I wonder if they remember lucky, My rabbit who my boyfriend brought to them years ago. I don't think the guilt over taking her here will ever leave. She had an extremely high fever when I brought her in and rather than immediately working to help her, the front reception was more concerned with payment. They badgered about payment and ability to pay and refused to offer any sort of payment options. I've never heard of a vet running your card to see if funds are available, and demanding down payments be placed before they will look at your animal, but that's exactly what was done. In this time they could have been cooling Lucky down, but they weren't, she sat next to me in a carrier while I figured out their demands for payment before they would even look her over. After post dating a check and giving them a credit card, they told me lucky had an impaction and needed surgery. The price was atrocious, but we agreed, of course, as I would sell my kidneys, blood, and probably soul to save my animals. We checked in on her frequently, but somehow my rabbit went from being " fine and recovering well" to deceased in a matter of hours. They had no explanation for what happened, and offered little apology besides " rabbits are fragile". They of course charged me in full for the surgery, cremation and return of ashes. We were later told that Lucky actually never made it off the surgical table alive. Those "updates" about her condition were false, and I have never forgotten how horrible I felt finding this info out after the fact. When I came to pick up her ashes, prior to handing me her ashes, they checked to ensure all payments had been handled, IN FRONT OF ME, with me in tears over my deceased pet. Some people simply don't care for the well being of animals, and shouldn't work with the people who adopt and love them. Bed side manner is as important as surgicalAbilities and it appears neither exist here. I still cry when I think of this, and it's been years. Lucky was given her name because she managed to escape death after being dumped and abandoned. If only she had been lucky enough to not encounter such tragedy at this clinic. Please consider what you are doing to these animals, and the people who have promised to protect them. I will never forgive myself for brining Lucky to your clinic. She Descartes better than she got from everyone there. Read Less
