Everyone is great here. I brought my girl in for an ACL rupture and the Dr. was so amazing. The girls in the front came out from behind the counter to greet every pup that came in and even took time to sit and pet them. Very happy here and the dogs that came in seemed excited to be there as well. We will be having surgery next week.

Been going to this hospital for over two years now with our Australian Shepherd and have been happy and easy place to visit. We’re great with our Aussie puppy when he had to get his vaccinations. We rescued a maltipoo in Vernon and originally we were going to give it to a rescue and throughout the process back bay was very helpful and supportive in getting us to the correct people. We ended up keeping the Maltipoo.
Every time we come in for an updated shot or flee medication they always remember us which is a plus.

We are so lucky that we were recommended to this place by our neighbor. Dr. fanous is compassionate, knowledgeable, and fair. He explained everything to us, as well as our options, and has overall been great. I really like that the hospital has free Wi-Fi, and they also offer boarding and doggy daycare. I really like how transparent they are with pricing as well as what they are doing with your pet. I was so happy to see how gentle they were when examining my senior dog. I will update after my dog gets her tumor removed here.

Excellent place for your pet! I've been going to the BBVH since I've had my French bulldog puppy. Dr. Fanous is a very good vet, a pet lover, and very comprehensive to my fears and sees how much I care for my baby. The staff is always very nice and very patient. I often call, to know how my baby is doing, during day care or during his surgery, and they are helpful and patient. I know I can trust them when I drop off my baby, for both day care or surgery.

My furry four-legged family member, Bailey (an 11 month old Golden Retriever) was bitten above the eye while at a local dog park. It wasn't healing as quickly and as well as I thought should be happening. I called BBVH, my regular vet, and they were able to get us in just a few hours later. Once we arrived, we were quickly seen and evaluated. The staff was fast, efficient, and Bailey was appropriately cared for with an extra measure of kindness to boot. Highly recommend BBVH for your pet's care.

THE BEST! I found out about Back Bay Vet on yelp after I had bad experiences with 2 other Vet offices near me. I lived in Huntington Beach, so this was a bit far to go for a vet appointment, however, once we went there the quality of care, from the staff to the Dr, was unparalleled. So much so that I continue to go to this office even after moving to Long Beach! I happily drive the 45+ minutes (an hour in traffic) for my dog's vet needs. We LOVE Dr Fanous!!! I would (and do) refer everyone to him... in a heart beat.

I have been going here for at least 10 years. The difference is they genuinely care about animals and aren't just in it for the money. Dr karcherian and Dr fanous are the best and I drive from the Inland empire just to see them and it's worth it. If you need high level vet care this is the place to go. I have gotten a total of three surgeries on my dogs over the years and luckily most recently didn't need another. They also don't treat my dog any differently despite the fact that he is very large and can be intimidating.

Back Bay was recently recommended to me (very very highly recommended) and now that I've been there, it's clear why! Dr. Fanous and Dr. Katcherian are AMAZING. Just moments in their presence and you can see and feel how much they love and care for animals. Dr. Fanous was SO compassionate with my cat who was not liking the situation she was in. He calmed her, kissed her and was talking to her...like in a low voice right in her ear telling her everything was ok and he was sorry (sorry that she was stressed, he didn't do anything) IT WAS THE SWEETEST THING I'D SEEN. Never have I had a vet that displayed such warmth and love for my pets. To me, my animals are my babies, they're people...and I felt like Dr. Fanous saw them the same way :) All of the staff were so awesome too, smiling and friendly. It was packed when I came in, literally the parking lot was full and the seats were taken and then BAM everything opened up. I've never seen such such efficiency. Just being in the waiting room alone already had me impressed.My cat was issued a liquid antibiotic and it was a complete nightmare trying to administer it :( It was impossible. I called the office that evening to explain the situation and they were sooo understanding. Even though it was a holiday, they were open and had an alternative medication (pill form) ready for me when I walked in the next day. It was really amazing and I appreciated them all so much!This office stands out like no other.

I'm blown away. I had no idea a vet could make me feel like they actually care about me and the health of my dog. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Fanous and the staff here. He put every last worry I had to rest. Answered all of my questions, gave me helpful suggestions, and treated us like a family friend even though we were new, first time clients. The girls at the front were all so sweet and helpful and gave the little pup lots of love and pets. I love the team at Back Bay Veterinary Hospital.

