Dr. Yang and his Thornhill Pet Hospital team strive to provide exceptional services in all areas of pet health and wellness in the Oakland area. We provide ongoing pet wellness care for puppies and kittens all the way up to senior pets, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and testing through our in-house laboratory, high-quality pet dental care, surgical services, access to local surgical specialists, and more. We have been bringing our two dogs to Thornhill pet hospital for years now. Feels like a small town vet. Very good service and our dogs are the better for there visits.

I took my kitty to be spayed here and they did such a great job with her! Her surgery scar was very small and it's almost gone now. The surgeon did such a great job compared to the one at VCA where I took my other kitty because there was no more space at Thornhill. My kitty from VCA was in so much pain and I looked at her scar and it was so crooked instead of a straight line, I don't know why but who ever spayed her did a terrible job.

Made an appointment several days in advance. Arrive on time. Front desk lets me know they are running 30 minutes behind. They ask me to wait in my car (on a hot and sunny day) because I brought my ...
Made an appointment several days in advance. Arrive on time. Front desk lets me know they are running 30 minutes behind. They ask me to wait in my car (on a hot and sunny day) because I brought my dog in with concerns about upper respiratory infection and thought it might be kennel cough. The doctor makes it out to my car and does the exam out of my trunk. Decides nothing is wrong with my dog even though he is actively struggling breathing. Charges me $65 and provides no guidance. Please go see a different vet. This was a huge waste of money and time.

Best vet practice I've ever been to. Dr. Yang is very thorough, calm and takes the time to explain things well. He has even called me after office hours in response to questions. The rest of the staff (go Alicia and Vicky!) are great, super nice and helpful. They will even file your pet insurance claims for you which is really nice. The prices here are good, I would say below average for the Bay Area. They try to give you discounts on care/meds whenever possible also. I would pay more and be no less happy, especially when you consider the state of veterinary care today - very overworked and underpaid. Pet health care costs have been rising along with human health costs due to many similar reasons: new technology, high cost of drugs and high education costs/debt loads for providers among other reasons, but vets make significantly less money than human physicians. The level of service provided by Thornhill is even more impressive when you take that into account with their good prices. And I'll also put in a plug for pet insurance: If for no other reason than if, like me, you don't ever want to be put in a position where you have to take money into account when deciding on your pet's medical care.

I took my kitty to be spayed here and they did such a great job with her! Her surgery scar was very small and it's almost gone now. The surgeon did such a great job compared to the one at VCA where I took my other kitty because there was no more space at Thornhill. My kitty from VCA was in so much pain and I looked at her scar and it was so crooked instead of a straight line, I don't know why but who ever spayed her did a terrible job.

Best vet practice I've ever been to. Dr. Yang is very thorough, calm and takes the time to explain things well. He has even called me after office hours in response to questions.
