Miramonte were brilliant. My dog can be very nervous around the vets but he was the best I've seen him. They know how to handle a nervous dog and he didn't freak out once. All of the staff were very friendly and approachable. I never once felt that they didn't know what they were doing.Prices were higher than back in the UK, but was this is my first visit to a vet in USA I have no useful frame of reference. I hope not to have to go back for a while, but when I do I'm sure they will be great. Read Less

I changed veterinarians to Dr. Taylor 5 or six years ago after going to a couple of well regarded vet clinics. Not that my animals were getting bad care, but I really got tired of getting a different vet everytime I went there and not having them remember anything about my dog or cat from visit to visit. I don't consider myself elderly, but Dr. Taylor (and his staff) are the kind of doctor I am used to getting growing up. He remembers my animals names, takes care of them as if they were his own and always makes sure he communicates to you all the tests and the reasons and outcomes of each one. He is never in a hurry, and and always makes time for every emergency that occurs. I wish I could get that kind of care when I see a doctor! Read Less

I rescued a Pit bull about three years ago. He was very sick. I have spent thousands of dollars at this veterinary hospital. I can say this, they are very helpful if you have money to spend. At the end of Jan. 2015 I took my Pit bull in because he was sick again. They took Stitch in, looked at him. They checked his ear and did a test on what ever stuff they pulled out of his ear. They told me what was wrong, and gave me medication for him. As usual they called to check on him, which is very nice, and things were great. Two weeks in I called back and told them that he was twitching his ear again. They wanted me to bring him in again I told them I couldn't, I have no more money. They said they wanted to check to see if it is the same thing. The last time it cost $420.00 and I can't afford that again. They said sorry but they need to have him come in again I asked if I could just pay for more medication but the answer was the same I have taken him before and it usually cost around 200.00 but they went up. That loving concern about stitch was gone. Now it is 2/23/2015 and stitch is pain with his ear. I called them again and told them this. Same thing they want to see him, to see if it is the same thing. I said I do not have any money left to please talk to Dr. Taylor. They called me back and said that the doctor looked at the chart and would like to see him again. Well I have been up all night with my dog and this really pisses me off that Stitch is in pain because I have no money. You would have thought that since I saw him the first time this would be apart of the original doctor visit.
I guess what I am trying to say is, that these people are great when you are paying them, but as soon as your money runs out they have a different attitude. I really have no idea if the girl at the front desk actually spoke to the doctor. What I do know is, I feel very sad right now that none of them care about Stitch being in pain.. Read Less

We have been customers at Miramonte for over 25 years with our 3 dogs and a cat. Dr Taylor is the best veterinarian we have ever dealt with. We live about 1:15 hours away, have seen quite a few other veterinarians near our house, and always end up driving the hour+ long drive to have Dr Taylor take care of our pets. Dr Taylor genuinely cares about our pets, does very thorough examinations, and patiently explains to us the diagnoses and options of possible treatments. He is very knowledgeable and diligently works on any problems that our pets have. We never feel rushed and are always given the opportunity to make a decision before he begins tests or treatments. Whenever any of our pets are treated for any health problems, Dr Taylor and his staff would always follow up with several phone calls to ensure that the problems were resolved and answer any additional questions that we may have.
