We were looking for board & care for our English Bulldog, Mia,for a few nights so that we could take our Granddaughter to Disneyland for her birthday in July. When I called, I was told that I needed to bring Mia in for a well pup check & proof of vaccinations. They reserved my boarding spot until I could get this done which I appreciated. When I brought her in everyone was kind & professional. She was checked over and brought up to date on all of her shots..easy-peasy! Dr. Christy is the best and even gave me tips for clean ears & toes. We were then given a little tour of the kennels so that I could see how her care would go during her.stay in July. I am SO glad that I did..not only did Dr. Sarah work at my previous vet hospital in Menlo Park, she also knew my one dog's Dermatologist and her practice in San Carlos and those two things alone put me right at ease! We love this place! We were looking for a place that specialized in birds to take our exotics to. We have a rescue African Senegal who is an extremely nervous bird that needed a grooming and checkup. This place was super clean, and a great comfortable atmosphere for ourselves and our pets. The front desk person was extremely kind and helpful. Then we met Dr. Sarah who was going to assist us. I was shocked at how quickly our bird Ruxin warmed up to her, and even seemed to take a liking towards her. It took me 2 years for this bird to warm up to me. It took her 5 seconds! Ruxin even let her scratch his head. On top of that, the grooming was quick and painless. Dr. Sarah even gave us an incredible amount of insight into bird care,diet and all sorts of invaluable information that we will use from here on out. I've taken my dogs and cats to several veterinarians over the last 5 years but never found a place that felt like home until I found Napa River Vet Hospital. I'm not a big fan of over vaccinating my furry family and we are a vegan household. So even though Dr. Sarah may not be in complete agreement with my philosophy, she works with me in finding the healthiest options for my family that are within my comfort zone! She also helped keep our corgi comfortable as she aged. Hahn is always cheerful even while being very busy at the front desk. Robert helps me save money & thinks of the animals first. Cassandra has always helped discover the right tests for my vegan cats & dog to be sure they are getting the nutrients they need. I have four Pomeranians. 2 of them are puppies. Needless to say, we are at the vet a lot. My crazy crew of pups have lived in many cities, so they have had MANY different vets. I've seen many offices, met many staff, etc. And I totally feel happiest with Napa River Pet Hospital. I changed vets due to relocating and they are very friendly and helpful. Charlie, Super Cat, needed his rabies vaccination and he didn't even appear to feel it. He is healthy and still weighs 10 pounds so I am not over feeding him. I will continue taking Charlie here. Read Less

I recently had to take my oldest dog, age 12 in for kennel cough. He was not getting over it and needed antibiotics. Inc received a very through exam during this visit. Inc had to be placed on antibiotics and cough medicine. The choice of meds was decided by not only need, but also the cost was considered. After we got home and started on the medication, Inc showed improvement in just a couple of days, and was back to himself in no time. Thank you again, Napa River.  We heard about the new opening a few months ago, and took our cat in for some dental work.  They did blood work to make sure he was healthy enough for anesthesia, and when they discovered something else inside his mouth during his procedure, they called us.  We were informed of every step, even though it was just tooth extractions and a cleaning.This week both he and our other male got into some poison, or a new plant that made them sick, and had fevers and burned noses.  We assumed one had a flu and the other had gotten into a fight, but Dr. Carroll diagnosed it as poison immediately.  He treated our kitty, and had us bring our 2nd cat in right away, even though he wasn't even a patient of theirs.  Noticing they were both dehydrated they gave them Sub-Q, which in my experience is very hard to do ourselves.  That was a bonus.Having spent the whole night worrying, and now having both cats home, treated and sleeping, we can't be more pleased with our new vet decision.  We're used to chaotic vets, and this is NOT that place!  The cats aren't totally stressed out the waiting room like before. I called th day of to see if i could get an appointment and they were able to get me in that day! We took our doggy in cause he needed to be updated on vaccines and get some flea medication as well. We also found out that he (walle) is allergic to fleas so they were able to give him atuff that well will help calm his skin until the rest of fleas die off.Read Less

Absolutely love these guys:) Our family has been looking for a new vet since ours retired last fall. We have gone to a few different places in town and none of them felt quite right. Well that all changed the second I walked into Napa River pet hospital. Some of the staff from our old vet now works there and were so welcoming. They all made a special effort to stop what they were doing and come say hello and of course greet our pets. Between my mothers house and mine, we have 4 cats and 1 dog who were each treated like family. I am extremely happy to have discovered this place and highly recommend it!
