Terrible experiences here. Mr. Kang (can't call him a Dr.) lacked confidence when trying to first treat my dog for a limp and then again while attempting to diagnose regurgitation. Dog was limping, gave him ibuprofen after only looking at his paw and not his shoulder. Second visit was only because I needed my dog seen immediately because he was losing weight and not able to keep food in. I explained repeatedly that my dog was regurgitating his food and that nothing was going to his stomach. Ask any vet (except Kang) and they will tell you that regurgitation and vomiting are two completely different things. Kang kept calling it vomiting and wanted to first do blood work and then look at his digestive system. He was literally scratching his head and guessing for over an hour. A doctor/ vet should display confidence in their diagnoses and be willing to admit if they don't know something. I provided pictures of the regurgitation and very thorough details of the situation and it was all dismissed. Took my dog to Banfield Hospital the next day and the vet immediately wanted to x-ray the throat area because of the regurgitation (not vomiting) and discovered a very large tumor that was crushing my poor dog's esophagus. Unfortunately I had to put him down but Banfield did it right. Kang at College is not good. Even my dog didn't like him. He snapped at Kang both visits and my dog never snapped at anyone. Should have taken that as an indicator. Go to Banfield. They are the real experts. Read Less

The best vet clinic I've ever been to. They're very committed to my dog's health, and they're much cheaper than other places with nearly 3x the service/care they provide. They won't let me leave until they know what's wrong with my dog and have a solution in place to help him. A few months ago, my dog got attacked by another dog, and they let me see them last minute and did surgery to help him right away. I was dreading the bill, expecting it to run incredibly high, but it was much more reasonable than I was expecting. My dog is now happy and his old self again. I've moved since then, but I'll never be able to fully thank them for how well they've taken care of my dog and their good service. Read Less

My family and I have been taking our pets to Dr. Kang since I was a child. I've continued to take my animals there up until now. He recently performed a Mastectomy on my 12yr old Siberian husky who had a large tumor and totally botched it. My dog was having complications all week following the surgery, including excessive blood-loss, loss of appetite, and she was in tons of pain; Dr. Kang's team took her back a week later, kept her over night and again released her into my care, stating ""she's doing great and healing well."" Later that day, her nose began bleeding and her gums and tongue turned white and she could barely move - she went into shock. I rushed her to California Veterinary Specialists in Carlsbad, CA [good people] where I learned that she was extremely anoemic and her wounds were not healing properly at all - in fact, one was opening up! The toxins had spread all throughout her, and her system was completely shutting down. I, sadly, had to have her euthanized that night - after Dr. Kang told me she was doing great. I have always recommended him, and more importantly - I TRUSTED HIM, but never again. This was a truly horrible and unnecessary experience. I regret putting my poor dog through that. Read Less

Dr. Kang says he is just a old time country doctor, I say he is the best. He always takes his time and explains everything to me. Pulls out books to show me what he is talking about. Willing to look things up on the net or read anything I have suggested. I never feel rushed, my dogs love him. Cares about his patients and they feel it. His office is not fancy, yet he stays up to date with most current equipment. The fees are always fair. I feel safe taking my dogs to him, that is important to me. The staff is always friendly but more important to me, they are so well trained and knowledgeable. That was the first thing I noticed the first time I went there. So,if you are looking for a good vet that really cares I reccomend Dr. Donald Kang. Read Less

Later that day, her nose began bleeding and her gums and tongue turned white and she could barely move - she went into shock.

Read Less
