I have been bringing my dogs to Temple Heights for a while. Three Shelties and one Husky. One thing is Dr. Valdez is very knowledgeable about everything in the world of animal medicine. He's respectful and kind, and he will do things for your animals that most vets won't even do. His personality is tough, and he will give you advice on anything to help your dog. A prime example is when my oldest Sheltie who was suffering, Dr. Valdez stayed with her. Watched her like a hawk. He did this because he showed that he cared about her. The staff is also magnificent. Lindsey who works in the front and everywhere else too will be like Valdez and help out whenever needed. One big positive thing is that their office is small, and you have usually seen right away. I think all the times I have been there the max I had to wait was maybe 10 minutes. The only downside of the place is the technology used in the back. It is not up to standards like an ER will have. Valdez in a sense misdiagnosed my oldest's issues, but his gut instinct was right. He said it's something with her liver, which is true but all the tests he ran did not show liver issues. The ER could see different with their technology which is modernized. The ER noticed that she had developed masts around her liver, lungs, and heart. Valdez's ultrasound could not see that. It goes understand that Acute Internal Medicine issues need to be handled with an ER who have trained doctors to handle these iffy and difficult prognoses. The machinery/technology is rather old even from just looking at the pictures. It can't tell certain things as an ER can. Valdez is a perfect vet for doing everything that is not dire, shots, fixing, ears, eyes and other things. Acute Internal Medicine problems need to be done at the ER. But I will say again Valdez did everything in his power to make sure my baby girl was doing ok. Constant updates, and working on better ways to help her. She was with him for a few days, and he kept working on her to get her to walk again or to eat food. His perseverance to make things right is what makes him good. But, and this goes into ego a little bit, he needs to know when to call it off and send it to the ER for a better diagnosis. Like many other vets in the area, they don't know when to call the emergency room. One thing to mention that others have. Valdez HAS NEVER tried to upsell me into other products. Read Less