The absolute best veterinary hospital I have ever been to in my life. Dr. Fanous and his technicians are all wonderful people, care deeply about animals, and work their hardest to make sure that all of their clients (both human and animal) are treated with care and respect at all times. I can't recommend this vet highly enough!

Dr. Fanous is by far the best veterinarian in California; heck, I'd go so far to say he's the best vet in the world. The way he cares for my dog Bentley the Yorkie, makes me as a doggy-momma feel at ease and not worry so much. His bedside manner is one that will calm your pet, keep you laughing, and shows his commitment to veterinary medicine. He will make sure when your pet is sick to keep you informed of his or her status. If you're nice enough (kidding!) he'll even call or text you to check in. He has saved Bentley from eating carpet fibers by massaging his intestines after opening his abdomen, cured Bentley from a flu that I thought was going to kill him, and has been there for infections and now teeth issues throughout the past 9 years. Dr. Fanous has a smile on his face which is contagious and so helpful when you need it the most. Thank you Dr. Fanous for such good care throughout the years

This place is absolutely awesome! I took my mini Doxie here to get neutered because I was looking for the best care, and I received it! They did a great job with the surgery and they were very patient and friendly for this "scared mama". Dr. Fanous is awesome and we have continued to come back and see him for about 8 months now. He is very friendly knowledgable and a true animal lover. I really like that he doesn't make you feel annoying when asking a million questions! Haha. Thanks back bay for the great care :)

I rarely write online reviews, but the quality of care my pets have received here has been exceptional. I honestly have never taken my pets to a better vet! Dr. Fanous is warm and friendly and cares deeply for all the animals he treats. After my first elderly cat Zorro was having difficulty eating, Dr Fanous prescribed a special diet that worked wonders for his appetite. He called a couple days later to see if it was working and how Zorro was feeling. With my new kitten Sahara, Dr. Fanous adjusted his fully-booked schedule to see her soon as possible on Saturday morning after she was bitten by something and experiencing swelling near the wound. When I called to make the appointment for Sahara, I had initially reached the receptionist, but Dr. Fanous kindly chose to speak to me directly about the symptoms my kitten was experiencing. He truly goes out of his way to provide the highest quality service to the all animals he treats. He's AMAZING.

I love all of the staff and Dr. Fanous here. I'm surprised by some of these reviews saying this place is profit driven. Dr. Fanous always tries to give me the bottom line best deal and in some cases, refuses to sell me any drugs that are not generic because of cost. He is caring and they have been wonderful with my dog. Any vet office that you visit for any procedure, especially surgical, will add 'optional' fees for items as that is how it is everywhere. But these guys are the best I've ever visited and I've had dogs my entire life and visited several O.C. area vet offices.

The single worst vet I have ever been to. They will lie to your face and try their best to rip you off. I do not recommend that anyone goes here. They use your love of your pet against you for you to pay more for their services. I will never be going here again.

We are so lucky that we were recommended to this place by our neighbor. Dr. fanous is compassionate, knowledgeable, and fair. He explained everything to us, as well as our options, and has overall been great. I really like that the hospital has free Wi-Fi, and they also offer boarding and doggy daycare. I really like how transparent they are with pricing as well as what they are doing with your pet. I was so happy to see how gentle they were when examining my senior dog. I will update after my dog gets her tumor removed here.

Excellent place for your pet! I've been going to the BBVH since I've had my French bulldog puppy. Dr. Fanous is a very good vet, a pet lover, and very comprehensive to my fears and sees how much I care for my baby. The staff is always very nice and very patient. I often call, to know how my baby is doing, during day care or during his surgery, and they are helpful and patient. I know I can trust them when I drop off my baby, for both day care or surgery.

My furry four-legged family member, Bailey (an 11 month old Golden Retriever) was bitten above the eye while at a local dog park. It wasn't healing as quickly and as well as I thought should be happening. I called BBVH, my regular vet, and they were able to get us in just a few hours later. Once we arrived, we were quickly seen and evaluated. The staff was fast, efficient, and Bailey was appropriately cared for with an extra measure of kindness to boot. Highly recommend BBVH for your pet's care.

THE BEST! I found out about Back Bay Vet on yelp after I had bad experiences with 2 other Vet offices near me. I lived in Huntington Beach, so this was a bit far to go for a vet appointment, however, once we went there the quality of care, from the staff to the Dr, was unparalleled. So much so that I continue to go to this office even after moving to Long Beach! I happily drive the 45+ minutes (an hour in traffic) for my dog's vet needs. We LOVE Dr Fanous!!! I would (and do) refer everyone to him... in a heart beat.

