I've been going here for over 20 years and when I read some of the bad reviews, I dont think these people who wrote them have a clue.This Vet would never yell or hit a pet. He also would not be rude to a pet owner unless the pet owner is a total asshole and then I say "go for it Dr. Bob"! This city is so lucky to have a veterinarian as smart and caring as Dr. Bob Hallstrom. You won't find a better Vet anywhere.But if you walk in and become an asshole, don't expect anyone to kiss your ass and that's another reason I like him.  He's a man of strong principles and deserves respect. I visited the clinic today with my daughter and son.  We took our dog in to be checked after thinking she could be pregnant. After a couple minutes into the appt the veterinary lost all patience with our dog. He began to yell and shout mistreating our dog which resulted in my daughter becoming even more frightened than the dog itself. The Dr responded by turning to my 9 year old daughter and said " I'm sure we wouldn't be in this situation if your mother had done what I'm doing with her" referring to the fact that she had a mussel placed on our dog. The service at this clinic was horrendous and the fact that this so called doctor is able to practice his profession on innocent animals is not only absurd but down right terrifying. Read Less

I love this vet.  They were so kind when we had to put down our extremely anxious dog who had become aggressive.  Dr H gave us many options and in the end agreed with our decision.  I continue to take me senior dog here for care.  My most recent experience, my dog couldn't open his mouth.  Told us with rest it would get better.  After a few days I got concerned, looked at the reviews and thought maybe he was wrong.  A second opinion vet quoted me a 3500 fix.  So I stayed at home, followed Dr. H advice, spoon fed my dog and he got better.  The Dr takes no crap from dogs or owners, I like that about him.  I own pit bulls, so I've seen many vets muzzle my dogs before but never this one.  He is respectful and loving to my animals, I will bring all my future animals to Dr H! Love them. Dr. Holstrom doesn't want to take your money, he wants to take care of your pet.  He will willingly give you a home remedy before over charging you for more than your pet needs.  He was great with my foster German Shepherd.  I recognized that my foster was uncomfortable and I said "I'll muzzle him" to which Holstrom politely said was good.  He was confident and calm in handling my foster, so much so that my foster went submissive and showed Holstrom his belly after Holstrom treated him right during a check over.  The foster just needed to trust, and Holstrom's polite, calm, and appropriate mannerisms gained his trust.  This vet is beyond good, he's great! Today I took my  dog to be seen for the second time for the same issue's. Which is anal infection .the doctor  proceeded to look at her butt.and she growled  and nipped at him.he got so pissed and hit her and started yelling ATHER that he was tired of her growling  and nipping at him every time she came in.which is a surprise to me .so I'm trying to calm her down .and Finley  I said I'm not bring her back here  He tells me ,IF THE OWNER COMFORTS HER DOG  AFTER THAT .WE SHOULD  NOT COME BACK.  he took the muzzle off and we left.I even went back inside to pay.but there was no charge...So needless  to say we're  NEVER going back. This is a great place.  Went in for my 1st time with my dog what had a fox tail in his eye.  I felt like I was in a good friends home.  The Dr. and his wife were so nice and friendly.  It was quick and easy and the price was tottally fair.  Awesome place! Read Less

This place doesn't deserve a star at all. Doctor Bob was very rude and very unprofessional. Just because my dog was hesitant and a little defensive at first he got mad easily and told me and my daughters to take my dog home. He Was even rude to my 5 year old daughter when she asked him what's wrong. He answered her in a rude matter! To a 5 year old. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all! Read Less

Great Price, Great Vet, Short waits, Easy to Schedule!Also has incredible 'bed side manner' -- my dog doesn't like many people but never gets upset at the vet. My little guy thinks he is bigger than he is, got bit, and they said 'come in now'! And saw me with a short wait. Awesome! If you're looking for a vet, look no further. Delta Animal Clinic is truly an amazing vet! After experiencing several other animal clinics, some horrendous and some have been good. This was my first trip to Delta and I have got to say I was blown away! I called around to other vets as my dog had made a bad choice and ate a kids toy, none of the vets could make time for my dog Hank. Delta Animal Clinic was able to see him almost immediately(30 after I called). Dr. Hallstrom took the time and talked with us about what we needed to do to help Hank. All of my questions and concerns were addressed thoroughly and immediately. He fixed him up and had him ready to go later in the day for a price that was well under what I expected for the service that I received. I love Dr. Hallstrom, his wife and all of the staff there at Delta Animal Clinic. Dr. Hallstrom has been the family vet for three generations now! I trust him implicitly, he's honest, and not in a rude way- matter of fact and straight forward. We have taken our Shepherd to Bob over the last couple years, he is without a doubt just an awesome vet overall. Our shepherd had some bad previous experiences with other vets, and it got to the point that he would throw on the breaks before we would reach the door of any vet office. When we go to Bob's he willingly walks right on in, and does meet and greet. They definitely have a way with animals, and I would give anyone my recommendation!! Read Less

Dr. Robert Hallstrom- This guy is good- REALLY good. He came highly recommended and I have been using his services for just under a decade. He is a great general vet and his prices are very affordable compared to the rest of the market. (But the Low Cost Spay-Neuter clinics and vaccination clinics are lower still.) For orthopaedic surgery (hip replacements, OFA Certification, etc.), I like Dr. Fitzpatrick in Modesto. He teaches at UC Davis school of Veterinary Medicine. I'll post more details later.Read Less
