I have an extremely hostile Cat, who does not like to be touched or picked up. The vet and her helpers were superb in calming her down so that they could treat her and give her her shots. recently i took my cat here for treatment of digestive problems, changing to this vet because we had recently moved to petaluma.  they did tests etc costing me $500 plus, put him on a very expensive vet only cat food, and told me the same (over the counter food) would not be ok to feed him.  they also began a daily medication treatment. the tests came back negative for everything except dehydration.  i already knew that as he had been very sick over a week-end.for the past few weeks i have been emailing them about his recovery with no response. now they want to see him for more tests and told me if i didn't bring him in they would not refill his medications (also $).  do not threaten to take away his meds cat hospital.  do not treat your clients or patients this way. just not ok. in  looking for other vet recommendations, i posted this on facebook and so far 2 of the 3 responses told similar stories about this clinic! My cat was a patient here for the 4 years my wife and I lived in Petaluma. During that time they caught a thyroid disorder which is being treated successfully with medication. They always provided outstanding service at very reasonable prices. I strongly recommend them. Read Less

These people are dedicated to cats and it shows in their knowledge and care of them. I had never been to a cats only vet before and WOW! What a difference! The waiting room has no dogs to freak out my already nervous kitty and once in the examination room, the Dr and her techs know just how to treat your cat. Even my Leo who is a very shy boy and usually hisses at everybody but us, he is able to stay calm. In other words, they have great "cat sence".Leo has had kidney stones that required surgery and these folks saved his life! Forever thankful for this special vet clinic! Read Less

Whoa! Have you ever SEEN so many Five  reviews?Im not a cat person,  thats what I like to say - except now i have 3. All of them came in as ferals with this problem or that problem and these guys have rescued us more than once.I love the girls, I love the Docs and I love the location - easy in easy out.  They always make me feel at ease and are really knowledgable about my kitty kids.I will most likely never go anywhere else with my babies. We found this vet when our cat was diagnosed with cancer and wanted to find a vet that really cared. The entire staff at Cat Hospital of Petaluma is sensitive, caring and very sincere. Even going through such a hard time we found relief knowing that we were going to the best place and treated with such compassion. The were kind to us and our cat from beginning to sadly, the end. I would recommend this Vet to anyone in the north bay. It's worth the drive. They are cat lovers and blew our family away with their care and concern, even after our cat died. Read Less

Laurie meets you with a friendly smile and FANTASTIC knowledge at the front desk....Dr. Hertzel is caring, kind, and FANTASTIC with our complex feline health issues (awful ringworm infestion in 12 week kittens, urinary behavioral problems with our overly-anxious cat...). The Cat Hospital Nurses are knowledgeable, EXTREMELY friendly...We've seen Dr.Mills-Martinez for well-checks for our cats and she is equally fantastic! This vetrinarian is the BEST!!!! They are a cat-only clinic which is nice for the animals as there are fewer threatening smells. My cat is neurotic and they treat him like the only neurotic cat on earth...they are tender and caring and put his needs above all else! What a wonderful, caring and helpful group of people. The doctors are knowledgeable and experienced in their field. They listen to you and answer your questions. Best of all, they care about your cat. The entire staff is friendly and caring. They'll accommodate you in an emergency, and they'll even do housecalls. I started taking my cats there when I lived around the corner six years ago. I now live two miles away and still go there.
