Healthy Pet Hospital And Grooming

Have had privilege of coming twice when my primary vet was closed. They have late hours and are very accomodating. Tonight, they were able to fit my baby in last minute and were so kind about it. The same for first appt in Dec also. Both times I have needed urgent appt—they really cared and helped make it possible for me come in—even though I called minutes before. Both times I have been BEYOND IMPRESSED. Veterinarians are kind, warm, and take their time with your beloved. The assistants are truly outstanding. All staff truly LOVE animals and it shows. I really cant say enough great things about this place and the quality of care. Front staff are also amazing. very reasonable price wise. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Excellent care provided. I have a very skittish dog and they always know how to handle her so that she can safely receive her vaccinations. They handle the dogs with care and expertise. My Bella was not acting herself for about a week so I knew I needed to take her in & it was a Sunday. Thank goodness Pet Hospital was open. She ended up having to have emergency surgery the same day. Needless to say I was a wreck crying & such thinking I was most horrible pet Mommy there was. All the staff there were so nice & told me that I was actually the complete opposite & a very good pet Mommy & noticed something was wrong & brought her in. They made me feel better. So not only do they cater to the animals but also their owners with nothing but caring & compassion. I have been to several different Vet's offices in the past but I really feel that I no longer have to look where to go in the future. We have found "our place & our people". I highly recommend this office for all your pet needs. Bella will definitely be going back for visits for just regular office visits (shots, grooming & such). Pet Hospital saved my puppy Canelo's life!! I called several vets asking if they can see my puppy that I suspected had parvo none of them would fit us in but Pet hospital immediately told me to come in and that's when all the wonderful services began! Right when we walked in they took us into a the examination room, Kristina and Dr. Rossi came in and explained what was going to happened. The odds of a puppy surviving Parvo aren't too good but they assured us they would take good care of him. Canelo spent 5 days in the hospital receiving treatment and the communication Elsa and Abel the vet techs had with me was amazing! They would call me every day with updates and none of the staff mind me calling all the time also asking questions and wanting more updates! I was worried about how much all the treatment would cost but they worked with me and gave me so many resources on what to do to get assistance to pay the bill! After 5 days I was able to bring my baby home. Elsa went over all the instructions very good and even called me the next day to check on Canelo. Also Devynn was amazing with all the paper work, all the staff was so caring and made my family and I feel welcomed. I just can't thank them enough for saving my puppy!! We love this place! Ziggy always gets nervous walking in, but once she sees the friendly staff, she gets super excited to say hi. We recently had to make an urgent appointment for Miss Ziggy, she hurt her arm, and we were able to get in the same day! I have thoroughly enjoyed the professionalism and services provided by this Pet Hospital, Usually , all I need is for regular grooming and monitoring of shots, flea treatments etc. But when I bring in my new rescue adoptee, they give her the full red carpet treatment. I came here to get my two GSDs spayed and neutered yesterday. Dropped them off at 8am and they were done before 1pm. One of my dogs has anxiety so they were kind enough to keep the two together in a large kennel. Dr. Wiatt was worried about their joints so they had X-Rays. I'm glad they did because now I know they have hip issues. One of them has to have a total hip replacement and they both have to take two types of supplements a day. I had no idea they were in pain and I'm so happy that Dr. Wiatt found a solution and explained in detail what is going on with their joints. My parents have been coming here for 20+ years for our cats and dogs. They do a wonderful job grooming cats and dogs, too! One of my Mom's dogs has anxiety when getting groomed, so we only take her here to one specific groomer so they can build a relationship. The first few times getting groomed, she would have to be sedated. After a few visits with the same groomer, she has no issue getting bathed and getting a haircut. Pet Hospital is the most caring and family friendly place we have been. Our dog is very special and suffers from Seizures and the Veterinarians are kind, caring, sincere, and have treated our dog as if he was their own. Seriously deserves much better reviews ! This place is amazing, I recently took my dog to the vet because she was shaking uncontrollably, crying randomly, not even eating or drinking. Thanks to them we found out what was wrong with her. Took her home the same day, and got medicine. So happy they were open on a Sunday, we didn't even make an appointment and were able to get in so fast! Treated our baby with so much care, and understood the emotions we were feeling. Read Less

