I took my black dog to the high desert Animal hospital , due he had trouble to evacuate ,he was 10 years old, and the owner of the hospital gay nadicht , told me that’s I need to leave my dog there for three day to treat his constipacion, so when I came to check my dog Gay told me that she need to neuter him , because she think that cud help him , and she did that , then she told me that I to pay extra for a X-rays and my bill getting higher and higher , then Gay told me that his prostate was inflammation and charges me $4,000 and gave me all kind of prednisone to shrink his prostate , and she told me when his prostate shrinks my dog will be able to evacuate , and she gave a bunch of enenas and bunch of antibiotics , my poor dog was suffering he was worst and when he strengthens to make a bowl movement he pops out his stitches , and got infected , I don’t know how many time I run with my poor dog on agony , so she keep takin x rays and lies about it that I need time to his prostate shrink , when I saw my poor dog getting worse and worse , I took him to another , vet hospital for a second opinion , ASEC, and the vet there said that neutered a 10 years old Dog was unnecessary , and they call the high desert animal care hospital , to fax the x rays and medical records , they never fax it and we wait more then three hours , an they never did , and I had to pay to this hospital for X-ray $470, just to find out what’s was the real problem of my dog , they immediately told me that he had a big tumor that pressure the colon , and that’s why he cude’nt pass or defecar, and they told me that tumor was cancer and I need it to put him to sleep , I was so devastated , how a vet cud be so cruel to make suffering my dog to steal my money ? I took my 8 yr.old Chihuahua to high desert animal hospital for what I thought was gonna be a physical and a refill of his seizures medication. I Explained to Gray that my dog have had fluid in his lungs so she listed to his lungs and said she didn't hear anything so she insisted that she check his thyroids she gave me a price of $450.00 I told her I couldn't afford that so she insisted that she do an xray to see his organs . GAY later came back and told me that my dog had heart worms and his heart was failing do to that i told her that my dog have never been out of California and she stated " well then he don't have heart worms but i still want to check and walled off. I went to Tammy so she could tell Gay to stop the test and she stated "I don't know what was said so I'm not getting in it". GAY later came out and told me that he had a collapse trakea, enlarge heart and liver and that she wanted to do surgery on his trakea (red flag) so I told he no and give me my dog. They charged me $220.00 and nothing was done to help him I later took him to another vet were I was told his organs are healthy and his trakea is fine. I tried to set up an appointment with this place just to get a routine check-up for my 2 dogs and 1 cat but I could never reach them! I left 4 messages and used their on-line appointment system 4 times within a 2 week time frame but they never returned my calls or wrote me an email to follow-up. When you call their number, you just get a machine asking you to leave a message to set up an appointment or visit their on-line appointment system, so it doesn't help that an actual person doesn't even pick up the phone. I'm new to the area, and just wanted to get my pet documents transferred to a local vet and get their shots updated....it doesn't seem like it should be that hard to get an appointment. I'm disappointed I wasted so much time trying to contact this place....all for nothing. My business obviously is deserved elsewhere. Read Less

I've been taking my pets to High Desert Animal Care Hospital for over 25 years. I've never had a bad experience during those years. The staff is friendly and they handle the animals with kid gloves. I once had a cat that was having kidney problems. The course of treatment wasn't working and he was getting worse. During the final exam the vet was giving me the facts and I wasn't detecting any false hope. I asked her " is it time yet" (euthanasia). She paused, her eyes teared up and she nodded yes. Her compassion really touched my heart and helped me make a very painful decision. A few days later I received a sympathy card from the vet and staff. Receptionist are very rude told me to go around building with my dog had no idea why until I was told she might have parvo. I get it but at least expalin to me why your sending me around the building waiting there for 10 min nobody shows up go around the building to let them know that noone has opened the door.Very rudley she tells me that my dog cannot be in the front because they think. She has parvo without even checking her records have brought her there since she was a small puppy. They should know my dog has all her shots they did it. 2 days after I got Chance he started bleeding from his nose. This cont for 3 weeks. After 3 test I was told Chance needed a surgical procedure to scope his nose. After a few calls to local vets that do this procedure $2500.00+ was out of my budget. My friend Kim Updegraft suggested Dr. Gay Naiditch @ High Desert Animal Care. I drove 1 1/hrs on Dec 23rd Chance was examined and nose scoped for less then $300.00. A piece of tissue was removed and has not had any bleeding since, has gained some back weight, no fever and as Playful as can be and did GREAT on our 7 days Road trip.... Worst Vet Clinic ever took my beautiful 13 yr old cat there 2 times in a month for loss of hair and loss of weight they charged us 600 dollars over that month money i had to borrow for me to have to bury my cat today.. iv fluids, xray, blood work and my cat was healthy just ask them everything was normal... well it wasn't normal he was a mainecoon long hair beautiful cat and he was loosing his hair in clumps and then was not wanting to eat or drink water well we are almost 100% sure my cat died of mange and today i will be demanding a refund of money because nothing they did to my healthy cat saved him from a painful death of parasites eating him the sad thing is second visit vet wanted us to give iv fluids and watch him and the tech made a comment as we were leaving it looks like he has something going on with his skin funny the vet did not say anything about that but my husband and i were sure concerned about that and neither of us went to vet school nothing they do can bring back my beautiful Sirius but ill be damned if im going to let them have all that money of mine to only kill other peoples pets as well... So moral of the story pet owner beware this vet hospital only cares about the all mighty buck not your pet and beloved family member. Read Less

I've been taking my pets here for 25 years! The staff is very friendly and understanding. 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child, I thought I had to say good bye to my beloved cat of 14 years. I didn't know what was wrong with her! After exploratory surgery, they found she had abnormalities on her liver and kidneys. They saved her life!!! She is now 18 1/2 years old and my daughter's best friend too! 3 years ago, I adopted a puppy from the Lancaster Animal shelter. It came down with Parvovirus. The vets at high desert animal hospital reassured me that they would do everything they could and I wasnt alone. The passion they have for animals is tremendous! They saved my pound puppy! I have been a customer since 2006. The front office staff , the vet techs, and Dr. Naiditch have always been kind and fair. Dr. Naiditch has euthanized three of my dogs and was extremely sensitive and explained all of our options beforehand. As a matter of fact, she is very thorough about all of the procedures we have done. We find all of our dogs in the streets of Littlerock and Dr. Naiditch knows this about us. She does her best to advise us, even when we aren't the best stewards of our flock, and could do better by them. Read Less

My dog is gone after I paid $6,000 to them for surgeries one after another for always something new and they accept jewelry too I wouldn't take my animal back there ever again and anybody in their right mind wouldn't do so either there are so many better and appropriate places to take your babies in Antelope Valley I wouldn't take my dog back there cat or any animal unless you're rich don't go there I miss my baby and I would pay more to keep them alive but not there I oh they name the tree after my baby 2 it only costed me his life and $6,000 I'm so honored slap to my baby's good name and face You Oughta be ashamed of yourself like that will make up for it their life !!! Brought our new found friend in for a check up, shots and a chip. Within 24 hours, he passed away. We really don't know what happened. Maybe it was just a coincidence that our puppy passed away. The staff was very sympathetic about our loss and even offered a refund of services. But that will not bring our little guy back. My last visit here was to get my cat her shots and groomed. This place is awesome. They are always so sweet and great with your pets. The groomer I had was Desiree, it was her first day there. She was AMAZING. She listened to everything I wanted and all my concerns. She even called me personally to let me know how my cat did when she was done and made sure to check on her throughout the day until I could pick her up.
