Dr. Sallen and everyone at this hospital are amazing people. Smart, conscientious and aware that reality dictates on unpredictable occasions that despite unlimited love, a pet owner may not possess unlimited funds to fix their fur pet. They help find solutions for different situations. Yesterday, I brought in a very sick little terrier that did not belong to me, but I wanted to help, as much as possible. Dr. Sallen took matters step by step, caring for the welfare of the animal while minding my precarious financial situation by allowing me to carefully consider the costs of various options. Hats off to a gentleman, doctor and amazing human being. To choose this vet for your animals health maintenance and urgent care. Easily the best vet in Ojai! I went to Matilija & after their insensitive treatment I went to Dr. Sallen for a second opinion. Dr. Bailey actually suggested that I euthanize my 11-month-old dog over a broken leg!! The experience with Dr. Sallen was like night and day. This has been an incredibly compassionate and kind experience. My 15 year old cat Harley who had been to the Ojai Village before and had first rate care 3 years earlier, was now 15 and actually failed almost overnight. A friend of mine, while I was at work, called several clinics and the prices for euthanasia were more than I could manage, I called them, they took him right in and it was a price I could manage, unlike the others. They even gave me flowers for him and the kindness from the staff to the Doctor was unparalleled. The Ojai VILLAGE Veterinary Hospital and Dr Sallen as well as the staff has been a favorite of mine for some time, they really are a wonderful caring, NICE group, always willing to help and fit you in, last week it became time to let my Bear go, i called at 4:58pm because i kept finding a reason not to call and they got us in the next morning at 8:45 am, they transformed the usual room in to a soft, sweet, safe, calm place in which to say goodbye, they allowed suffient time for goodbyes before and after, se6mt a coldelence card a few days later in the mail, they have handled every detail including cremation with loving professionalism. I adore Ojai Village Veterinary Hospital. The staff is super personable and professional. Their prices are competitive and their customer service surpasses my expectations. It's really important to have a vet that you like and trust, and I trust Steve and his staff completely with my darling dogs. I use them for regular monthly maintenance (anal glands, nail trimming, etc), annual teeth cleanings, vaccines and emergencies. They're exceptionally good and thorough about ensuring I understand what's happening with my animals and work hard to give me peace of mind. We recently had to take our aging dog (17 years old) in as I suspected she may be sick. Well I was right and because of her age we all agreed letting her go was what we had to do.
