I love this place. They have some new doctors that are really amazing. I was lucky enough to get Dr. Joseph. More about him in a minute , first I have to talk about the other staff. Jessica was my nurse. She has to be the most happiest, friendliest caring person ever. She talked to my dog so sweet and was so loving. I will always request Jessica for my nurse. I also got to meet Andrew. He is smart and calm and kind, he really made me feel like my dog was in good hands. Dr. Joseph, that man is wonderful. He did a full exam on my dog, touching him everywhere, looking in his ears and mouth, listening to his heart, he even got down on the floor and sat with him while we talked. He never rushed me and it was very busy that day. He assured me that my dog, my baby would be fine and was just gonna do a small blood panel and if everything looked good medication to go home. My dog loved him and my dog does not like most men in general. The place was clean and smelt good. The receptionist who checked me out was Danielle. She is a huge asset to that hospital as she was so sweet and nice. So warm and gave my dog kisses and even asked to put him on their facebook page. You can tell she really loves her job and loves the animals. The only thing that is a bummer (and it's not Pets R Us's fault) is the parking. It is terrible if you come at noon. I will be scheduling my appointments after the lunch rush. I have been to 2 other vets in the AV and was not impressed at all. Pets R Us is my new vet and I will not be going anywhere else. Every bad review on here is most likely true. They sent home cats with ringworm when it was easily identified once I determined what it was by GOING TO GOOGLE; I am not even a qualified vet. But I was able to determine what it was once It was on me and my other 6 cats and my 2 dogs. My wife isn't happy either. This stuff will be around for 18 months now. THANKS PETS R US! Plus they didn't care for refunding me when I explained my story in a nice way, currently on hold with my bank so you can deal with them and explain how services were not rendered the right way. I brought in cats to be examined and you let a fungal spread all over my nice clean home. Im never going here just because you didn't care about how now I need to give all my cats a bath twice a week until its gone. THANKS ONCE AGAIN PETS R US! I love spending more money I do not have and then getting messed up by all my cats when I bath them. Be rest assured if your name is ever brought up, this story will be there to be told. If I could give ZERO stars I would. I had my dog here twice in two weeks and was never told she needed shots before her mass removal. I even called to make sure my appointment was set and everything was good to go. I arrive to have the procedure done, and they said she needed vaccines before the procedure and I explained I was not comfortable with her having all those medications in one day. The manager stated that if we do the procedure and not the shots same day, we won’t come back for the shots. Since money seemed like what she cared about, I offered to Mayra and the girl upfront I’ll pay for the shots upfront today and bring her back in a couple days for the shots. The manager and senior vet tech Mayra did nothing to alleviate my concerns and even argued with me stating that if my dog gets rabies or parvo from surgery, I could blame them. So my dog who’s been full vaccinated and is going to catch rabies or parvo.? She then said if she bites another dog or another dog bites her in their care, she can get sick. Why would my dog be around another dog, especially if she’s expecting to have surgery.?! The ladies upfront are nice, which is why they’re up there. But the woman in the back are terrible, rude and don’t make you feel comfortable and like you can trust them with your dogs care. I went to them for everything and have given them around $2000 for the care of my dog over the past year and a half. Long story short, this place is poorly managed and only cares about how deep your pockets are. I wouldn’t trust them with the care of your pet and you shouldn’t either. Putting TWO vaccines, pain injection and anesthesia in a 15 pound dog in ONE day is INHUMANE and asking for trouble. This place is extremely unprofessional and they could of told me the two times I was in there over the past couple weeks or over the phone when I confirmed the surgery two days prior that she needed her annual vaccines, not the day she’s going into surgery. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO PETS R US, ESPECIALLY PALMDALE!!!! unfortunately i cant rate a negative 5, They are Incompetent/Thieves, took our Bulldog for emergency care, Dr. Stated he needed to be seen by cardiovascular. Dr. Did not show any significant importance of that statement. After they supposedly stabilized him and prescribed me months of medication. And after running my bill to almost 1200.00 dollars, after we picked up our dog from vet, our dog died 4 hours later!!! Dr. Never stated your dog is extremely sick and no matter what we do he might not make it tonight, or might make it another 3 years. Manager does not return my call to follow up on my concern, even their corporate office does not have the common courtesy to email me or call me va,k to say we are looking into this issue. I took my dog in for an emergency and was told they suggest he be hospitalized and given fluids. I explained I can not afford that what other options do I have? They sent him home with medicine and a shot of b12, they did not offer me any other options for giving him fluids. I called and explained my pet is not eating and drinking water and if I can pick up fluids to give him. I had to wait 3 day. For a $25 bag of fluids they charge $65. 🤦‍♂️ Read Less

