This without a doubt bar none the absolute best veterinary hospital I have ever been to. I have been seeing Dr McKuen with my dogs cats and birds since 1987. He is a great diagnostician. He loves to explain things and take you back to look in the microscope. The vets the he brings in as associates are always top notch. Some of his office staff have been with him since he opened. That’s something right there!! Palmdale Veterinary Hospital has euthanized sadly several of my pets over the years, always respectful and caring. I can’t say enough good things about this place!

Well how do I begin.. I went in today for low cost vaccine clinic and was treated unfairly. I went as soon as the hours began because not only I wanted to pay less for my dog's vaccinations, but I do suffer with chronic pain which was from a car accident caused injury and sitting/standing causes more pain. I also missed a doctor's appointment which was at 2pm because someone from the front desk misplaced my dog's chart. This is unacceptable. I was in the office for fast service yes there were many other pet owners waiting but my chart not being placed in the correct spot made the wait longer and seem like I was being skipped. I am furious with this and I do believe it shouldn't have happened. This is a irresponsibility on the staff's side.

I have been taking my dog here for a few years now. I called for a rabies vac and bath and the receptionist said that they don't do baths, they are not a groomer. Yet my dog has had multiple baths there. Her attitude was completely uncalled for and I will now be looking for a new vet and "groomer".

I give 1star just so I can leave a review. I brought my pet here just one time. I had a beautiful healthy animal that needed to be fixed and that's all. I brought him early in the morning as requested. As I turned to leave I looked back and he looked nervous, I was a little too I'd never left him anywhere before. Anywa, I received a call less then 2 hours later saying he was dying requesting more money to save him I said, "I went to the office since pick up wasn't till afternoon but I'm on my way." I wanted to see him, it seemed a little odd that they'd stop helping him to call and ask me for more money. All the way they kept calling saying he's going to die if you don't agree to more money, it was torture and just as I existed the freeway the final call said he's gone. They said but come anyway so you can pay your bill. I've had a couple of pets in my life I don't get to emotional but I pulled over and cried for a moment. I could still see that little face looking at me as if to say, "I don't like this but I trust you."

So they opened up my cat to spay her only to find out she was already spayed. They charged me for the spay anyway.
Come to pick her up (way past morning the next day) and they give her to me. I sit at the counter for 45 minutes waiting for them to actually get my chart together because they hadn't. And then they tell me they still haven't given her pain meds so they take her back again.
Won't be bribing any of my animals here ever again.

I wish I could go back in time! The teeth were trimmed uneven, now the pug stopped eating properly, won't even bite a carrot, lost half of his weight, now looks more like furry rat!
I brought him in again in a month, the teeth were trimmed proper, but when I requested refund for the first crappy job, they refused and kept telling me, that even though I had him for over a year, apparently last month they must've hit a growth sprout, I've seen my pigs teeth, their lenght did not change that much since!
Anyway, will not set my foot in that place ever again!!!

I brought my pet chicken Sasha to this vet to be seeing by Dr. McEwan, and was very satisfied with the visit.
Dr. McEwan is very knowledgeable about bird health. Before starting any procedures, he told me he would like to give me an estimate what it would cost so that I can make a decision. The staff weren't pushing to do unnecessary tests at all. Luckily X-ray revealed the problem right away, and another test wasn't necessary.
Also when I called back after the visit to discuss the treatment and medication, Dr. McEwan personally talked to me on a phone. Usually vet assistants do all the talking after the doctor is done with the visit.
Overall I had good experience at Palmdale Veterinary Hospital, and I would recommend this place to other pet owners.

They see a variety of animals, and always have appointments available within 1-2 days when needed; sometimes, the same day. Dr. McEwan is an Avian specialist, and a good one. Like I said, he sees and knows all types of pets, and is one of the best Vets around.

First time today bringing my animals here. I brought my rabbit who was in bad shape with some type of eye infection, and other issues. We were really stressed out about it because we didn't quite know what was wrong. The woman at the front desk was extremely nice and welcoming. The vet tech working with us was so comforting and helpful and so gentle with my bunny. Dr. McEwan was incredible. He swabbed my rabbit's eye right there and went and tested it to give us an answer within 15 minutes. All in all, the staff is great and it was a great price. We went home with great instructions on the medications. And speaking of medications, we got five, and it was all under $150, including the visit. Affordable and amazing! And to top it off, the waiting room, and individual room was sparkling clean. Best veterinarian experience in the AV thus far, and we can been living here for 20 years and have 5 animals.

Well how do I begin.. I went in today for low cost vaccine clinic and was treated unfairly. Dr. McEwan is very knowledgeable about bird health. Before starting any procedures, he told me he would like to give me an estimate what it would cost so that I can make a decision. Also when I called back after the visit to discuss the treatment and medication, Dr. McEwan personally talked to me on a phone. Usually vet assistants do all the talking after the doctor is done with the visit.
Overall I had good experience at Palmdale Veterinary Hospital, and I would recommend this place to other pet owners.

Dr. McEwan and his staff are amazing. They are very knowledgeable, and extremely nice. They see a variety of animals, and always have appointments available within 1-2 days when needed; sometimes, the same day. Dr. McEwan is an Avian specialist, and a good one. Like I said, he sees and knows all types of pets, and is one of the best Vets around.

First time today bringing my animals here. I brought my rabbit who was in bad shape with some type of eye infection, and other issues. We were really stressed out about it because we didn't quite know what was wrong. The woman at the front desk was extremely nice and welcoming. The vet tech working with us was so comforting and helpful and so gentle with my bunny. Dr. McEwan was incredible. He swabbed my rabbit's eye right there and went and tested it to give us an answer within 15 minutes. All in all, the staff is great and it was a great price. We went home with great instructions on the medications. And speaking of medications, we got five, and it was all under $150, including the visit. Affordable and amazing! And to top it off, the waiting room, and individual room was sparkling clean. Best veterinarian experience in the AV thus far, and we can been living here for 20 years and have 5 animals.
