Wow... I can't believe some of these haters on their one star reviews. There is no way that Dr. Jyl is even remotely those things the haters said. I've been taking my pets to Dr. Jyl since 2004. At that time I had recently moved in with my boyfriend who had 2 dogs (2 & 14 year old) and I had one cat (10 yrs old) from the Bay Area. We rescued a 3rd dog that summer from a neighbor (who just couldn't handle him). Since I needed a Vet I asked them who they used. They referred me to Dr. Jyl.
Now you have to understand, my cat was very special to me. I am epileptic and my cat had the ability to warn me within seconds of me having a seizure. Needless to say I took my bestfriend to the best of the best Vets - from L.A. to San Francisco when she had medical issues. Not only did my cat live a healthy 20 years, but Dr. Jyl had saved her life twice. Her & her staff went the extra mile to research and correctly diagnose a very rare condition that is basically unheard of in the US.
I refer everyone to her, because she believes in & practices Western/Eastern philosophy of medicine, which is not Gypsy Oil (as a hater stated). She is a well rounded, diverse, highly intelligent, educated knowledgeable Veterinarian. Who is always bettering herself, by expanding (going outside the box) her approach to veterinary medicine,
As far as her not caring... that is so far from the truth. Point in case: I had an appointment with her around 4pm. When I arrived the staff informed me that Dr. Jyl is running behind due to complications she had in surgery w/another pet. I said thats okay I'll wait, because if it were my animal in there, I would want her to give them her full attention. Anyway, come to find out, it was a dog giving birth to 10 puppies or so she thought (x-rays showed 10), but there were 3 more and the dog was too tired to deliver and complications sat in. Long story short, those 3 puppies came out stillborns. I witnessed Dr. Jyl & her staff for 20 min. giving nonstop CPR to these little guys in hope to see them breathe. It was amazing. Two began to breathe on their own, but sadly to say, one did not make it. They tried for another 20 min to get it to breathe, but it never did. Dr. Jyl and her staff care about each and every animal as if it where their own. She was so saddened that she couldn't save the 13 puppy.
Haters will always be haters. If it wasn't the Vet, it would of been the bagger at the grocery store or the teller at the bank.
I recommend Dr. Jyl to everyone. She is an excellent Vet. who actually gets it! .Read Less