I have been going here for at least 10 years. The difference is they genuinely care about animals and aren't just in it for the money. Dr karcherian and Dr fanous are the best and I drive from the Inland empire just to see them and it's worth it. If you need high level vet care this is the place to go. I have gotten a total of three surgeries on my dogs over the years and luckily most recently didn't need another. They also don't treat my dog any differently despite the fact that he is very large and can be intimidating.

Back Bay was recently recommended to me (very very highly recommended) and now that I've been there, it's clear why! Dr. Fanous and Dr. Katcherian are AMAZING. Just moments in their presence and you can see and feel how much they love and care for animals. Dr. Fanous was SO compassionate with my cat who was not liking the situation she was in. He calmed her, kissed her and was talking to her...like in a low voice right in her ear telling her everything was ok and he was sorry (sorry that she was stressed, he didn't do anything) IT WAS THE SWEETEST THING I'D SEEN. Never have I had a vet that displayed such warmth and love for my pets. To me, my animals are my babies, they're people...and I felt like Dr. Fanous saw them the same way :) All of the staff were so awesome too, smiling and friendly. It was packed when I came in, literally the parking lot was full and the seats were taken and then BAM everything opened up. I've never seen such such efficiency. Just being in the waiting room alone already had me impressed.My cat was issued a liquid antibiotic and it was a complete nightmare trying to administer it :( It was impossible. I called the office that evening to explain the situation and they were sooo understanding. Even though it was a holiday, they were open and had an alternative medication (pill form) ready for me when I walked in the next day. It was really amazing and I appreciated them all so much!This office stands out like no other.

I'm blown away. I had no idea a vet could make me feel like they actually care about me and the health of my dog. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Fanous and the staff here. He put every last worry I had to rest. Answered all of my questions, gave me helpful suggestions, and treated us like a family friend even though we were new, first time clients. The girls at the front were all so sweet and helpful and gave the little pup lots of love and pets. I love the team at Back Bay Veterinary Hospital.

The absolute best veterinary hospital I have ever been to in my life. Dr. Fanous is by far the best veterinarian in California; heck, I'd go so far to say he's the best vet in the world. The way he cares for my dog Bentley the Yorkie, makes me as a doggy-momma feel at ease and not worry so much. His bedside manner is one that will calm your pet, keep you laughing, and shows his commitment to veterinary medicine. He will make sure when your pet is sick to keep you informed of his or her status. If you're nice enough (kidding!) he'll even call or text you to check in. He has saved Bentley from eating carpet fibers by massaging his intestines after opening his abdomen, cured Bentley from a flu that I thought was going to kill him, and has been there for infections and now teeth issues throughout the past 9 years. Dr. Fanous has a smile on his face which is contagious and so helpful when you need it the most. Thank you Dr. Fanous for such good care throughout the years

This place is absolutely awesome! I took my mini Doxie here to get neutered because I was looking for the best care, and I received it! They did a great job with the surgery and they were very patient and friendly for this "scared mama". Dr. Fanous is awesome and we have continued to come back and see him for about 8 months now. He is very friendly knowledgable and a true animal lover. I really like that he doesn't make you feel annoying when asking a million questions! Haha. Thanks back bay for the great care :)

I rarely write online reviews, but the quality of care my pets have received here has been exceptional. I honestly have never taken my pets to a better vet! Dr. Fanous is warm and friendly and cares deeply for all the animals he treats. After my first elderly cat Zorro was having difficulty eating, Dr Fanous prescribed a special diet that worked wonders for his appetite. He called a couple days later to see if it was working and how Zorro was feeling. With my new kitten Sahara, Dr. Fanous adjusted his fully-booked schedule to see her soon as possible on Saturday morning after she was bitten by something and experiencing swelling near the wound. When I called to make the appointment for Sahara, I had initially reached the receptionist, but Dr. Fanous kindly chose to speak to me directly about the symptoms my kitten was experiencing. He truly goes out of his way to provide the highest quality service to the all animals he treats. He's AMAZING.

I love all of the staff and Dr. Fanous here. I'm surprised by some of these reviews saying this place is profit driven. Dr. Fanous always tries to give me the bottom line best deal and in some cases, refuses to sell me any drugs that are not generic because of cost. He is caring and they have been wonderful with my dog. Any vet office that you visit for any procedure, especially surgical, will add 'optional' fees for items as that is how it is everywhere. But these guys are the best I've ever visited and I've had dogs my entire life and visited several O.C. area vet offices.
