This was our first visit to Woodminster Vet Hospital, and I have to say that this is an excellent veterinary office with a small-town feel. Everyone here is great to deal with, and we felt that they really cared about us and our dog. I thought that the prices were really reasonable as well. I have come here with my cat several times, every time I am more impressed than I was the last. I trust them to treat Pepper as they would their own animal, and I am always greeted with stories of how much they love him. He is an outdoor cat, so he often gets into fights, and when he gets an infection they are the first people I look to for quality care and service. The doctors are knowledgeable and the nurses are so kind and they really make the whole place shine. Even when Pepper is scared and without me, I never feel worried that he will be alone because he is with the nurses and doctors at Woodminster. My pet was admitted for a procedure and I was told he would be well and happy after it was done and his medicine was taken correctly. They were wrong and now I'm preparing my cat to be put down. It was like they didn't do the procedure at all, only drugged him up and made it worse. I don't recommend going here, they may have cheap prices but that's all it is. Cheap. Last year my 16-year-old cat Sassafras died suddenly on a Sunday. Woodminster Veterinarian Hospital was the only vet clinic around that was open at the time. They treated us with such care, kindness and compassion that I plan to be a loyal customer as long as I'm in the Bay Area. I now have two young and feisty cats who go to Woodminster for all of their check-ups. The Woodminster vets never try to up-sell us on unnecessary procedures. I have complete trust in their recommendations. I've had many negative experiences with other Bay Area vets, so it's a relief to find a clinic staffed with caring and trustworthy experts. Took me in on a last minute visit because my regular vet (Arroyo Veterinary Clinic) was not available and would only see me for an "emergency" visit price (What a mark-up sham!). The money I saved on the appointment alone, I spent on the actual treatment for my dog. They were very accommodating and nice while I was there. This Vet Hospital is AMAZING. I brought my little Kitten so many times in the beginning- shots, neutering and general care. Nurses are so great, (I wish I remembered their names!) and the Doc was amazing too! I was low on money that time, and they still provided the best care -I can never thank them enough. Ear Cropping: Took my Mastiff / Pit in for ear cropping he was 5 months old. The tips came out perfect and the ears look so cool! Looks like they had some trouble cutting near the cartilage, but I heard this is normal when the dogs get too old. So the back of one of the ears is less perfect than the other one, looks like a chunk missing about the size of a macaroni noodle and the other ear has a little extra bump the size of a bb on the edge, no big deal. However 2 weeks have just passed and the ears are almost fully healed and i am very happy with the final outcome. The missing chunk just ads some character in my opinion. Looks like he was in a fight. But who knows as things heal the ears keep looking better and better. At first sight they looked totally un even , but as time passed they got more even and more even. They did not over-diagnose, like many vets do. I did not feel that they were taking advantage. Competitively priced. Further, they Doctors were experienced and professional, and the surgeon kindly spoke with me about the procedure before it was done so that I completely understood what was going to happen to my pup. I have used the Woodminster vet for a number of our pets and I have always had a good experience with everyone in the hospital. From the receptionist, to the nurses to the doctors, everyone is kind, gentle, professional, knowledgable, and treated my pets with love and care and exceptional service, every single time!!. My oldest dog had some tumors removed. He was treated gently and kindly, and he endured the procedures very successfully and easily. My cat had to have most her teeth removed, they did the extractions quickly and successfully. She has recovered 110%. I love the fact that their hours are late during the week, and open on the weekends. Very user friendly for animal owners, because it seems they never get sick between 9-5, just like children! Excellent care for my dog, competitive pricing, great office hours and friendly staff make this the place to take any pet. My 6 year old pom-chi has been going there for about 7 months now. The entire staff is welcoming, well informed and I have every confidence in the medical care she is getting there. I had to bring her in for an emergency visit recently and was able to get in that same day with a procedure conducted the following day. Further, when she had an allergic reaction to her rabies shot at 6:00 p.m. one evening, I was able to take her right in for treatment. My old vet clinic would have sent me to the animal emergency hospital at that time of day, which would have cost a fortune. The care here is wonderful and the prices are quite reasonable. Will start on it nothing but bad stuff!! Main lady there is very nice. But it's a hit or miss now if you could actually get her to be your baby's doctor!! The gentleman there that's the doctor will kill your animal. it's like he's just experimenting on all of them he may know but he experiments!!!! I just lost my dog of 19 years to a medicine that they experimented on her with. Then was told she was too old. She was eating fine before that. I took her in for a knee injury. Then 1 1/2 week later because of his experimenting in my baby. Run from this facility fast!!! Protect your fur kids quickly!!!! have other doctors checking it past history medicines. Get a second opinion because these people will kill your babies fast!!!! I house will be forever in mourning over my 19 year old baby dog. If they're a hospital why aren't they open 24/7. My dog was spayed here using discount they had advertised. I foolishly thought it might be better care here than SPCA. Was I wrong. I won't go back. She got infected and they didn't even realize it. I since have heard from several breeders to avoid this place that is not well supervised. It's all about charging for as many extras as they can. Read Less

I used to go there with Dr C and then my cat passed away and I did not have courage to adopt another for some time! My husband suggested I should get another pet and finally I went to SPCA oaklandto get a pet. I wanted something different so I got a maltese dog. I called Woodminster Veterinary Hospital and made an appointment. I was surprised all the news changes they made and liked the care they gave me. The doctor explained me all the new things I did not know about fluffy. Fluffy had worms and she gave him deworming medication. I am impressed with the details and I should tell you I liked her much better than Dr C. I liked the great prices on puppy plans . Poor fluffy also got one shot. I worried about him and they called to see how he was doing at home. I have so far told two of my other friends about them and they also liked them. I liked the doctor,and the technician although the later was a little nervous. My dog needed a growth removal, and I wanted a free estimate. I live in Berkeley,and was looking for a Vet to clean FeeBee's teeth.My regular Vet quoted $489 and I thought it was high for simple teeth cleaning.I went to Oakland SPCA and amazingly their prices are not that cheap either. They gave me Woodminster reference telling they have some special dental prices. I was not sure but I called.I liked the way receptionist talked.
