Dr. Liesel Petersen has been our veterinarian since 2003. We have followed her from Bishop Ranch, and now to Amador. We have quite the crew, three dogs and two cats. Her care and compassion with our animals is absolutely amazing. Nobody wants to go to the vet, least of all the pets, and she makes the experience very pleasant. Even when it's bad news. She explains our options, in language we can understand, and helps us make decisions, even when they are difficult. We will continue to use both Amador and her sister Veterinary Hospital Bishop Ranch for all of our pets needs without question!

Dr. Godfrey is by far the most excellent vet I've ever met. She is caring, listens and very knowledgeable. Her never-give-up attitude gives me reassurance, knowing she will do everything she can to solve a pet issue. I have Yorkies and they tend to have stomach issues and more. One of my Yorkies has everything under the sun going against her, but Dr. Godfrey keeps up with adjusting her meds as needed. She has also performed acupuncture on my Yorkie which has made a substantial difference in her numerous conditions. I can't recommend her more highly!

Over the years, I have worked with both Dr. Godfrey and Dr. Wolf and both are exceptionaly patient and wonderful with my pets and with me. I appreciate that both Doctors remember my dog Chucho. He's always excited to see them both, which says a lot. Dr. Godfrey gets down on the floor with him and loves him up. He's a 20 lb ball of terrier energy and he loves the attention. Their approach may be different, but both Drs. Wolf and Godfrey have made my life easier. Amador Valley Veterinary Center helps me accomplish the most important things: Loving and attentive veterinary care for my dog, financing options (through Care Credit) and the patience to work with me on a solution I can afford. These guys are the best of the best. They are affiliated with Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. They still have the local small office feel and attention, with the benefits of being connected to a larger Veterinary Center with emergency hours and state of the art technology. Can't say enough how thrilled I am to have both Drs. Wolf and Godfrey in the same building. They are AMAZING!

My 10 yr old female cat, "Inara", had what I thought was an abscess near the end of her tail, perhaps from one of the other household cats grabbing her tail with their claws as she walked by - as cats often do. As it turned out, Dr. Wolf immediately determined it was a tumor. So, we are headed for surgery tomorrow morning. Oh, joy. Inara is a normally vocal cat at home. She's an indoor-only cat and hasn't been in a carrier for at least 8 years. She's also extremely skiddish. We were at Amador Vet for about an hour and she didn't stop screaming the whole time. Thanks to the staff - especially the front desk - for putting up with that. Everyone was very accomodating, friendly and concerned. I have great confidence in Dr. Wolf and the staff there. I'll post an update after surgery.

Today was the first time I took my hamster to this clinic. Upon arriving, we were greeted by very welcoming staffs. I'm glad I made the choice to come here, because Dr.Wolf was extremely experienced and responsible. He took all the time and patience explaining everything, he cared for my hamster. I have been taking my pets to Bishop Ranch Vet in San Ramon who I trust. What a pleasant surprise to find out that they are affiliated with this tucked away location in my home town. The staff are wonderful... absolutely wonderful. However, our vet who knew little about sugar gliders should have never operated on our little girl. The doctor assured us a 90% success rate on her surgery. We got her back paralyzed and dying. We paid $1000 for the death of our girl... plus another $100+ for cremation. What kills us is that the doctor didn't even realize she was paralyzed. Completely incompetent vet. And with the huge bill and broken hearts, we had to listen for weeks as her twin sister cried out for her at night.

I have been taking my two cats to Dr. Godfrey for two years now and we drive out from Concord to see her. The cats love her and her staff. My youngest had a limp a couple years ago and I had taken him to three (yes, three!) different vets in my area. Each gave me a different diagnosis, different x-rays, and none were right. He was miserable, I was going broke, and feeling more guilty by the minute. I just knew something wasn't right. I read some reviews and called Dr. Godfrey. She asked, in my opinion, the right questions and diagnosed my little guy with what she thought was a broken hip over the phone and told me to come in right away to make sure. Low and behold she was completely right. One surgery and he was fixed. All the other vets told me he was too young to have such an injury and didn't even look into it. I haven't seen another vet since. I only go to Dr. Godfrey. She's an all bases covered, to the point, excellent diagnostician who has a way with animals that is pretty cool to see. She loves them and they can definitely tell. My cat purred during his check up today. UNREAL. Anyway, I've sent friends with dogs to her and they feel the same way I do about her. If you have a sick pet with what you believe to be a tough case like I did or just need a teeth cleaning, vaccinations, or a check up at a fair price. She's your doctor. I honestly can't thank her enough! My little dude is back to chasing his laser pen at epic speeds and its all thanks to Dr. Godfrey and her amazing staff. They also give a pretty mean kitty hair cut! (See my eldest son pictured the day of his cut and vaccination then a precut photo with both of the little goobers looking healthy, happy, and waiting for a little bath tub wading to beat the heat)

I've been taking my cats to see Dr. Wolf for a few years and he's great! He always explains things thoroughly and has always returned my calls personally when I've had concerns. One of my cats is not exactly what you would call "personable" and even she loves him. She broke her leg a couple years ago and since it was after hours, I took her to an emergency vet in Dublin where she subsequently had surgery. I didn't know they had contacted Dr. Wolf's office until I got a call from a staff member who just wanted to call and let me know they were aware of the situation and to see how things were. I thought that was very thoughtful of them. From the doctors to the staff, this office is amazing! I would highly recommend.

