Horrible! The main vet tech girl was gross and accusatory when she asked us why we didn’t bring in our dog earlier when our dogs cast was undone. The man who is the main vet came in yelling and screaming. Disgusting. It’s overpriced as well... I recommend Conejo Valley pet hospital instead. And not to mention the vet asked us what we thought about the sexual assault accusations going on in Hollywood.. how uncomfortable and atrocious. It was not the time or place to talk about r*pe...The only nice person is the receptionist Jessica. I went there for advice about certain medication for my cat. The lady at the front desk was really nice and helpful. As soon as we went in to the room and the vet arrived we were definitely screamed at. This is my first pet and im learning and the people there were not helpful. Everything I said was held against me and it was truly a horrific experience on top of all of it we paid the fee for consultation even though the vet did not want to give my cat the medication, we had to give it to her at home. Cottage Animal may seem friendly but they are crooks. We took our pet today because he was limping. We usually go some where else but they were closed today. Vet gave his recommendation that the cat had gotten bitten and had an infection. This happened last year and we just had to give him antibiotics. This Vet recommended the same antibiotics but said he will also need pain and IV for liquids. Unfortunately we counldnt do all three due to money issues and asked if we can have the antibiotics. he said , no you have to do all three or I won't give you the antibiotics. Wow! Can you believe that. So basically I'm SOL because I can't afford all three recommendations. When all my cat needs to get better is the antibiotics. I understand that's you recommendation but seriously refusing any help at all because you want us to pay it allor nothing. That's seriously messed up and just show how much you really care about animals. What a selfish Vet. Not only did he refuse giving us any help but I had to wait on the phone for an 1hr. when I called him back after the visit to once again ask him for the medication. Read Less

Best vet clinic ever! I took my newly adopted Maltese mix to this vet for his complimentary check up (compliments of the Ventura County Animal Shelter). I was able to book a same-day appointment, which was great because I really needed my doggy to be checked. My poor dog had a lot of issues & the vet, Dr. Emad, let me know that once he was done with the check up, he would explain everything in detail. He let me know my options and even gave me his honest opinion about some of my dog's issues. Since my dog had just gotten neutered and could not get a much needed bath & grooming until he was fully healed, Dr. Emad very generously decided to trim the long hair on my dog's face so that my dog could see a little better. Once the vet was done with the check-up, he moved on to his next patient, while the vet tech began trimming my dog's nails in another room. Since there were no patients in the waiting room, I was allowed to stay in the patient's room until my dog's check up was done. Overall, my experience at this vet clinic was 100% positive. I'll be switching my other pets to this vet too. Highly recommended for anybody who loves their pets and enjoys getting great service. Read Less

I love this animal hospital. The vets are amazing, so helpful, patient and knowledgeable. The front staff is great. A lot of available appointments. The location is good although parking sucks. The hospital is nice and clean with a lot of space inside. The waiting area is small. They deserve 5 stars for sure. They made me feel comfortable and understood when I brought my babies in. They were so nice to my babies too, I loved it. The prices equal to other animal hospitals and vets around. They accept debit and credit cards. This place is horrible. Do not take your pet here if it's any type of a serious medical situation. They might be good for vaccinations and simple things like that but that's about it. My dog almost died because of them. The whole staff was unprofessional and unorganized when I took my dog there several times. Please save your time and money. They will try to rip you off. GREAT STAFF AND PRICES !!! Was going to give them 1 or 1/2 a star because this is the hospital that put my 5 month old DUTCH SPEHERD down. Being the only VET in Oxnard that would see me on emergency's notice with no APPT .. Bring in ANGEL bring her in ..Took her and ahe was diagnosed with TETANUS ,TETANUS is the stiffening of muscles like paralysis and attacks the brain they gave me the option of keeping her there or taking her home with meds and see if she makes through the night .. She lasted 2 weeks and condition didn't get worse but didn't improve also.. She was every bit her breed to the very end growling at my other dogs ,and wagging her tail when she heard me or my kids in the room with her .. After a few go arounds with the Vet we decided to put her down, didn't think it would be that hard after only having ANGEL for only 3 months .. I thought I could stay In the room and hold her on her for her last breath , I couldn't .. the staff took very good care of my dog during her final moments here Thank you COTTAGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!Read Less

