Midland Animal Clinic was recommended to us in our new neighborhood by other dog owners. We were very pleased with our first visit there. The entire staff was friendly and made us feel welcomed, wanted and care for. They definitely are pet friendly and it shows. The Vet we saw and the vet. assistant were very hands on and kind to our dog and us. We left feeling well informed and knew that our dogs best interest was of importance to them. first off I have NOT been to this vet.  Unfortunately, the below reviews dont ring true for me.  I called to schedule a neuter for my 5month kitten. I have another appt at another vet closer to home but something about the vet didnt ring comfortable.  I am extremely hesitant with vets.  I do not believe in vaccines and most vets have proven clueless to me when it comes to the to this issue- - .  So I was relieved to read so many reviews on how these vets are not about vaccines and also dont see to be pushy. I agree the vets in this areas do tend to be pushy and Ive only had to see a vet twice.  I was asked to get my 11 year old lab a teeth cleaning for over 400 when I brought him in for a light ear infection?  Seriously?   I am now being quoted by yet another vet $200+ for a NEUTER of a small kitten?? anyway, the first phone call the gal wanted to make an unnecessary separate office visit for "check up".  I dont need a well visit or check up..I just want a neuter.  My cat is in great health and dont need her to tell me this.  To me this is more an effort to stress my cat to come into the vet (time I have to take off work as well), have more an issue re introducing back to my other cat (who if you have more than one cat and know how they can be when they smell other animals on another - one trip the vet for a neuter is enough.  Hense why I am stressing about this already..to get the most of the visit with someone I can TRUST will not over drug my animal, do the job professional and get my baby home safely as quick as possible.    too bad as the reviews looked promising. What can I say after coming here continuously since 1994 with our four family dogs (they own & train us)... Every one of our Boys has received great care, kindness & options of how we wanted to proceed with any medical issues. The most knowledgeable and kind veterinarians you will ever find! My family's pets have been patients of Dr. Augustine and Dr. Switzer since 1995. They know our dogs... and really love them! I promise they aren't going to try to sell you vaccinations, testing, etc. you don't really need just to make money off of you. You can trust them. They're not going to run your bill up thousands of dollars just because they can. ALL of their vets are wonderful.Unfortunately, there are so many vets who rip people off because they know pet owners will do whatever it takes to help their pets. My mom took one of our dogs to a different vet after we moved out of Poway. The vet charged over $2,000 in testing for his skin irritation. His skin improved, but several months later it flared up again. Listening to her gut, my mom took our dog to Midland. Dr. Augustine walked in the exam room and immediately knew what was wrong with our dog's skin, wrote a prescription, and gave my mom a list of things to further help our dog's skin. We haven't had a problem since. Don't waste your time and money at other vets. Just go to Midland. Read Less

First is all Midland came highly recommended!What I was told about the clinic was absolutely true...Great customer service, when you walk in the door your greeted by smiles. Most important thing is smells....NONE! Nothing floral, bleachy, disinfectant smell just clean air. The consultation rooms are very clean and roomie (if you had big dogs or several.The tech was very professional and good with my dog.The Doc was awesome and forthcoming with his thoughts and professional opinion.I will be a client for all my pets. I was nervous to take my dog Louie to another vet because our experience with our last vet was not very good and our condition worsened. Midland animal clinic was very busy when I got there so I had a good feeling Louie was going to be taken care of. Jill and Dr. Mike took and handled Louie with the care I do when I hold him so it calmed my nerves. They pointed me in the right direction to get Louie taken care of because they thought he would be better taken care of at a specialist instead of their facility. Our family dog has been ill and having significant issues for months. Xrays, blood work, medications urine samples on and on with no diagnoses and our beagle Penny continued to suffer. My 15 year old nephew entered her symptoms on Google late Monday evrning because she was clearly in pain, and in 5 minutes we deduced she was having kidney failure. She was gone by the morning. I am in complete shock that after the amount of times she has been taken to Midland Clinic, we have clearly explained her symptoms, and the staff in whom we trusted were unable to diagnose her. We will never return with our other two dogs. Shame on your facility, your staff, and your lack of appropriate care over the last several months. I plan to investigate further and report the situation asap to the proper authorities. Read Less

Everyone we met at the clinic was so nice and genuinely cared about our dog. He had to have his teeth cleaned and some teeth extracted. They were very thorough with his check up and letting us know exactly what had to be done and what the cost would be. When it was time to pick our dog up they were right on time, gave us very detailed information about what to do and what to watch for. They called the next day just to make sure all was well. We just left our German Shepherd's first appointment with Dr. Courtney Davis at Midland Animal clinic & we couldn't be happier. Dr. Davis is truly outstanding. And her assistant, Kelly, is an angel. My dog, Nala, my husband, and I all immediately felt at home & truly cared about. Honest, understanding, knowledgeable, approachable, & gracious...everything we want in a vet. In addition, the Midland staff are professional, thorough, and kind. Every time I go to Midland, my dog, Allie, gets wonderful treatment. They always schedule an appointment right away if needed. Then they take time to explain everything to me. The doctor and all the assistants love Allie and take great care of her as they did my last dog, Nikki. If my dog is sick, they call a couple days later to see how she is doing. For years I have taken all my animals to the Midland Animal Clinic and I won't trust my animal's care to anyone else. I moved out of Poway but I still drive back there for all my vet appointments. the doctors have been practicing for over 30 years and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. I would recommend this vet to anyone who loves their pet, and I never do these online rating things.