I am so happy a friend recommend Dr. Wolf and staff when my daughter's hamster became lethargic/ill.Based on her hamster's age, I knew it probably wasn't a good sign, but this is part of why we get pets for our children, right? To learn about the cycle of life...Each person during our visit was very kind and compassionate...from the staff who checked us in, to Dr. Wolf. Even his wife, who also works there, made a point to pop in our room and chat with my daughter once we made the decision to euthanize.The visit never felt rushed and every person on staff offered their condolences. I really appreciate the attention and care they provided my daughter during such a delicate moment. She was crying and their empathy was truly needed and appropriate. They were thoughtful enough to provide little cards with her hamster's paw prints on them for us to take home. And a couple of weeks later we received a sympathy card in the mail signed by their staff!My daughter wants to be a vet when she grows up, she decided this at age 3, and this experience will no doubt leave a lasting impression, whatever career path she ultimately chooses. I had to request a last minute appointment after noticing my dachshund's back and hind legs were stiff. He couldn't moved and cried every time I touched his back. As a first time patient, my dog felt very comfortable (despite being in pain) in the exam room, which never happens. I immediately noticed that the staff is very caring with all the pets and treats them with equal compassion. My biggest concern was that my dog had maybe pinched a nerve or -- worse -- ruptured a disc and needed surgery but Dr. Wolf did an extensive physical exam and told me that he had intense muscle spasms. I was so relieved! Dr. Wolf is an amazing vet and his assistant is just as great. I've never seen my dog respond so positively to a vet before. I highly recommend this place if you're new or visiting the area and need a vet. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

Dr. Liesel Petersen has been our veterinarian since 2003. We have followed her from Bishop Ranch, and now to Amador. We have quite the crew, three dogs and two cats. Her care and compassion with our animals is absolutely amazing. Nobody wants to go to the vet, least of all the pets, and she makes the experience very pleasant. Even when it's bad news. She explains our options, in language we can understand, and helps us make decisions, even when they are difficult. We will continue to use both Amador and her sister Veterinary Hospital Bishop Ranch for all of our pets needs without question!

Dr. Godfrey is by far the most excellent vet I've ever met. She is caring, listens and very knowledgeable. Her never-give-up attitude gives me reassurance, knowing she will do everything she can to solve a pet issue. I have Yorkies and they tend to have stomach issues and more. One of my Yorkies has everything under the sun going against her, but Dr. Godfrey keeps up with adjusting her meds as needed. She has also performed acupuncture on my Yorkie which has made a substantial difference in her numerous conditions. I can't recommend her more highly!

Over the years, I have worked with both Dr. Godfrey and Dr. Wolf and both are exceptionaly patient and wonderful with my pets and with me. I appreciate that both Doctors remember my dog Chucho. He's always excited to see them both, which says a lot. Dr. Godfrey gets down on the floor with him and loves him up. He's a 20 lb ball of terrier energy and he loves the attention. Their approach may be different, but both Drs. Wolf and Godfrey have made my life easier. Amador Valley Veterinary Center helps me accomplish the most important things: Loving and attentive veterinary care for my dog, financing options (through Care Credit) and the patience to work with me on a solution I can afford. These guys are the best of the best. They are affiliated with Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. They still have the local small office feel and attention, with the benefits of being connected to a larger Veterinary Center with emergency hours and state of the art technology. Can't say enough how thrilled I am to have both Drs. Wolf and Godfrey in the same building. They are AMAZING!

My 10 yr old female cat, "Inara", had what I thought was an abscess near the end of her tail, perhaps from one of the other household cats grabbing her tail with their claws as she walked by - as cats often do. As it turned out, Dr. Wolf immediately determined it was a tumor. So, we are headed for surgery tomorrow morning. Oh, joy. Inara is a normally vocal cat at home. She's an indoor-only cat and hasn't been in a carrier for at least 8 years. She's also extremely skiddish. We were at Amador Vet for about an hour and she didn't stop screaming the whole time. Thanks to the staff - especially the front desk - for putting up with that. Everyone was very accomodating, friendly and concerned. I have great confidence in Dr. Wolf and the staff there. I'll post an update after surgery.

