i have been going here for 9 years, the staff if very kind and understanding with all my animals, and I have lots. The doctors are the best, they take their time and explain in detail. I have been to the other vets in town when I have not been able to get an appointment here, and I have to say the other vets are not as friendly, or detailed as Family Pet Clinic of Phelan. The only thing I wish that they and all the other vets in town have is a low cost spay and neuter. The amount of animals here, running around, lost, or dumped is horrible, and I believe if we here in Phelan had a free or low cost spay and neuter would help owners, and the amount of unwanted animals. I see TV shows, Dr Rocky Mountain Vet in Colorado and he goes to other places, such as Mexico and has a 3 day free spay, neuter, and what ever else these animals need. Why can't we have this here in Phelan? The cost for spay and neuter is a bit high here in Phelan, and I do believe that Family Pet Clinic of Phelan would benefit, and us too so much by having this maybe a couple times a year to help with the unwanted animal population. I would be more that willing to organize this event, please Doctors of Family Pet Clinic of Phelan lets do this! Read Less

WONDERFUL, ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PET CLINIC IN THE WEST ! Heart, is absolutely one of the requirements for pet care AND they have the biggest, best and most heart around.  They care for our pets with love, compassion and big hearts.  Since moving up to Victorville i searched for a vet care facility for my 3 dogs.  I will guess that i have been to at least 9 clinics before finding Family Pet Clinic. This is like seeing a chocolate cake within reach..  THey have done cancer surgery, dental, and many other services for my 3 pets over the years and very successfully kept my dogs healthy and pain free.  From the office staff to the vets they have all been the nicest group for my 3 plus myself.  , Read Less

Dr. Burch is seriously so amazing and incredible! He takes his time with each patient and makes them feel lived and important, I wasnt able to make it to the vet appointment but during the exam he called me to explain it to me and explained it to my sister who was there. Very caring and kind, really has a passion for taking care of your pets. Have been to 3 other vets in the area and none can top him. He is so wonderful and such a blessing! Have (should now say, had) been taking my dog there for years - first, for a while, they didn't send out the notices for my pet's shots until AFTER the fact; recently, my dog lost a great amount of weight, and after tests, xrays and ultrasound, it turns out he has what is basically an inoperable cancer. For several months, to supposedly treat the symptoms, I was instructed by the Clinic to buy liver supplements that are not even covered by my per insurance. Many tests were done, which did nothing to help treat my pet's illness - all it did was put money into the Clinic's pockets. When i brought my dog in last week for the ultrasound, they even charged me $50. just to put him in a room! I have spent a couple of thousand dollars there, and now, today, I have to put my dog down. Not that i don't like Dr. Navi or Dr. Birch - I do like them - but in reality, Dr. Navi should have emphasized for me to have the ultrasound much sooner than he did. I will never go back there again. P.S. They even wanted to charge me 50.00 to be present in the room when they put my dog down! In closing, I do not recommend Family Pet Clinic of Phelan to anyone. Go to Desert Mountain Veterinary on Route 138 in Pinon Hills instead. Nicer people and way better prices.Read Less

To say this is a GREAT clinic wouldn't do it justice. It's just plain """"WONDERFUL"""". There isn't a clinic in the entire area that matches up to the caring of the staff for each and every one of its clients. I personally just love Dr. BRUCE, who is known for his colorful Hawaiian shirts , but all of the vets are terrific so you won't be disappointed. And none of my 3 dogs "cringe" when they get there, which they do at any of the many clinics I have taken them to. I live in Victorville and gladly make the trip to see them. I have been very happy with surgeries, shots, etc., done there. I like them and of course the most important thing is that my dogs seem to love them. Read Less

I brought my dog Angel in to be put to sleep. She lived 14 happy years.. it was the hardest thing myself and my family had to go through. This was our first time here and the staff are just incredible. They were very nice, caring and there for us. We had her cremated and waited about a week. Today, I picked her up and I can't even explain how happy I am. I didn't expect the beautiful box with her name engraved and they gave us an in print of her paw. I absolutely could not recommend this place more!! My 12 year old Pomeranian, Simba, fell ill last week. Took her in to be seen on a Saturday. They were suppose to close at 4, and they stayed until about 5:30 for us! Got sent home with antibiotics to get stable for uterus removal surgery (her diagnosis was Pyometra). Unfortunately, a few days before surgery, my Simba could not fight the infection any longer - and made her way to doggy heaven. I called to inform them, and let them know that we won't be coming for surgery. Hours later, I got a personal call from the vet herself, sending her love. I took Simba back here for cremation. The staff were nothing but sympathetic & sweet during this whole thing. I will be coming here for ALL of my future veterinarian needs. Cudos to the staff at Family Pet Clinic of Phelan!Read Less

This clinic was sold by its former owner, Bruce Burch- now "he just works here" , according to ifront office staff. Every past experience with him was exemplary; now the support staff is abrupt and rude, and I find the level of care provided to be substandard. See my full evaluation posted Dec. 2014 on Yelp. Family Pet Clinic is a great place to take your pets. We have had to take 2 of our dogs recently, very last minute, and they have been extremely accomodating. They are gentle and calm with even the most frightened animals, and had great "bedside manner" with me as the pet owner. They are extremely affordable. The Clinic is clean and quiet; and now open on Saturdays, a huge plus for me since I work all week. I would highly recommend Family Pet Clinic of Phelan to anyone. Read Less

I have been going to FPC of Phelan for 5 yrs. The two lady vets are no longer there and that is a shame. Dr. Rosanaur and Dr. Vanesian both are much much more professional and caring vets than Dr. Burch. Both women explain things clearly and concisely and get right on the ball with treating your pet. They call you back with lab results and daily updates on your pet if it is hospitilized. Dr. B doesn't give you a clear idea of what his plans are for your pet, you can't get a sense of what he's going to do or when he's going to start it on your pet. He never calls you back or gives you any feedback. You have to chase him down on the phone. He has a wonderful bedisde manner and is nice but I'm there for MEDICAL care not to make a new buddy! The women vets were just a lot more forthright, professional, thorough and consistent with their level of concern and care. I'm sorry they are both gone. I'll be moving on to. Read Less

A stray cat that I've known since birth showed up one night looking like a coyote got her by the throat. I wasn't sure what to do. My heart dropped to my stomach. I knew that I needed to get help, medicine, or call a rescue person. My neighbor and I concurred that we needed to call someone. A good friend helped me contact Dr. Burch.Even through his dinner he guided me to a pharmacy for an anti-biotic for "Cat." After 10 days of TLC she is back to being a "calmer" feral cat. I have been coming to Family Pet Clinic Of Phelan for years and I have had wonderful experiences with Dr. Burch, but unfortunatley my latest experience was with Dr. V. She was abrupt, rude, treated me like I was stupid, and was only in the exam room with me for 2 minutes it seemed like. Her and Dr. Burch are like night and day. So in the future if I continue to come back I will only be going to see Dr. Burch. He is compassionate, very thurough, and you can tell he loves what he does, loves animals. My advice for the other doctor is that if being a vet isn't really what you wanted to do you should quit! Read Less

After 16 years we had to put our dog to sleep. The staff was considerate and the Doctor was caring, he sat down on the floor with us while we said our good byes, he then administered the drugs and it was a good death. This was a first time visit and we will use this clinic again for our other vet needs. Read Less