I take Mimi and Benji here for their continuous vaccinations and compared to Banfield, the wait isn't too long to be seen.Everyone here from the front office staff to the vet techs have been friendly and helpful. After my 2 pugs got up on the counter and ate an organic dark chocolate bar with 73% cocoa I took them to Cottage Animal Hospital in Oxnard. I thought their recording said they take walk-ins on Saturday from 1-3, but when I got there around 2:30 the receptionist informed me it was past the time for walk-ins. When she learned they had just ate chocolate she got them in to see the Dr. \He was great. Very concerned about their heart condition. Barnum was fine, but Bailey was hyper like I've never seen her before. She wouldn't even sit still on my lap to pet her, which is totally unlike her. The vet listened to their hearts & bellies and that was fine, but Bailey (the smaller female) had a temp of 103, which he said was high, that she was overheated, breathing heavily, & needed hydration. After awhile she took a break from all her activity & laid spread out on the cold linoleum floor in the exam room. So then he was going to have me take her home, give her lots of water, get her to relax to take the stress off her heart & lungs. Then she vomited & when he could see how much chocolate she had ingested he said she needed to be hydrated (an IV) & would get to me with an estimate.I told the receptionist when I arrived I only had enough $$ for the exams ($86 for the two of them). So when another office worker with long dark hair came into the room & said the IV hydration would cost an additional $51 I asked if I could go home & get the additional $$. It would only take about 10-20 minutes. She said they were closing in 6 minutes & couldn't wait. This emergency hydration that costs $50 they can't wait 20 minutes? Guess it's not critical enough. I asked how to hydrate at home and another, kindhearted, tall, blond vet assistant suggested I get some unflavored Pedialite for her.I liked the Dr. I liked the Veterinary Assistant, but not being willing to wait 20 minutes to do what the Dr. impressed upon me was a critical issue was just too cold-hearted for me to ever consider going back. I currently live in Chicago and my work schedule is very hectic so my Mom is watching my dog for me for a few months. When my dog was due for her vaccines I called a few places in the Oxnard area and Cottage Animal Hospital had the most accomidating receptionists. I initially was going to send her to Oxnard Veterinary Hospital but the receptionist was so rude. Cottage allowed me to fax previous records and new client forms so my Mom would not have to worry about these.After the appointment my Mom was taken back by how nice everyone was, the vet even showed her the results from the heart worm test and took time to explain everything to her. we've taken our dogs here to get their annual check ups, immunizations, and unfortunately, have our boxer put down.its a small clinic, but the staff is wonderful. youre always greeted with a smile and the girls behind the front desk are always polite. Dr. Emad is awesome. he is very gentle with my dog, but when she starts to act up, he doesn't take her bratty bullsh*t. when my fatty dog was 5lbs overweight, he didn't just say "your dog needs to lose weight." he explained to us hows and whys. then he gave us a regimen to follow and within a month and a half my dog was at a healthy weight.he is also very compassionate. when we had to put our old dog down, he walked us through the whole procedure and made sure she was comfortable throughout.on saturdays, they have the immunizations clinic and i recommend getting there early so you dont have to wait in line for too long. overall, this is a great practice. i'd recommend taking your pet here if you want quality care! ...i miss this place...i started going here because my whole family went here and so when i moved to The Nard and got a dog i can here too....my family was right, they are really good. the facility is in a semi-industrial area and isnt brand new but the staff is really kind and i am convinced that they really care about you and about your pet, i have never had a bad experience here, they are just so nice but nice is one thing, aside from that they are actually really good pet docs....here is the only thing...and its not at all their fault...being oxnard if you go there expect a ton of pit bulls being taken in for shots or treatments of some kind...pit bulls are only as cool as their owners and if your 6 years old youre not strong enough to hold onto a pit bull no matter how nice he is, for those of us who have been found by small dogs, we need yer help, please hang on to your own pet and dont give the leash to a kid or someone lighter than the dog...its just for everyones safety.... cottage is the place for great general pet care i cant wait to go back Read Less

The vet and staff at Cottage Animal Hospital have given my dog and I wonderful care. The vets are excellent. The prices are reasonable. The staff provides personable service. They remember you and your dog. The only downside is that sometimes they are very busy and I have had to sit in the waiting room for a very long time. I went to Cottage Animal Hospital for about 1.5 yrs. from the time my dog was a little puppy to when we moved out of the area. Read Less
