Sierra Animal Hospital

Placerville, California
General Info
Sierra Animal Hospital is an integral part of Placerville’s pet-loving families’ lives because it supports them in identifying behavioral cues, responding to seasonal threats, and managing daily logistics with the pets around their Californian homes. Pet owners frequently visit clinics when their pets exhibit initial warning signs such as excessive scratching, reduced playfulness, food rejection, joint stiffness, and in-household inter-pet tension. A comprehensive examination includes weight monitoring, dental assessments, joint mobility checks, respiratory clarity evaluation, heart rhythm analysis, skin and coat inspections, and behavior discussions. Veterinarians analyze the data obtained from the cat to assess if there is a need to adjust the diagnostic, diet, and follow-up appointment schedules. Sierra Animal Hospital examines and tests animals by use of vaccines, stool and blood testing, nutritional support, oral health services, chronic disease management and seasonal care adjustment. Appointments can arise due to shifts in weather, new routines, daycare preparation, slowing seniors, or other recovery efforts. Each plan evolves based on the home’s architectural features and environmental stimuli to offer support that aligns with what families truly need. Owners receive detailed notes and care suggestions, with optional food, mood, and motion logs after each visit. Multiple-pet owners or handlers of senior animals may also require staggered check-in visits, home-based follow-ups and mobile adjustments for consistency. Sierra Animal Hospital empowers pet owners in Placerville and surrounding California communities to take proactive steps and consistently maintain their pets’ well-being in accordance with the everyday life challenges. The team provides a range of specialized services, including: Clients continuously applaud the practice for its emphasis on care and attention to the pets’ needs. Be it a routine check-up or a complex surgery, your pet will receive the highest quality medical attention and care in a serene and supportive setting. Our Little Charlie had a swollen ear/hematoma. The doctor said, the best thing to do is to drain the ear. The doctor said, this would fix his ear and the swelling would not return. The operation was $500 and on the last check-up the sutures were removed while swelling still remained in the year- 2 days later, the ear was full again. When we took him back, they offered a similar ($200) procedure. I wasn’t told about the cheeper procedure prior, or informed about the chance it would immediately swell right- back- up after the stitches were removed. It was a very misleading experience!
