After much research for an affordable, but high quality veterinarian, we brought our 13 year old Beagle here yesterday, for the first time. We made the drive from Palm Springs because I was happy with their reviews, and their pricing was well below other estimates I received for dental work. Being an older dog, I was a little worried about anesthesia for him, but I knew he had an infection, and it needed to be done. I have a 10 year old beautiful golden retriever.  She developed a non-cancerous golf-ball size tumor under her chin.  My regular vet checked it and indicated that it was slow growing, benign but I should get it removed as it wouldn't go away.  Also my dog needed dental work, and he could do all of this for $1200.  I spent hours trying to find another discount clinic who would just remove it.  I found one down in Orange County and took a 1:30 drive down there only to find out the price was just about $50 cheaper.  Disheartened I went to book my regular vet as the tumor was now approaching tennis ball size.  I decided to see if there was something a bit closer.That's when I found Affordable Vet Clinic with Dr. Rouche.  I made an appointment and he was wonderful!  Gave me an estimate for $300 to remove it and no worries on the dental work - the teeth were just fine in fact dental work might pose more trouble.I got this work done and can't be more grateful and happy with the result.  The staff are truly animal lovers who have a high regard and understanding of animals.I mentioned this to my next door neighbor and she had used him for her horse years ago and loved him too!Indeed a jewel among vets. I LOVE Dr. Rousche. He is a awesome vet and an awesome guy. I trust him 100% to do the best for my piggies which is no easy feat after horrible experiences with couple of vets I used to have treating my pigs. And he charges so much less I cannot believe the thousands i have spent on mediocre or far worse than mediocre veterinary care. Dr. John is great with pigs. He knows how to make them behave without stressing them (or me!) out and he is a pleasure to work with as he usually allows the pets owner to be hands- on in treating their animal if they want instead of taking the pet and disappearing into some back room like most vets do and he is great at explaining everything very clearly and answering questions, even if you have a zillion and some are kind of dumb questions. He is just a great all around Dr and my piggies are fortunate to have him as their veterinarian. If you can get him to be your pig vet you will be very pleased. Read Less

Walking through the door my dog was actually at ease. The doctor wasn't trying to poke and prod my dog nor like when you go to certain vets they don't have any connection with your animal Dr.Roush was very friendly and was very helpful with surgery suggestions and was able to help cut our cost in half. Dr Rousch removed a mass from our Husky's bottom eye lid. Another vet wanted 3 to 4 times as much to remove it. Dr. Rousch did the procedure with laser instead of cutting his eye, like the other vet was going to do. He did a great job and my Husky's eye looked perfect, immediately after. I began using Dr Rouche in 2003 for my horses' care, along with another equine practitioner; however when I went to nursing school in 2008 I had to pasture my horse over 50 miles away from home on Tejon Ranch and had a terrible time getting vet care way up on Tejon Pass. Dr Rouche was the only vet who was there for me and my horse , Harley, who at the time began grass-foundering. When you really need your vet in the bad times, reliability and loyalty are everything. Having a doctor who knows your animal's medical history and personality means a lot when they are far from home and they need care. Over the years, Dr Rouche has made it easy to maintain Harley's health; whether he was 50 miles from home or 3 miles; whether he was colicky or just needed a yearly vaccine. Not only is he reliable and an excellent clinician, his prices are much more reasonable than other vets I have used in the past-AND he is great with animals (not all vets are). I will continue to remain loyal to a great doctor who has shown compassion, professionalism, and reliability to my beloved animals for the past 12 years. Thank you, Dr Rouche. I found this place through Yelp too and I'm glad I did.  We inherited an older dog that needed extensive dental work.  I knew her teeth were bad and that she would have to have a lot of them removed.  I wasn't aware that this business is ONLY OPEN ON WEDNESDAYS.  I scheduled an appointment and then asked if they could fit me in the next day because I felt like my dog was in pain, she was swatting at her mouth a lot.  Thankfully, they did.  The cleaning with sedation was 250.00, they have all their prices listed on their website.  She needed 7 teeth removed at a cost of 18.00 each, plus 20.00 for antibiotics.  Total cost was 400.00.  She came home from the vet, raring to go.  So much happier.  I liked them so much that I just left a message to schedule another of our dogs for her dental.   This isn't really a place where you'd go for an emergency, you need to plan ahead.  They do a lot of different surgeries and procedures.  Glad I found them. Their fees are extremely reasonable, they saved me over $500 compared to what my regular vet wanted to charge. Their quote was so low my husband and I were worried it was some fly by night place, so we stopped by to check it out, the Vets wife was there, she was friendly, totally understanding our need to do a pre check,  the Vet himself came from the back to talk to us. We have known Dr. Roueche for 10 years and he does all of our vet work.  Among other things, he has taken care of many litters of young puppies we have had.  He is obviously amazingly capable at what he does.  But, what is also great about him is that he has the wisdom to sometimes say, "let's wait and see how this works out".  So, many times we would have spent a fortune on tests and procedures to discover that the young puppy would grow out of its problems.  This approach really creates trust as you don't have the sense he is trying to charge the maximum amount every time but that he is really caring for the animal.
