Love this Vet hospital. All the staff is awesome and Dr Metzler is the best. They treat breeders with respect and acknowledge that we know our dogs and what we are doing.

Called in to ask the price for a simple service. Was put on hold for almost 10 minutes then they started asking for personal information. I reminded the lady I just wanted a price check and she said t...
Called in to ask the price for a simple service. Was put on hold for almost 10 minutes then they started asking for personal information. I reminded the lady I just wanted a price check and she said there is a 46 dollar first time fee just to "meet and build a relationship with your dog". I said I would prefer to skip that and just get the dog checked out and she asked if I would say that to my personal doctor? I informed her (in nicer terms) that I would and have told my doctor to shove his extra fees up his ass. She then hung up on me. Suuuuuper professional

Went here today for the first time. I was very pleased and impressed with how they handled my dog in that they were not afraid raid to hold her or touch her. They will be my vet from now on. It's good bye American River they will no longer treat my little girl.

I can not say enough about Dr. Metzler & her staff at Orangevale Veterinary Hospital! I have not met more knowledgeable Dr. and/or staff anywhere! I could go on and on about the many positive experiences I've had, from the cost savings on prescriptions, to the amazing way Dr. Metzler was able to advise me over the phone, on her day off while out of town that my singleton puppy needed to be C-sectioned that day, and was able to recommend a vet to handle it for me, much closer to my home.
The puppy was delivered just in time and both mom & baby are happy & healthy!
I've never had a negative experience at Orangevale, neither have my pups!

I had a dog who was very very ill. Metzler and her staff did a great job doing everything they could for her. It was a two month trial. Between Metzlers office, Bradshaw (which was closer to me), and ultimately UCD, they tried everything. But I was forced to let her go. It was the hardest thing. But Dr. Metzler understood. And when I asked that they allow me to hold her while they put her down, she did not object. Her entire staff came into the room with me for support, and to say good bye. They all grew to love my baby. I have gone to Metzlers for years. My mom goes to them for reproduction, I know several breeders who use her services, and friends who love stopping in and seeing whats going on. The only downside, Metzler is so busy, its hard for her to speak with you on the phone. However, if its an emergency, or she knows your working with UCD to save your pets life, she drops EVERYTHING to help you. Which I loved. She is a great women. She even worked overtime for me. Had her staff leave, and finished doing what she was doing to help me out. I hope she NEVER leaves. Sacramento/Northern CA needs her. Its hard to find a good repro vet. And a vet who is honest, and NOT money hungry.

We have used them for our repro vet and they did a phenomenal job. We did frozen AI from a hall of fame dog and they have the same success rate as live cover. They came in on the weekend while closed...
We have used them for our repro vet and they did a phenomenal job. We did frozen AI from a hall of fame dog and they have the same success rate as live cover. They came in on the weekend while closed to not only do the procedure, as that was the timing, but also the dews and tail docs. We live near UC Davis, but this repro vet has a better reputation and our successes with them, as well as others in the region proves that out. They are much more cost effective, probably because their location is between a couple industrial buildings and not in shopping mall, but make no mistake - the care the dogs receive is top notch. Apparently you might want to file your shot records though...

I can not say enough about Dr. Metzler & her staff at Orangevale Veterinary Hospital! I have not met more knowledgeable Dr. and/or staff anywhere! I could go on and on about the many positive experiences I've had, from the cost savings on prescriptions, to the amazing way Dr. Metzler was able to advise me over the phone, on her day off while out of town that my singleton puppy needed to be C-sectioned that day, and was able to recommend a vet to handle it for me, much closer to my home.