My go to place for veterinarian care and grooming services. I was introduced to pet hospital through my fiancée. She has been taking her pets there for years. The staff are amazing and I always appreciate their follow up to see how are fur babies are doing. Just saved over a hundred dollars on dental services with a February promotion. Lots of people come here. I was dog sitting for a few weeks and my mom's dog had a bad ear infection, i couldnt get the drops in and it was just bad.  The pet hospital was earliest location in orange to open on a saturday. They open at 8 am and i had to go pick up my mom at LAX from her 3 pm arrival flight. They had a free exam coupon for new clients. They were booked with appts, but managed to squeeze us in since i told them the dog was in pain and i had to go get my mom. Christina the tech, the Vet (female forgot her name), the receptionists were all super nice and supportive!  They sedated and flushed my dogs ear and put meds in his ears. They gace me a folder with all his paperwork and called me the following two days to check on the dog. Super awesome team and location!! My Knowledge of dog medicine is not that good but as far as I know they seem to do an ok job with actually treating my dog.HOWEVER - Before they get to treating you be prepared to suffer through clueless vet techs and constant badgering to buy their products.  I mean jesus christs they're worse than telemarketers every five seconds oh we have have a product for this or that.  Like I said there is a huge discrepancy of knowledge between the vets and the other employees.  The vet told me not to feed my dog food that contains corn or soy. 5 seconds later the vet tech is trying to force me to buy their food with you guessed it corn and soyAlso they claim to be trained but tried to pick up my bulldog by the neck. Are you kidding me? I'm only going right now because I am moving in a month or two and will need a new vet anyways. Read Less

I would like to thank Pet Hospital for saving my dog.  She had a pretty big bladder stone in her body and it was causing her a great deal of pain, as well as eventual loss of appetite.  They recommended surgery as the best fix for the problem.  I really didn't see any other option but to go through with it, but during the whole process pre and post surgery they really showed a lot of care towards her, more so than other vets that I have been to before.  I would like to thank specifically Guido and Dr. Mantecon for your guidance during this difficult time in our family.  We love our dog so much and we are happy that we get to have her around longer now. My Australian Shepherd is deaf and has special needs. She's socially awkward with other animals and gets scared easily. The groomers at Pet Hospital make her feel at ease and take such great care of her.Read Less

I am so incredibly happy with the service I got here today! I brought Rupert in just a little over an hour ago for a declaw nail removal (it was detached and very sad) and just made it home in time for dinner. I have had some not so favorable moments with Irvine Vet Services and have been on the look out for a new vet, but with the three munchkins it's hard to transfer everyone over and find someone you trust. I brought Rupert in and they were able to see me within half an hour. Of course, I had to fill out the usual new client paperwork, but everyone working at reception was incredibly friendly and I didn't get the sense that this was just their "job" or that they were a pretentious bunch. Needless to say, the removal was quick and I assume pain free because Rupert is fine and was able to trundle out of the clinic on his own.Because everything went so smoothly, I even asked Megan for a price sheet on grooming, boarding and vaccines and everything is SO affordable and competitive. Best thing to hear is that they're a one stop shop and genuinely care about your little guy/girl.Dr. Wyatt was very informative and didn't push on not-urgent treatments like I am used to experiencing at IVS. The technician, Mark, was also very good with Rupert and was able to calm him down -- of course, the cheese they used was probably helpful! All in all, I am so pleased with the service I received today and definitely feel that the staff lives by their motto "we treat your pets like family." First time here -- I'm a fan already. I cannot wait to transfer the rest of my wolf pack to this clinic! Read Less

My dog is very nervous and insecure. She's not fond of strangers, let alone groomers. It breaks my heart every time I have to drop her off, but I know they take good care of her. Plus, she always looks so cute after getting groomed there-they put little ribbons around her ear!Read Less

My 5+ pets have been going here for over a decade. Adore the staff. Prices are reasonable, too. I have tried one or two other vets that maybe had a coupon or some special but always end up going to Pet Hospital because I didn't trust what the other place said. I brought my dog in to review for kennel cough -- he's coughed up hairballs all of his life but it was just sounding more intense. Upon review of my pet the tech suggested a problem because his heart rate was very high -- um, yeah, he's terrified of the vet...he only reacts this way when we go. Rather than accept this, Dr. Carolina Rossi wanted to do an EKG, Xray, Senior Panel, and charge me $1,000. Considering he's done a senior panel just 2 years ago and a follow up last year showed improvements in his lab, that was just asinine. The tech didn't listen to a friggin' thing I said -- I told her that we were going on a road trip in 4 months and I wanted something to protect against fleas and ticks. The estimate showed for one tablet to be taken immediately ($54 for that one). She kept assuring me that it would be good in his system for 3 months if he took it right away. Really?? They never tested for kennel cough. Their explanation to me was that the heart issue was more pressing. I refused to pay the exam fee because there were no services rendered for what I brought him in for and I'm not paying some crackpot, money hustling, new to the practice vet for an estimate for her witch-doctoring. Now, reflecting on our services...apparently we are still relatively new clients -- just three years now. Just one year into service this place recommended a senior panel and prescription dog food -- and I agreed for my pet's health. It appears that perhaps you just cater to senior pets and suggesting they need more of your unnecessary services than are needed. Add to this that my dog is moving out of the country in four months (which you knew about) and you want to tap into the last chance to make $$$. It's disgusting. Dr Wyatt is a personable and caring veterinarian. We first saw him at the vaccine clinic at Super Pets and even then, he took his time with our cat and answered all our questions. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend them. Read Less

