I will now avoid. After several visits, I have decided not to take my pet here any more. The staff is extremely nice and professional (an earlier review by a former employee claims they are not actual vet techs which did seem to be the case as the Dr. had to explain to them how to do everything and was pretty harsh with his staff), but I believe that Dr. Monsour's model is to make as much money as he can by playing on your emotions and fears when vet services are needed. I'll explain. They make it look very slick and impressive -but your pet doesn't care about that. First:GROOMINGThe grooming services are very good. No complaints.BOARDINGI am not comfortable with their boarding facilities. Dogs are kept in granite-lined cubicles with glass doors that feel very isolated, little-to-no sunlight, basically no activity and no socializing with other dogs. You cannot leave your pet's own bed or any of your pet's toys, blankets, etc. They say they take the dogs for "a walk" but it's only to let them into a very small central courtyard that is just an astroturf area with block walls around it. It's not large enough for a mid-sized dog to break a run across. After getting a full tour, I found it so depressing that I decided I couldn't ever leave my dog here. If you have a small, nervous or elderly dog that you never let out of the house or allow to interact with other dogs, you may prefer their boarding facilities.VET SERVICESMy dog required immediate surgery for an injury and the suture was excellent. I was very happy with this. There was no question what needed to be done and it was taken care of. It was a very simple and straightforward procedure that cost $1200. Ooof. But here's the real problem. Over the course of 4+ visits for various persistent issues (serious skin irritations, bowel problems), I was never shown a proposed direction of treatment under $500. (Fortunately, they show you an itemized list of what they suggest, so you can say no to anything.) But, after going through this drill for the fifth time (hey, I'm slow), I really started to feel that I was being fleeced and that Dr. Monsour has a definite business strategy.I also don't like being called "mom" all the time and the gooey "We love your doggie! Yes we do!" was a bit much, especially when he didn't remember us the next time we came in, just a couple of weeks later. Here's the routine I experienced over the course of multiple visits:Every time I went in, Dr. Monsour went from describing the mildest scenario for my pet (could be something he ate) to possible, but certain death (could be signs of kidney failure). He also speaks very, very fast and has an extremely thick accent which can make it difficult to follow the barrage of words being thrown at you and his tone is the opposite of calming. Then, all possible treatments to address every imaginable scenario are strongly advised: we must start a special diet, antibiotics, food supplements, anti-inflammatory meds, blood tests, urine tests...etc. We must do them all! He might die! (Or, he might just be allergic to something he ate.) We don't know!! We can't know! Just do anything and everything immediately!! Instead of doing a process of elimination to find out WHAT the actual cause is, he takes the approach of treat (and charge for) EVERYTHING. But, if we put our pet on antibiotics AND a special diet -how will we know which treatment is working? How do we identify the cause to prevent it?After multiple visits, over $2500 with no results and this everything-but-the-kitchen sink approach, we smelled a rat, did our own process of elimination until we found the cause of our dog's skin irritation, bowel troubles and...now our dog is all better.I do feel that Dr. Monsour is an experienced and capable vet. However, I really believe Evergreen is his money-making machine that caters to the panicky pet owner who wants to try anything and everything to just stop whatever is happening and is willing to open their pocketbook at any cost to do so, even when it may not be necessary.
