I know I'm probably a little biased because I'm trying to get a job here but in all honesty I think that this is one of the best veterinary clinics in the area. Maybe getting a chance to see how things are behind closed doors was a great way to properly rate this clinic because I can say that the techs are amazing and genuinely care about the animals that come in. The vet is also very good at what he does and has a great way with the animals. I've experienced quite a few animal clinics in the area, gotten kicked out of a few in the process but I'd have to say that this clinic definitely has my trust and respect. Read Less

I was referred to Dr. Fryer by a friend and was told all kinds of wonderful things and would have to agree with all of them.  I had been reluctant to take one of my chickens into the vet due to the cost and finally made the decision to see Dr. Fryer. He was kind, articulate and really took the time to explain everything in detail in a way I could understand. The doctor has an exceptional bedside manner and a kind, warm and caring personality as well. My experience with the staff as far as making the appointment, checking in and general conversation was nothing short of exceptional as well. It's so nice to have a knowledgeable veterinarian who obviously loves what he does and is compassionate toward you and your dogs needs. He has taken great care of both my boxer and my English bulldog and I'm so glad someone recommended Dr Fryer to me. Him and his staff have been more than accommodating and helpful. I've been taking my dogs here for 5 years and have spent thousands of dollars at this clinic. Today they told me they had "no wiggle room" to squeeze in an emergency visit for my 13 year old lab who I thought had bloat. Even after I called back to tell them that pet emergency couldn't see my dog until after 2 pm, they still insisted on "no wiggle room" and were about to give me the number for pet emergency in Santa Barbara. Then I found the Ventura Vetrinary Hospital and they said they were booked solid BUT TO BRING HIM RIGHT IN! Needless to say I've already switched over to their vet, who is awesome! He xrayed my dog right away . I was only there for 30 minutes and they will have my business for as long as I have pets. Read Less

Dr Fryer saved Sumo's left eye as well as his life a year before his eye injury.  Sumo is hypersensitive to medication.  Somehow Sumo injured his cornea and had an ulcerated cornea.  Dr Fryer knew just what to do and taught us, too, how to care for Sumo's eye at home in between visits to his Oakview Clinic over a few weeks time.  I am so thankful to Dr Fryer for his knowledge of English Bulldogs and how he is willing to work with those of us who take the holistic approach as I do with my animals. Dr. Fryer very patient and an excellent vetenarian.  His staff is very professional and caring. The pet clinic rooms are comfortable for owners and pet friendly.  The office is easy to get to and has ample parking, with a little grassy area for your dogs potty needs. After trying out several vets when I first got my dog, I finally found Dr. Fryer, shortly after he purchased Animal Clinic. I've been taking my dog here ever since. I have ALWAYS found Dr. Fryer and his staff to be outstanding. They are friendly, compassionate and have provided excellent care for my little guy. When he first came he needed to be sedated just to get his nails clipped. He was so afraid of strangers, especially vets. No more, just a quick visit in and out and he's done. The one reviewer who experienced severe delays with an emergency visit - all I can say is, "I'm shocked". That kind of treatment just isn't my experience here, ever. I know many others who bring all their pets here and they all share my feelings. Dr. Fryer is one of a kind. A special breed. So warm and kind, he makes you and your pet feel safe and cared for. The best vet ever. Dr. Fryer and his staff have been the best. We have gone to them for over 4 years and wouldn't dream of changing. Dr. Fryer is THE BEST. He has a way with all our animals that makes them all relaxed. Even a dog that the previous vet had muzzled has no problems with Dr. Fryer. Even a cat that tries to bite everyone was rubbing on him.
