We always see Dr. Lin. Excellent vet. Very knowledgeable. Also a kind and compassionate person. Dana holds the office together. Even though she is juggling several things at once she always has time to go the extra mile for you and if she doesn't know the answer to your question, (which is rare), she will find out immediately. All vet techs in the office are kind, very skilled and you can tell they have a genuine love of animals. Read Less

I appreciate Dr Elliott so much for his compassion and kindness. And also, thank you to Jen, the vet tech, who was there for both of our office visits. I left there knowing JJ was in great hands. My cat needed his annual checkup, shots and had two teeth removed... the vet and staff were very friendly! They sedated him for surgery and during that time also clipped his nails. When I picked my cat up a few hours later, he was so scared and had his face and body as close to the corner it looked like he was trying to shield himself (he also has seperation anxiety and hates going to the vet) but I have never seen him *this* scared... he was right next to an extremely loud barking dog and being an indoor cat that was rescued at 4 weeks and who has never been around a dog except for an old mini piddled that belongs to my neighbor, from one balcony to another about 6 ft in between...and so I really think they should separate the cats and dogs. I imagine most cats are afraid of barking dogs and when they're in recovery that's the last thing that they need to be surrounded by. Other than that, I think the staff is very helpful and great with my kitty... I just wish they had some way to separate the cats and dogs... Read Less

I brought my 14 year old Maine Coon in this week after he showed signs of being in great pain in his neck and shoulder area and limping on both his front paws and he had some other symptoms. The first person I spoke with was Dana and she was extremely nice and was able to get my cat in the same day. When I came in for his appointment, Dana greeted me and handed me the new patient paperwork while multitasking like crazy. She multitasks wonderfully! I've seen many many other people get frazzled while handling a lot less and she never skipped a beat. Amazing receptionist! Brittany was the tech who called us back to the exam room. She was great handling my cat; he's a very friendly cat but it was nice that she handled him with kid gloves since he was in pain. Dr. Lin then came in. I have never met a nicer person. She was very thorough and took such good care of my baby. They did X-rays and a senior panel on him and called the next day with his results. The results weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be, thank God. Dr. Lin explained the results very well and was able to get my cat in the very next day to show me how to administer his medications. She was great in showing me how to administer his injections and his antibiotics.I couldn't be happier with the staff and how well they took care of my baby. I have found my new vet for my fur babies. Thank you so much for the great service and for taking care of my big boy! Read Less

Professional, yes. This was my experience: I called on Valentine's Day, because I had noticed a boney lump under my senior cat's chin. I've never had a pet until this cat, she was going on 16 years old, and had always been in excellent health. So I brought her in immediately for an exam. "Oh, you've never brushed your cats teeth!" Uh, no. It's a cat, and I'm not that pet owner that lavishes all manner of expensive procedures on an animal. Not that I don't love her, but she's always been healthy..... Anyway, they soaked me immediately for blood work for several hundred dollars to find out if she could withstand anesthesia so a couple teeth could be pulled. I've never done this, and was caught up in emotion and just wanting to do the right thing by her. I just wrote the check, and hoped for the best. Shame on me, and lesson learned, the hard way. Because they could have just sedated her to check her teeth and jaw to see if it was necessary to put everyone through such stress and trauma. Naturally, when the blood work came back fine, she was immediately scheduled for surgery. After just a couple hours, I got the message from the vet that her jaw wouldn't be able to withstand any teeth getting pulled. That it was cancer, and her jaw was moth-eaten. "Putting her down" would be the most humane thing. I had to take out a line of credit to take care of my sweet girl, who didn't survive the week. Now I'm paying for a dead animal for 6 months. In retrospect, and with all due respect, I feel they could have just sedated her, and checked her teeth, jaw and gums for disease. And I hear those blood panels are a fraction of what they charge customers. I learned the hard way, but I feel like doctors across the board will try to soak patients for as much as they can get away with, taking advantage of the emotions and vulnerability of owners and parents. I will not be returning to this establishment.Read Less

