Tail Wag Inn Veterinary Hospital And Boarding Kennel

Oakley, California
General Info
Pet owners throughout California have a clinical home approach at Oakley’s Tail Wag Inn Veterinary Hospital And Boarding Kennel. There is an adjustment of compassionate care plans according to the pets’ growth, change, and health-reset needs with clear communication. It shapes the appointments through weekly household and family observation. During the initial visits, veterinarians perform multiple physical examinations which include checks of dental health, gait and joint mobility, eye conditions, signs of dehydration and other illnesses targeting the nervous system. Pets’ owners can report the recent changes in the animal behavior including appetite and sleep patterns as well as their handling tolerance. The established patterns set the pace of care and prevent any action before its time. Tail Wag Inn Veterinary Hospital and Boarding Kennel offers preventive care diagnostic panels, weight tracking, surgical consultations, senior wellness services, and chronic condition coaching. The plan is tailored to the family’s specific needs, whether they live in a city apartment with new noise variables or a house with several pets at different life stages. Pet owners transition from preventive to monitoring stages and from temporary solutions to permanent well-being through understanding and meeting their pets’ evolving needs. Every step receives a simple explanation, and progress from one level to the next is measured based on three key factors: consistency of behavior, simpleness of home care, and full preparedness for the upcoming appointment. Rather than overwhelming families with a long list of tasks, we utilize a spaced approach that leverages flexibility and optional check-ins. Tail Wag Inn Veterinary Hospital And Boarding Kennel offers veterinary services to families in Oakley and throughout California that are in harmony with the natural life rhythm of pets through a responsive organized approach based on shared progress. The team provides specialized services such as Boarding, Cardiology, Dental Care, Diagnostics, and Grooming. Clients consistently applaud the practice for its dedication to care and unwavering attention to pets’ needs. Whether it’s routine check-ups or complex surgeries, your pet will be cared for in a serene and friendly setting.

Tail Wag Inn is a great place. I had reserved for my dog to stay at another kennel however my dog developed a skin allergy right before we were going on our trip and the kennel said they could not take a chance on my dog staying there because he may be contagious even when my dogs vet said he wasnt. So last minute I called Tail Wag Inn they called my dogs vet had the vet fax over his records and they accomadated my dog. Turns out my dog wasnt contagious. From now on I will be using Tail Wag whenever I and the family go out of town and my dog Domo needs a kennel. Staff is very friendly and it helps that it is a pet hospital too just in case something happens. The place is nice and clean and from what I saw the Kennel has AC just in case your pets stay during the summer months. As far as price Ive only used one other kennel for Domo to stay in it was a little cheaper or comparable to the other inn but not by much. But for the service that Tail Wag Inn gave me its was/is worth it. Read Less

Never have I ever wanted to smack a veterinarian across the face in my life. But the vet here has pushed me to the edge of it. When we first came for the convenience of it being near our house we were quite happy, our puppy had gotten all of his shots here and then once he got to maybe 2 years old ( had not needed any shots until this point ) we brought him back and what did we get? Attitude about how he was still in tact ( had testicles ) and for each and every one of the following visits we got attitude from lorie. From majority of the staff there is one severely nice nurse there but other than that I am highly disappointed with this vet. They are there for the money, not for the health of your pet. And it was readily apparent when hey wanted to do 7 x-rays week after week, test after test ( 2 of which they lost and charged us to do them again )And when we asked about oxygen to help our chihuahua( our second dog we brought there)  breathe easier we were treated by her yelling, and I mean yelling at my mother about how we would be better off putting him down and after that appointment my mom was in tears because she was being yelled at while our dog was dying and we were asking for a way to help him. So all in all if you enjoy horrible service, an attitude filled veterinarian, being charged for countless unneeded tests and procedures then this is the place for you. I only hope that you look at these reviews before you go to tail wag inn  just because it's close. Read Less

Meh. Not the worst care but not the best. The staff is very nice however the vet has horrible patient care. She spends most of her time looking at the computer, barely touches the patient (a doggie in our case) and cannot answer a single question - she ponds them off on her staff. When I arrived it looked like we were the only ones there but she was 20 minutes late for our appointment. When she asked questions it seems like she is judging your answers. My dog did get decent treatment from what I can tell, but I am not sure I'll go back just because of the vet's poor attitude. PS. They can be very pushy with unnecessary tests. Read Less

NEVER take your pet to Tail Wag Inn in Oakley. I have never had so much trouble with a vet. She charged me for unnecessary things and charged me for something I told her I didn't want her to do to my dog. At 2 she said my dogs ear procedure would be done by 3:30 and when my mom went to pick him up, they hadn't even started on him. He wasn't done until 4:30 and I was on my way back to Oakley from Pittsburg fighting traffic. I called and said that I was going to be there 5-10 minutes after 5 when they close. They said I could get my dog back that day but since I was going to be there a few minutes after 5, they were going to charge me with an overnight fee. No way am I going to pay an overnight fee for being 5 minutes late. The vet made me feel like it was my fault that my dog got an ear infection but I'm constantly cleaning his ears because he's been through this before and I hate seeing him in pain. Also she charged me for vaccinations I did not want them to do because he had already had his vaccinations done at another vets office. She said they didn't have the vaccinations on file so they gave him the shots WITHOUT my consent. I had to repeat myself over and over to her like she wasn't listening to me. Please, please, please don't go to this vet if you truly care about the well being of your pet. Read Less

After reading all the reviews I totally see what everyone means about the vet having an attitude. If your animals do not have shots she will ask you over and over "so no shots?" "This whole time you've had her/him, no shots?" Yes I 100% agree your animal should have shots but sometimes that doesn't always happen. I think saving a dog from going to a shelter and not getting shots right away is okay. Anyway I think she means well but can be a little bit rude. I haven't had any other problems with this place and for the things I have came for it seems fairly priced compared to other vets in the area. If you have the money to spend and want the absolute best for your animals you might be better going somewhere else.
