Vca Foothill Veterinary Hospital

Pasadena, California
General Info
VCA Foothill Veterinary Hospital in Pasadena structures its daily operations based on animal movement patterns to provide dependable veterinary services throughout California. The clinic examines entry posture sound sensitivity pacing patterns and focal behavior with meticulous attention. Examiners perform medical checks on animals by aligning their procedures with the animal's response patterns: they inspect ears and teeth during curious phases and conduct abdominal or joint assessments during calm periods. Pet owners receive inquiries regarding minute behavioral changes such as their pets' resting spots within the house mealtime approaches and the duration pets spend near doors or soft surfaces. VCA Foothill Veterinary Hospital provides diagnostic services age-adjusted physical examinations preventative screenings gastrointestinal stabilization endocrine treatments and surgical preparation along with post-operative reflection routines. Appointments may be full-service or phased across two shorter visits depending on pet temperament or caregiver schedule. Medical staff focus on behavioral readiness instead of checklists to prioritize tasks while adapting to pets’ pacing and touch thresholds. Families get briefings according to their pet’s daily patterns which show time-bound symptoms and post-stimulation behaviors while learning how to detect rebalancing. Text check-ins pacing charts and flexible timelines ensure follow-up remains connected to the pet's feelings rather than clinical benchmarks. VCA Foothill Veterinary Hospital delivers animal healthcare to Pasadena families as well as those across California by aligning its services with pets' natural living patterns and daily routines.

This office had me pay for a visit for my incredibly sick dog who needed emergency care, even though they did absolutely nothing for him. At around 4:30 in the afternoon my dog began vomiting blood. I called the office to ask if they would be open long enough for me to able to get my dog there and have him seen, or if I should find an emergency clinic to take him to instead. They said to "definitely" bring him to them as long as I arrived before 5:30. At 5:05, I called their office again to make sure that the dog could still be seen since traffic was causing me extra delays. The said again that he would be seen if I arrived before 5:30. I arrived at the office at about 5:20. I waited until 6:00 to see a vet. at which point I was informed that it was "after hours" and they wouldn't be able to run any sort of diagnostics on my dog at all. I was then referred to an emergency clinic instead and told that I shouldn't wait until the end of the day to bring my dog in for diagnostics. (I'm sorry that I don't control the time at which he begins vomiting?) Why should I be charged for a visit where absolutely nothing was done for my dog, especially when I asked multiple times whether he should be taken directly to emergency to begin with? The emergency vet has their own bills; I didn't need this unnecessary one added. Plus, the dog was in pain/dehydrated for that much longer due to the unnecessary visit and wait. Read Less

I highly recommend this place....in particular Dr. Laura. To start, I must say I am very critical of veterinary clinics because my brother is a vet so I usually get the family discount. However, there are occasions when I don't have time to drive to NoCal to visit my brother. I took my dog into the clinic the other day. She could not walk and would not eat. They ran multiple test, x-rays, and an ultrasound. They had no problem sending the results to my brother, and even tracked me down outside to talk to my brother on the phone to discuss their observations. In the end, my dog had to be put down, but the honesty and thoughtfulness of the folks at this clinic will always be remembered. Moreover, they were very thorough, and addressed all the symptoms appropriately. I will be happy to use them again with future pets. Read Less