Brought my dog in to have teeth extracted. Staff was very friendly and did an exceptional job! My only complaint would be they wanted to keep my dog overnight and advised me he would not be supervised due to them not being staffed 24hours. I was not ok w that. The good reviews floor me. My experience here was anything but positive. I booked a wellness checkup for my kitten because she seemed too small to be away from her mom when we adopted her and she wasn't eating much. We waited for an hour- mind you WITH an appointment. I don't have that kind of time. We saw Dr Cyorg and he was completely without bedside manner, was downright rude and condescending. He held my kitty for 5 seconds, put her on the table and said to feed her canned food only. I agreed since she was too small to go on dry food yet and he insisted I never give her dry food. Really dude? Cause I've been a kitty mama since getting my 1st one at 9 years old and have owned nothing but cats since. They've all been healthy. I inquired if she looked ok and seemed healthy? He grunted. Who does that? He wouldn't tell me anything about her! Yes the cost was good. I paid $19 to be grunted at and told to feed her canned food. I decided I would never come here again. I took my dog to a pet ER in Lancaster (Not to be named); they charged $55 for an exam which turned out to be the doctor touching the dog's belly for 2 seconds and then saying "she needs an x-ray and it'll cost $321". Talk about caring only for the $$$...I immediately left and went to Pets R Us. Not only did they get us in within 20 minutes, Dr. Valerie Talleyrand took the time to really examine my dog and care for her. They are very reasonably priced and really took into consideration my finances. I would trust Dr. Talleyrand and the friendly staff with any of my pets in the future. Read Less

We've had to wait even though we had an appointment, but we understand that those times they had a lot of walk-ins and emergency situations. However, they always apologize for the wait. I called same day and was able to get an appointment for 5:30 PM. We showed up on time and it did not seem very busy so we signed in and sat down. About 20 minutes went by before getting called up to sign the paperwork for first time customers. We finally got called to the back at 6:30 only to have to wait even more. Finally the vet comes in and observes our dog for a total of 5 minutes. At this point, she still didn't know what was wrong with her and wanted us to pay for different tests to find out. We chose to just take the antibiotics they recommended and waited to get the medicine. Once we received the medicine we had to go to the front to pay. The receptionist was nowhere to be found. She finally comes out and I asked her if it was normal for a vet visit to take that long even with an appointment. She was very dismissive and not apologetic whatsoever. We finally were on our way home at 8 PM. Having to wait for 2.5+ hours, with an appointment, and poor customer service are the reasons we will not be going back.Read Less

I was very happy with my visit. The waiting area was large enough for many people and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I only waited a few minutes and I was let into the exam room by the nurse. After she left, I only waited a few more minutes for the vet. He was very personal and didn't push any unnecessary treatments. After I got the meds for my dog and paying, I was only there for about 40 minutes total. I am only giving 3 because My baby Bear is still currently at Pets R Us for a slight case of parvo. he is doing well so far and the staff have helped a lot. During the exam I know they were busy but a little more time with the patients would have made it better... I do like that I have received a text update on Bear and when I've called they tell me everything that's going on and how he is doing... the prices are fair and not over the top which is a plus... again I'm only getting 3 stars because my Bear is still there I will be changing this depending on his outcome. It's ok. Used them several times as I do Rescue and they are the best price. Here is my issues. Paid for 4 exams, doctor never touched the cats, they took them to the back and then put the wrong cats in the wrong carriers, got 3 rabies vaccination and only one certificate now I have to drive 45 minutes back to get the others, didn't want to do any testing to see what the problem was just wanted to give medications and hope it works. This is for a cat they gave shampoo that says not to use on the head when the area they are treating is on the head and ear. Was in before paid for exam they never even took the cat out of the carrier. Why did I even bother stressing the cat out and bringing them in? Took a dog in to be fixed on pick up they recommended I put her on Prozac, seriously shes she's a 5 month old pup of course she is hyper! Plus they gave me problems trying to schedule 4 appointments at once, they wanted to set 2 then 2 on another day. I'll make the drive to la from now on.Read Less

