I have been reluctantly going here for years... I have put up with rude receptionists, lack of follow up, over priced and unnecessary procedures such as an geriatric exam for my 3 year old dog and a suggested a nuclear test for what turned out to be growing pains. I took my dog here for the first time because she was in distress, it was late in the day, they were open, and just around the corner from me. I consider this a happy accident because they took such good care of her, and me. The people at the front reception desk were kind, and we got in to see the vet very quick. We saw Dr. Juliana Rockwood and she was so kind and knowledgeable and helpful. My dog went home feeling a little relief, and I felt calm & confident. I got a follow up call the next morning from Dr.Rockwood to see how my dog was doing. That was very nice especially because it gave me the opportunity to ask her about a couple of things that I didn't think of the night before because I was so stressed. Read Less

Picked up my Rx for my cat today and Linda was very helpful and she recommended a current rebate promotion, which was the first anyone at the vet hospital has told me about it. I'm sending a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Silverado Veterinary Hospital here in Napa.  My 11 y/o rescue Pom, Panda, had to spend 3 days there on an IV recently for pancreatitis.  I was able to visit him a couple of times a day.  I think that was to make ME feel better. All the staff is so kind and caring and always make him/me feel special. Thanks again for taking such good care of him and keeping him going. He's always happy to go in and visit.  No fear here! Kim at the front was very rude. I was surprised at the cost of the visit and unprepared for a charge that high€. I asked about billing and was informed, "we don't do that." I then asked if I could go home and return the same day and the answer was, "why would you come to the vet without money." There was no offer to go over the charges or work with me. I literally felt stuck. Had she reviewed the charges with me initially, she would have seen a billing error. The actual visit went great and I like the vet and techs, but I have no desire to be accosted on the way out the door so we'll definitely be going somewhere else. Read Less

Kim at the front was incredibly rude. Like wow rude. I had adopted a dog and was given a certificate for a free check up. When I was sticker shocked at the cost of the visit, I asked about billing. She responded that they don't do that and why would I come to the vet without money. It turns out she had changed me for the visit despite my coupon from the shelter. Let me start by saying I might be the pickiest person out here when it comes to who sees my animals. We have used Silverado for over 20+ years, The veterinarians my canines see are professional, empathetic and caring.They also take the time to educate me. ( so important ) Jessica and team have a special place in my canines hearts ( nothing like a mani/ pedi) Cant say enough good things about the veteran staff there. Very disappointed. My dog got a foxtail in her ear and was very obviously in pain. The lady at the counter could not have cared less, much more interested in doing paperwork than getting the dog taken care of. 20 plus minutes went by before we finally saw the vet. The procedure took about a minute if even that and the vet was very nice. At the end of the day, I would have been happy to fill out your paperwork for hours, happy to pay whatever the fees were, happy to do whatever it was you needed me to do. Just don't let my dog needlessly suffer. Zero sympathy for the poor critter. For the owner of the business, your front desk staff is terrible, at least the person I dealt with. I understand that no-one is perfect but showing no concern what-so-ever for a suffering patient with absolutely no sense of urgency is unacceptable.I wish you good luck and hope you can find some good help but I will certainly not be back unless you are the only/last option. I came here a few weeks after rescuing my dog from the Napa Shelter just to get his overall health looked at and talk about flea/tick and heartworm preventative options. My vet was Dr. Shelley Flowers and she was wonderful!My dog is a little nervous around new people but she made him (and me) feel so comfortable during the whole visit. He even ate a treat from her hand by the end of the visit, which he never does with strangers! The prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the prompt and friendly service from everyone in the office. If you are looking for a vet hospital in the Napa Valley this is the place to go! Read Less

We went here on recommendations for our cat and on our first trip, they were friendly and basically up sold us a few shots, steroid and antibiotics, to fix what amounted to a flea issue that the day before we had already started her on Advantage II. Over the next week she began to sneeze, a lot, and a watery discharge started from her eyes as well as being lethargic. We called and got a 12:30 appointment. We showed up and checked in early and were asked to wait outside. At 1:10 wevwere shown to a room. At 1:30 we were finally seen. An hour past our appointment. Perhaps we'll look elsewhere for a vet. My cat paris has been getting wonderful treatment from Dr. Flowers at Silverado. Paris had suffered from decreased appetite and weight loss which her previous vet could not diagnose. dr. Flower treated her and she has CKD/Renal Failure .Since the the diagnosis and treatment Paris has gained back almost half of what she lost and has a beautiful fur coat now. She helped my very sick kitty when she had to stay at Silverado Vet in an incubator.  Don't trust the review from the person with 11 cats, they quite obviously don't know what it means to really be devoted to one animal and want him or her to have the best care. Silverado Veterinary Hospital is a place to take your pet if you want to be assured of great treatment. I have been going there for 25 years with my "kids" both cats and dogs. Our main vet is Mara Blevis and she is a saint with many years of experience and a big heart. And when Mara isn't there due to vacation or time off, we have trusted our kids to every vet there and have been well pleased. The front staff and MA's are excellent as well........very concerned and caring people. Dr Hess runs a great practice and we are blessed to have this hospital in Napa. Read Less

Dr. Flowers is wonderful! I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially bird owners. She sees all types of animals, but I brought my pet chicken in to see her (as an emergency) and was so impressed. The entire staff at SVH is great, very professional & thorough. It is a bit of a drive for me, but absolutely worth it. They are reasonably priced, and their equipment is state of the art. I have been there several times now, and it's consistently a pleasant experience. Very nice, clean facility with super friendly people working there. I was new in town & wasn't sure where to go for veterinary care, found Dr. Flowers, and now I will be taking all my animals there. Read Less