This place does not deserve one star! A close family friend had an extremely sick dog that needed to be seen immediately and they couldn't even give them the time of day or show the least bit of compassion. They knew how concerned the family was and did nothing to help. The least they could have done was stop their dog from suffering by seeing her. But they couldn't take the time even for a 12 year long customer. They should be ashamed of themselves. If you want your animals to go to a caring pet hospital do NOT go here. Your lack of concern for my friends sick dog is very sad. You were called early in the morning because their dog needed to be seen but your lack of empathy forced my friend and his family to watch their precious pup die slowly at home. After being a patient there for years the least you could of done was offer to have her brought in to take a quick look to let this family know their pup was dying which they sadly knew. You could have helped ease the pups pain and suffering by humanely hastening her journey over the rainbow bridge and eased the family's pain having to watch her suffer Read Less

Dr. Wiatt is incompetent & has a terrible manner about him. I should have known that cockiness doesn't equal confidence or experience. My dog DIED after being neutered by him. Dr. Wiatt was so confident about the surgery . . . but I have the medical records and he used ACE on my pug which causes DEATH in brachycephalic breeds. He has no clue what he's doing. He also extracted a few ""puppy teeth"" while my dog was under anaesthesia without my consent. My dog died from this surgery. Be careful about the environment you choose. If you feel a STALE vibe from the doctor & the staff . . . run for your life. There is nothing about this place that feels like home. It's just a cash cow & DEATH. I can't remember anyone in my life being as insensitive as Dr. Wiatt was to me. And on top of EVERYTHING . . . they're still making me pay for the surgery that killed my dog!!! And according to them they are doing me a favor by ONLY charging me for the surgery & not charging me for the ER visit when I took him back in after the surgery & he wasn't breathing. They told me they were doing CPR and that was it. Countless times the assistant came in & said we are still doing CPR. And now I'm supposed to be GRATEFUL that they aren't charging me for the emergency visit??? And I'm told that the cost of the emergency CPR they gave him was more than the surgery itself so I still have to pay for that. BTW the surgery was $500 so I can't imagine the ER visit with CPR being more than the cost of the surgery. I demanded to know what was done other than CPR that would cost more than the surgery & got silence on the other end of the phone. That's right. And when ""Dr"" Wiatt came in we still thought our pup was alive until he said . . . ""oh he was gone when you brought him in here"". Imagine that being said in the most flippant & arrogant tone ever. Nuff said. Do yourself & all of your neighbors a favor & don't ever go to this place. Not even the other pet owners talk to you or interact or are even curious about your dog there. And that says a lot to me. The new place I found . . . they new every single dog that walked in that door personally & all of the owners were happy & wanted to play with my puppy too. STARK contrast to this stale place where people don't even want to interact with you. Read Less

HORRIBLE! Took my dog there at 6pm FRI after she came in from a potty break violently trembling. I headed over to OPH. Dr. checked her and said it was a problem with her back so he applied a treatment with a spring loaded gadget down her entire spine. I asked for an X-RAY and he said it was not necessary, that if she did not improve within a week, he would do an XRAY at that time. He applied his treatment with the gadget and my dog yelleped each time as he came to the mid back area. He did this 3 x's. Each time the dog yellep louder. He told me to come back each week for more treatments. (For this 10 min. pleasure my vet bill was $128.42) He told me to keep the dog in a carrier. He gave her a pain shot and said the trembling would stop. IT DID NOT! By 1 am the dog was still trembling & paralyzed from the waist down! I took the dog to my vet who treated her with steroid shots and better pain meds. He said the stuff these people used was "old school" and the shot was used for horses & NOT on dogs anymore! She stayed at my vet for 4 days and she is now at home and we do not know if she will recover. I've read vet blogs everywhere and it states for dogs with ruptured discs... "DO NOT TREAT AREA IMMEDIATELY DIRECTLY WITH CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT!" I called the office on Saturday morning to advise the staff.... and the receptionist said I would get a call on Monday from the manager to discuss the issue. Today is Thursday....still no call! Truly caring staff and exceptional work. Did two separate surgeries on my little pit bull. One for a hernia and one for a torn ACL. Top quality work. Great Staff also. Highly Recommended for Vet and Grooming. Can't comment on price as I have nothibng to cmpare against, but the quality is there and well worth it. Read Less
