Our dog Chloe injured her right hind leg at approximately 6:45 p.m. Wednesday night 659 I called the veterinarian they told us to come down immediately after I explained to them of my. My dog's injury. Very easily they could have sent it to Modesto which would have sucked!!!! I want to thank the staff for allowing us to come down there and such such short notice and the doctor for seeing our dog. Oakdale family Veterinary Care came through for us and that means more than anything we've been going there for many years recommend them to anyone specially anybody that's new to Oakdale thank you again staff

We are so pleased to have found Family Veterinary Care of Oakdale. Our dog had a skin condition that, after months, was not being resolved at another vet. In desperation to find relief for him we sought a second opinion. Dr. Gottschalk determined the cause and provided medications that quickly resolved the problem. Both Dr. Gottschalk and Dr. Tanner are very responsive as health issues arise with our dog and follow up with calls to check on his progress and answer our questions. The office staff are very professional and the office and rooms are always very clean and inviting.

I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff is. The day before Thanksgiving we had to make the heart wrenching decision to say goodbye to our fur baby "Chaka". Mel and the girls were so caring and supportive. Now our kitty became severely ill and we were so afraid we were going to lose him also. They worked literally night and day to make him well, the whole time letting us visit and updating us on his condition. I highly recommend them for being so heartfelt in the way they treat their patients and families.

Dr. Tanner and his surgical team are miracle workers. We are from out of town and our Ridgeback became ill and pooped a plate size of blood. We called the office and they were able to see us in our emergency state. An xray reveled a blocked intestine and the staff acted swiftly to cancel patients in order to perform emergency surgery on our beloved one year old pup. Dr. Tanner is a compassionate, caring, highly professional veterinarian. If it wasn't for his swift decisions our dog would not be alive. We are all grateful for him saving our pup and his sister was glad to have her brother back home and playful after recovering a couple of weeks. Last year both my parents passed, two of my cousins passed and a local schoolmate/deputy sheriff was murdered. We are still recovering from the shock of so much loss. We are so happy to have our furbaby home and healthy. TY

This Five Star review is long overdue; I met Dr. Mel in the park one afternoon many years ago after our Border Collie, Jazz, had recently healed up from a broken leg. I'm talking dogs with the fellow, and then he introduces himself as a veterinarian! Our family switched over to Old Towne and never looked back. The respect and care my dogs have always received here has never wavered, and I have and will continue to recommend this practice to all friends and new, local puppy parents. Our most recent visit was not the happiest, I believe we waited too long on some symptoms and just relied on our dogs' very healthy history, but we did not act in time. We want to thank Dr. Tanner and all the staff there for their caring and follow-up. Baby Blue thanks you, too.

Our lovely kitten was mutilated by having her ear tip cut off. The vet knew that the kitten was a house pet, and she had been seen twice before in the office. They claim that my mother requested the procedure...about 3/4 inch or more of her was cut off. The vet admitted that they wondered why my mother would request this, but no one bothered to call and check before permanently mutilating the cat. He even asked me if my mother had ever worked with pigs because evidently pigs get their ears marked in this way. YEAH RIGHT, MY MOM USED TO BE A PIG FARMER AND DECIDED TO HAVE HER KITTEN MARKED LIKE A PIG. We are just heartbroken, not that the kitty won't be fine, but at the incompetence and lack of follow through on a situation that did not seem right to them in the first place.

I cannot even begin to thank the staff here for taking care of our four (and three) legged family members. Most recently, our lab Chloe was found after an almost three year period of being missing from our property. She was malnourished and in bad shape when we were reunited. However, with a little fluid, medication, and lots of love from Dawn and staff, she is a happy girl once again! Can't thank you enough for the ability to enjoy one more Christmas with our girl:)

The vet admitted that they wondered why my mother would request this, but no one bothered to call and check before permanently mutilating the cat. He even asked me if my mother had ever worked with pigs because evidently pigs get their ears marked in this way. YEAH RIGHT, MY MOM USED TO BE A PIG FARMER AND DECIDED TO HAVE HER KITTEN MARKED LIKE A PIG. We are just heartbroken, not that the kitty won't be fine, but at the incompetence and lack of follow through on a situation that did not seem right to them in the first place.

I cannot even begin to thank the staff here for taking care of our four (and three) legged family members. Most recently, our lab Chloe was found after an almost three year period of being missing from our property. She was malnourished and in bad shape when we were reunited. However, with a little fluid, medication, and lots of love from Dawn and staff, she is a happy girl once again! Can't thank you enough for the ability to enjoy one more Christmas with our girl:)
