My dog was in desperate need of finding a vet to help her with an ongoing problem she was facing for over a year. I came here recommended by someone I met in the area where we had just moved into. The office is a two person operation clinic. Easy to get, park and good if you have an animal that don't want to be around a bunch of other animals waiting in a room. Lady in the front desk was also nice.Dr Jameson spoke and moved in a quiet manner. Didn't try to make eye contact or interact with me at all.  When I thanked him that first visit for the time he'd spent with us, he said "don't worry I am charging for it" while walking away from us and yes he did charge the extra time. I thought, "ok, he got a sense of humor" I had made a couple jokes myself trying to make the situation less unpleasant but I don't think he found any humor in anything I said. So I tried to just stick to not saying much at all in the other visits. I tried to like him but found him condescending and he lacked empathy. After blood work, ex-rays  and a bunch of money and time spent with him for no real diagnosis and seeing my dog suffer everyday I decided enough of that non-sense after a month or so.  After all the one thing I asked them was a copy of the X-ray which they made it super hard to get a copy of after I had found another doctor. They refused to send it my e-mail. The last time I called to check on something else they hang up on me so I did not want to go there anymore. The copy of the X-ray could only be sent by  fax then and when the fax came through not much was visible. We ended up having to do other tests in the other clinic. I found Dr. Mary Leeking from The Good Samaritan was the hope I had been looking for. My dog was was diagnosed with pancreatitis and almost died from it. If I had kept insisting with him I am pretty sure she would not be with us today. If your dog is sick and hurting everyday like mine was don't settle for wrong diagnosis. I moved out of the Oakland Hills, and because of distance quit seeing Dr. Jameson. Biggest mistake ever. I now drive well over an hour each way to take my pups to him, and it's worth every bit of time and gas it takes. He recently added an assistant, Sharifa, and she is so completely fantastic as well. Basically, he sees my pets, diagnoses them correctly without running a lot of unnecessary tests, and gets them feeling better in a short amount of time without draining my bank account. For a while I was paying over twice as much for less than half the care, and that'll never happen again. That's the general greatness, here's a story about Pickles. Pickles is a 12 y/o mini dachshund, she developed a very quickly growing mass on her breast. It's cancer, and Dr Jameson is worried about surgery because of her having a bad heart, her age, and obesity. So we wait it out, and get ready to say our goodbyes. Things get worse, we call him and discuss the options. We opt for surgery, knowing she could pass on the table. She comes out of it in great shape! The scar is barely visible, her attitude and general demeanor is better than it's been in years. He even clipped away the excess stomach skin from the weight she lost, and it looked like a tummy tuck. She's still going strong, but we know it's only a matter of time until the cancer comes back. But Dr Jameson is the only vet I'll feel confident in treating her when the time comes. Read Less

My dog had a growth on his eyelid that needed to be removed. We came from San Ramon to go to Dr. Jameson as we had heard of his reputation. He was very reasonably priced, and did an exceedingly excellent job. I was expecting to see a scar or divot where the growth was removed, but it looks as if it was never there. Dr. Jameson took the effort to make sure the result was not only medically sound, but aesthetically appealing as well. Read Less

I move to the area just a month ago, and did not have a vet in the east bay area when my elderly cat started showing obvious pain that wasn't passing. After searching around,  I finally came across Plaza, and I'm very glad i did. Reminds me of my farm vets where I grew up - honest,  understanding,  but practical as well.  There wasn't a need for an x ray,  so it wasn't suggested until AFTER I had paid in a "if you ever want to see that hip. .." I wasn't pushed into expensive upsells, and was given practical advice, PLUS, doc fit me in same day! Finally finding a vet in the bay area I like is huge,  my animals will be going here from now on! So the bubbie bears has a few problems. Just moved here from socal and I don't have a regular vet. Pull up yelp to find someone. There's all the regular reviews of people who love their vet but not the important info so I will post the 'essentials' for you. Dr Jamison Super small office. Seriously, there were 4 dogs in there and they were all on top of each other...might have been humping idkHe was manning the door as we walked in. Don't know if he had a staff and really didn't ask. When we entered he did not greet us but hey, he was with a client. It's cool. When we finally interacted and I described what my bubbie bears was going through. He asked that I go into the room with the bubbies and remove my clothing. I was here for my dog why do I have to take of my clothes.... Jk. He checked out the bubbies and gave me options. Coolest part was not really pushing any options that would have made him money. He's a bad sales person but in his line of work, I guess that makes him a good Dr. So went in cause my boy had a bad eye (the other stupid dog poked him 3 stoogies style) and had  a ballooning ear (ear filled with blood). Had to get the eye fixed but told me that if I didn't care that he looked like a UFC fighter, don't worry about the ear. Total with all meds (including the one I had to get at cvs) $150.Bottom line,Good guy, understands what you want to do, isn't going to push you with some unnecessary procedures and pretty affordable. I've been taking my dogs here since I adopted them more than 8 years ago.  Dr. Jameson is friendly and gentle. He provides general care including surgery, but may refer you to specialists if needed. His prices are very reasonable also.  He can charge less because he has low overhead. I am guessing. This office is a one man show so expect to wait sometimes and weigh your dog yourself on the scale in the lobby. You'll probably need to leave voice mails and you  may need to advocate for your pet some. He doesn't try to sell you unnecessary procedures that really just make the owner feel better but stress out the pet. He's always given me choices and honest opinions about what the outcomes might be.Overall I think he's great for routine stuff but because he doesn't push procedures he may also under care for your pet though. Dr. Jameson is the King of Vets, he's been our pets caretakers for nearly thirty years. I've moved further away, but his care for our pets is worth the travel.

I took my 5 month old Shorkweenie (Shorkie/Mini-Dachshund mix) to Dr. Jameson for her spay after reading the other Yelp reviews, and I must say that my experience lived up to the reviews. Dr. Jameson is very friendly but professional and does not push procedures or pad his bill.  His fees are extremely reasonable, especially for the area. He has excellent rapport with both pets and pet parents. When I was there, another client came in with his dog, all the way from Sacramento. The fact that someone will drive a couple of hours one way to see Dr. Jameson speaks volumes to me. I would highly recommend Dr. Jameson. Read Less

My cat had visited a few vets for her annual exam before meeting Dr. Jameson. On sight (and after feeling her thyroid), he suggested I get her thyroid checked out. Wow. He was right, she was later diagnosed with hyperthyroid. He was caring, professional,  and caught a diagnosis the other two places did not. A good Dr. is hard to come by. I'm a fan. Read Less

So, it's a fine line. Read Less