Our family has 10+ furbabies that have been loyal to a different clinic over the past decade but as of this past weekend, we are incredibly grateful to Pets R Us and considering switching over for good.. More convenient location, clean, friendly staff, less wait time, better hours of operation, and even better prices. Prices are affordable not like most cat hospitals that send you to bankruptcy, and you can trust them to take good care of your furbabies and know when you leave with your baby that have been treated the very best way possible. I had a horrible experience when I took my one year old pup. She came in really sick, diarrhea and vomiting and they recommended that she stay, due to her condition being so severe. The price for her overnight stay and treatment was extremely high, and not affordable but I wanted my pup to get better. She stayed for the "recommended" three day stay and when I picked her up she was in a horrible state. She was very thin, and her vagina was extremely swollen, red, and irritated. My poor pup couldn't even sit from the pain and her vagina being so swollen and like an infection had developed. She was also still vomiting and all the vet suggested was that they needed to run for tests and X-rays, which meant more money from my pocket. He also told me that the pup must of come in with a swollen vagina because it didn't happen while in their care, or that she was probably in heat. I did not get anything else from them, took my pup home and nursed her back to health. If you care about your pets, don't take them here, it's all about the money for them. Read Less

Our new baby boy Zeke came in for a checkup after adoption. He had a small cherry eye I was concerned about but some drops are all he needs for now. However, thank goodness for the exam because they found many foxtails in his ears from before he became a shelter dog. The new Palmdale shelter did a great job with his care but going to Pets R Us Veterinary Hospital is the place to go to keep you new baby happy and healthy. Love them Read Less

My dog is a special service dog and she needed a full mouth extraction yesterday. They were very reassuring and the surgery went well. My dog does not seem to be in any extraordinary type of pain. She is doing as well as can be today. She seems like she will heal just fine thanks to the people at Pets R Us. I am most definitely going to be taking all my animals in the near future for all their vet needs to them. I take all my dogs here and since they are all rescues, I'm here more then the average. The prices are fair, no hidden costs and they always go every bit of where your money is going to, so, you can do what u can afford. I saw Doctor Mike and he was not saying he felt he needed to asperste a lump on my 11 year Shepard. He said it felt like a fatty lump, and he didn't want to aggravate it. My baby girl is very I'll and we were referred here to pets R Us by another vet* as she needed surgery and the other vet couldn't do it until Wednesday.... Took my dog here to have his teeth cleaned since I saw that they were having a special (& they were pretty raunchy!). The staff was very nice when I was both booking the appointment and when I took him in. The nurse was very helpful and explained all the charges AHEAD of time, awesome, and was patient with me when I was deciding if they should pull certain teeth. They quoted me a pickup time of around 6pm or 7pm but he was done at 3pm. Overall great experience and happy that we have a new veterinarian in town.Read Less

I took my cat in for an eye issue that she has had since before I adopted her. From the first appointment made to the exam and final results, everyone at Pets R Us has been absolutely wonderful. The doctors and assistants are informative and thorough. My cat is scared of most things but everyone took their time with her. They explained to us how she has a respiratory infection and showed us how to apply her medicine. This was my second experience with Pets R Us but it's safe to say I will be taking Gaia and our other 2 cats here for a very long time.Read Less

They r ok but had an emergency and their vet was highly unprofessional, nasty, discourteous, and had us monitoring our own cat on the er table and complained about wanting to leave at 6pm. But they did ok but sent us out of there with the pet in emergency condition, almost unable to breathe. God awful experience.
