I took my dog here based off of Google reviews, however I wished I had checked Yahoo first as there seems to be pretty similar stories posted there. Everything is double to almost triple the costs to have the same procedures done at other locations. No one seems to listen or really care about their clients, its more about moving on and getting that money. I know that's something angry people just say, but at this place that really seemed to be the case. Our vet was over an hour late to the appointment but nobody thought to tell us this until we were almost done with the appointment and literally had nothing to do but wait for her.She never apologized for this. No one pronounced my dog's name correctly despite me giving a correction, it got to the point I just gave up. We were up sold flea spray that costs $8 online. I also never got a copy of my bill at the end, only a high estimate for a follow up appointment after having a back and forth with a manager about how the costs for the next appointment make sense despite me knowing another location that would do it for less. (I didn't ask to speak with a manger, he came out after I said I'd wait to do a follow up appointment, since it seemed my dog's growths were not emergencies). Its also very hard to find the place and park. Its located between several warehouses with only 1 small alleyway to get in or out. The building is run down on the outside but to be fair is nice on the inside. However this is all minor annoyances really, what really upset me was when they gave our follow up about blood tests results here's what happened:
After our appointment I was told everything seemed fine, my dog seemed healthy despite having some questionable growths on her (she's 12) but they ran some blood tests to be sure and I'll hear the results tomorrow. That part seemed find and normal, however:
towards the end of the following afternoon I get a phone call. Of course I'm expecting this, its a nurse calling from Porter and I'm about to hear the test results right? Wrong! Instead she asks me a ton of concerning questions, is my dog eating? Is she showing signs of being lethargic? Is she showing anything that might be concerning or different in overall behavior? I said no everything seems normal and she goes "okay" and proceeds to hang up. HOLD ON! I say please tell me her test results are those in? "Oh yes" she says, "I have them right here.....the vet will have to call you back to discuss them." Any normal person being told that knows that doesn't sound good at all. I ask if I should be concerned, should I excuse myself from my work area and prepare for something. Again I'm told the vet will need to call me back but she'll have the vet call me ASAP. An hour and half later I can't take it anymore. I call back MYSELF and am given over to a manager, not a vet but a manager Now I've had almost 2hrs of stress in my head thinking I'm going to get the worst news any dog owner is going to get. My dog really does have cancer and now I have to think about more serious options. I'm on the brink of tears as I talk and I ask about the results. He draws it out. "I do have some news.....we did the blood tests.....and.......your dog is perfectly healthy." I LOST IT!!! It's like something out of a TV show. How dare you do that to an owner!!! This isn't a game show.I was overcome with emotion after that, and there was a lot of ugly crying at work. Thank goodness for loving and understanding co-workers. So will we be back? Of course not. Should you? Well this is watered down version of my story so you can decide for yourself what's best for your pet. But don't be surprised if you end up with a very similar story. Read Less