I'm not an animal person, nor do I pretend to be. I don't like touching other people's pets or pretending I think somebody else's golden retriever is cute so I was already set up to hate this place. It smells like dog urine just like any other vets office. Polar opposite of my happy place. That being said I had a great experience bringing my cat here to have her initial exam and treatment. The receptionist was nice, the vet technician was nice, and the doctor was nice. They all want out of their way to tell everybody that their mangy, poorly behaved pet was "adorable" and "sweet". The doctor was thorough and my cat left 100x happier than when I brought her. She's not easy to work with so props to the team for being able to work on her. My cat got the treatment and medication she needed the same day and is on the road to recovery! The pricing:Every negative review on this page pertains to pricing and complaints about not receiving free treatment. What?! Why would you be seen for free...what kind of ludicrous business model do you think these people use? Medication cost money, employees' wages cost money, equipment cost money, that vet's education costs money! You wouldn't go to the dentist thinking you'd get your cleaning for free, or your doctor thinking your colonoscopy would be on the house. These people have to stick thermometers in your pet's butt...they deserve every cent they ask for. My advice: If you want a free vet then save THEM the trouble of having to see you, or hear you complain, and go somewhere else.I would 100% recommend Pinole Pet Hospital to a friend. THANKS GUYS! I love the staff!! My baby King George had been going there for 15 years. Dr Lin and the others took great care of him right up to the end. A week ago Wed, we had to put my fur baby down. It was THE hardest decision ever! The staff was phenomenal. They all came to say their goodbyes to my baby and give me a hug. Some had tears in their eyes because they truly were sad. Today I received a sympathy card from them. There wasn't stamped signature. It was actually signed by all 3 doctors and several staff that had helped at one time or another with Georgie boy. They almost killed my cat... twice. (They first time I figured everyone makes mistakes... the second time.... ) I asked them to inactivate me multiple times but they continued to send me reminder cards for my cat which stings.... (btw... fixing their mistakes at several other hospitals cost me THOUSANDS). My grandmother used them for years.... I inherited her dog when she passed recently and I took her to another vet who had a lot of questions about her records... she asked if she could retest... turns out they misdiagnosed the dog because of an obvious LAB ERROR, told more poor grandmother that the little dog she lived for was probably going to die soon and had her spending a ton of money on medications every month for 2 years that the dog never needed.... this place is disgusting. They also won't call in a medication to an outside pharmacy OR approve from an outside pharmacy. They force you to pick up a physical RX and take it in.... even for pt on long term meds..eds that can be purchased at a human phaacy for 1/4 of the cost. (I dont even blame them for cost of meds... i get it... they cant buy in bulk like large pharmacies... but they dont need to make it hard to pick up meds other places). Also that Gwen receptionist is the rudest woman I have ever spoken to and knows nothing. Pinole Pet was sold a few years ago and bought out by these awful money suckers and crashed. This pet hospital is wonderful. It is really hard to find a place that specializes in bunnies. Bit when I googled in they popped up. So like everyone else I yelped them. There were mixed reviews, but I needed a vet right away. Our female bunny was showing male traits. I called on monday, they got me in Wednesday for our two bunnies. It turns out that Taylor is actually a boy. Suzziee was a girl, thank god cyz she alreadyknows her name. Our concern was that we didn't want babies bunnies. This hospital was so helpful, they were able to get Taylor in the very NEXT day.. That was so amazing. They were so good to him. The tech, jen, even took some cute pics of him when he was waking up. I can't even express the gratitude I have for everyone at this place, especially Dr. Elliott. I have a Great Dane and he treats him as if he were his own pet. He even let Maximus drag him all over the front parking lot. He is a wonderful vet and a even more wonderful human being! Everyone there is just so nice and so helpful. No matter if they are about to close or if you call on the same day you want to come in they never say no. I have the up most trust with them and my pet. I would tell anyone to go there.

If you love your pets, you will avoid this place at all cost.Read Less

I WOULD 150% recommend this place to take ur loved ones. Even though I live in vallejo and it is alittle drive. It is well worth it!!!
