I liked her. My dog liked her. She didn't frighten or hurt my dog during the exams. The technicians were very gentle and caring and my dog had a skin infection that made her look like she had mange or something. So it wasn't like they were being nice because she was so cute. The vet took her time and spent over an hour with her and only charged me $48.00. She gave me all kinds of advice. After I told her I'm on fixed income she she gave me choices of treatment where I could choose myself. Medicine was ordered right there over phone from pharmacy and Dr. doesn't get any of that money. She recommended another dog food I could buy at Costco (also not helping her financially) that would be more beneficial for my dogs skin and health when I can afford it. She told me the dose of generic over the counter medicine I can give her for some of her other symptoms so I can save money. I've been to see this vet 3 times over the last 5 years and the clinic has always been clean, even on pet clinic day where there was a line around the corner waiting to get in. The cost of veterinary medicine, (their equiptment costs, rent), and getting your pet diagnosed by blood work and tests has gone up just like it has for people. I'm glad to have a vet that will work with me and give me choices. She explained everything, was very patient. I get very upset when my dog is hurting and uncomfortable. Dr. Suzanne and her staff are amazing. They are knowledgeable, warm, and incredibly personable. Dr. Suzanne took her time with my Bailey girl and was incredibly patient and caring of both my dog's needs and her comfort. What a wonderful place!  I was referred to this place by two good friends and drove two hours today each way for Suzanne and her crew; they are amazing people with great customer service.  Suzanne is very thorough and detailed and took very good care of my pet cat today.  My cat had several issues and they were taken care of to my complete satisfaction.   I also found out many new facts about taking care of my cat that I did know before.Suzanne and her staff are very trusting and run a good and clean operation. I wonder why the Doctor does not have a website for any communications and when I call I am told I have to schedule an appointment simply to discuss a recent appointment made and attended by my friend and client. Additionally I wonder why we were asked to provide a Urine sample from our cat, when the diabetes test requested can be done with a blood sample? Also the doctor said it was necessary because the cat has "cloudy eyes." They are not cloudy in the slightest and my friend and client relates that the doctor did not examine our pet with any light but by eye. If she had truly examined the cat's eye properly, perhaps she would have noticed the left pupil slightly enlarged, a possible symptom of oncoming Aniscoria, a serious condition for cats. Instead the doctor found it necessary to scare my 70-year old friend with tales of felines "dying within 48 hours" as a result of a shot that our cat has had twice over the past year at the hospital. And always tolerated well. And again, I am communicating here because there are no alternatives save scheduling another appointment for which we will have to wait two hours over the scheduled time as always. Perhaps the doctor cares a great deal. But it appears she cares more about scheduling numerous appointments and tests for our extremely healthy and beloved friend. I think we will seek treatment elsewhere, where we can plan our day better and get more honest service. Unless the doctor sees fit to discuss the results without a another charge. Read Less

The doctor at Westside Animal Hospital is professional yet caring. She is very sensitive when treating our cat as well as willing to discuss and let us participate in her treatment. I've experienced losing a pet because I couldn't afford the treatment the doctor prescribed. It's heartbreaking. That said, many of these treatment modalities are new and probably save hundreds of animals we'd just have to let die naturally in the past. I got mad at myself for not having the money. Life is not fair sometimes. By the way, I've never given any body - person or place, a 5 star rating so 4 stars is pretty good in my book. Read Less

My normal vet was booked and I felt my sick cat needed to be seen ASAP. I was able to get an afternoon appointment on Saturday at Westside. Dr. Solvin was great. She explained everything she was doing as she was doing it. Dr and her staff really listened to what was going on with my cat and documented everything, leaving no detail out. She was very reasonable with the bill, she also ran a couple of tests/xrays at no charge as she knew I have been to my regular vet 2x already. I feel fortunate to have found Westside Animal Hospital and feel Dr. and staff had my cat's best interest at the top of the list.Facility is clean, bright and easy to find. I bought a Teddy bear hamster named Herman at Pet Extreme only to find out several days later it was sick. We happened to be going to another Vet (not the one that Im writing about) for are dog but, sadly they couldn't help us. So we decided to go to another Vet on are way out of Newman, too find this wonderful establishment. They were so kind and they saw us right away. We found out he had a common illness called Wet tail the Dr. then told us that most hamsters don't survive from this, we only had two choices to put him down or to try and save him by daily injections. The vet was so nice and even though she wasn't familiar with Hamster she tried the best that she could by giving us the proper medication and supplies that we needed to treat him and about one through two weeks later Herman made a full recovery! He's back to eating and sleeping all day and running around in his little portable ball all night, Im so glad that I was able to find Westside Animal Hospital and want to thank them so much for what they have done! Went here once and now that I see Tina Faulkner is working here I'm not going back! She is such an unprofessional twit. She use to work for GbarN around the same time I took my Boston Terrier in for the first visit my poor dog was diagnosed with a bladder infection then when I came to pick up my beloved dog I was informed that she had a seizure and would need a CAT scan which would run me $2500.00. The way that I was told was just like this "We could do a CAT scan if you have $2500.00 to see if she has a tumor because these dogs are known for developing tumors or we could send you home with medication to help control the seizures". Well long story short and $350.00 later I had to put the poor dog to sleep because she was suffering and I could not afford the $250.00 worth of meds they wanted me to give to her on a monthly basis and there was no guarantee that she would live longer by taking them. This vet is concerned only for the well being of her pocket and not your pet! Read Less

We have been taking our animals to Ms. Solvin for over 10 years and she is the best around! She truly cares about your animal and your relationship with them. She's not only a great vet, but she's very compassionate and sympathizes with you for your ailing animal. Have gone elsewhere for a cheaper "puppy package", but will take him back to Westside for the rest of his life. Service in other just doesn't hold a candle, regardless of price. Read Less

Very friendly and caring staff. Everyone really seems to like their job which makes going to the vet an experience that is not the traditional struggle. The Doctor took the time to explain the care she is recommending for my dog while being very truthful, honest and more importantly very respectful. I was also impressed with the current technology employed in their business operation which enables them to provide excellent service efficiently.