I was there yesterday and today. I called for a same day appt and they took us in. It was a professional, clean environment and the staff was friendly and attentive. Today was the first time I took my hamster to this clinic. Upon arriving, we were greeted by very welcoming staffs. I'm glad I made the choice to come here, because Dr.Wolf was extremely experienced and responsible. He took all the time and patience explaining everything, he cared for my hamster. I have been taking my pets to Bishop Ranch Vet in San Ramon who I trust. What a pleasant surprise to find out that they are affiliated with this tucked away location in my home town. Saved me a drive plus the staff and vet care is just how I have come to expect, great first impression and nice job with my dog My is a 5 year old Golden Retriever who was showing signs of a sore leg/muscles and starting to limp. The staff are wonderful... absolutely wonderful. However, our vet who knew little about sugar gliders should have never operated on our little girl. The doctor assured us a 90% success rate on her surgery. We got her back paralyzed and dying. We paid $1000 for the death of our girl... plus another $100+ for cremation. What kills us is that the doctor didn't even realize she was paralyzed. Completely incompetent vet. And with the huge bill and broken hearts, we had to listen for weeks as her twin sister cried out for her at night.

I have been taking my two cats to Dr. Godfrey for two years now and we drive out from Concord to see her. The cats love her and her staff. My youngest had a limp a couple years ago and I had taken him to three (yes, three!) different vets in my area. Each gave me a different diagnosis, different x-rays, and none were right. He was miserable, I was going broke, and feeling more guilty by the minute. I just knew something wasn't right. I read some reviews and called Dr. Godfrey. She asked, in my opinion, the right questions and diagnosed my little guy with what she thought was a broken hip over the phone and told me to come in right away to make sure. Low and behold she was completely right. One surgery and he was fixed. All the other vets told me he was too young to have such an injury and didn't even look into it. I haven't seen another vet since. I only go to Dr. Godfrey. She's an all bases covered, to the point, excellent diagnostician who has a way with animals that is pretty cool to see. She loves them and they can definitely tell. My cat purred during his check up today. UNREAL. Anyway, I've sent friends with dogs to her and they feel the same way I do about her. If you have a sick pet with what you believe to be a tough case like I did or just need a teeth cleaning, vaccinations, or a check up at a fair price. She's your doctor. I honestly can't thank her enough! My little dude is back to chasing his laser pen at epic speeds and its all thanks to Dr. Godfrey and her amazing staff. They also give a pretty mean kitty hair cut! (See my eldest son pictured the day of his cut and vaccination then a precut photo with both of the little goobers looking healthy, happy, and waiting for a little bath tub wading to beat the heat)

I've been taking my cats to see Dr. Wolf for a few years and he's great! He always explains things thoroughly and has always returned my calls personally when I've had concerns. One of my cats is not exactly what you would call "personable" and even she loves him. She broke her leg a couple years ago and since it was after hours, I took her to an emergency vet in Dublin where she subsequently had surgery. I didn't know they had contacted Dr. Wolf's office until I got a call from a staff member who just wanted to call and let me know they were aware of the situation and to see how things were. I thought that was very thoughtful of them. From the doctors to the staff, this office is amazing! I would highly recommend.

I am so happy a friend recommend Dr. Wolf and staff when my daughter's hamster became lethargic/ill.Based on her hamster's age, I knew it probably wasn't a good sign, but this is part of why we get pets for our children, right? To learn about the cycle of life...Each person during our visit was very kind and compassionate...from the staff who checked us in, to Dr. Wolf. Even his wife, who also works there, made a point to pop in our room and chat with my daughter once we made the decision to euthanize.The visit never felt rushed and every person on staff offered their condolences. I really appreciate the attention and care they provided my daughter during such a delicate moment. She was crying and their empathy was truly needed and appropriate. They were thoughtful enough to provide little cards with her hamster's paw prints on them for us to take home. And a couple of weeks later we received a sympathy card in the mail signed by their staff!My daughter wants to be a vet when she grows up, she decided this at age 3, and this experience will no doubt leave a lasting impression, whatever career path she ultimately chooses. I had to request a last minute appointment after noticing my dachshund's back and hind legs were stiff. He couldn't moved and cried every time I touched his back. As a first time patient, my dog felt very comfortable (despite being in pain) in the exam room, which never happens. I immediately noticed that the staff is very caring with all the pets and treats them with equal compassion. My biggest concern was that my dog had maybe pinched a nerve or -- worse -- ruptured a disc and needed surgery but Dr. Wolf did an extensive physical exam and told me that he had intense muscle spasms. I was so relieved! Dr. Wolf is an amazing vet and his assistant is just as great. I've never seen my dog respond so positively to a vet before. I highly recommend this place if you're new or visiting the area and need a vet. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
